I just love real characters, they're not pretentious, and every emotion is on the surface, they're regular working people. Their likes, their dislikes, their loves, their hates, their passions; they're all right there on the surface.

Little Bit Of Emotion
See all the people
With hatred in their eyes
I cant help thinking that
Its only a disguise
Cause underneath that core
Theres got to be more
Than what we realize
Maybe theyre scared
To let the inside out
Maybe theyre afraid to
Show what theyre all about
So they put on a heavy front and hope that no one else
Can work them out
So they put on all the heaviness
But its only an illusion heaviness
Cant you see
Theyre scared to
Show a little bit of emotion
A little bit of real emotion
In case a little bit of emotion
Gives them away
Look at that lady dancing around with no clothes
Shell give you all her body
Thats if youve got the dough
Shell let you see most
Anything but theres one thing
That shell never show
And thats a little bit of real emotion
A little bit of true emotion
In case a little bit of emotion
Gives her away
But its a shame shes acting that way
Somehow shes gotta get through every day
And the only way
Is not to show one little bit of emotion
A little bit of true emotion
In case a little bit of emotion gives her away
People learn their lines
And they act out their part
Then they talk on cue
But its got no heart
Its all on the surface
And its all contrived
Theyre scared to come out
Somehow theyve got to survive
Look at that looney
With a smile on his face
He knows no shame
And feels no disgrace
Hes got a look in his eyes
That makes it seem that hes from outer space
Maybe that looney knows what its all about
Hes got something to say
But he cant spit it out
Hes unco-ordinated so we shut him out
In case he shows a little bit of emotion
A little bit of real emotion
Were afraid to see a bit of emotion
So we walk away
Show a little bit of real emotion
Show a little bit of emotion
Were afraid to see a bit of emotion
So we walk away

Why Waste Time On Those Kinds Of Minds?
I am blessed with a package,
That doesn't appear to have depth.
Some believe my energies are on the surface,
Too complexed.
I have a multitude of interests...
And to each I give the best time I can get.
With the same emphasis I use to share...
Amongst the number of friends I 'had'.
But I am glad I have real ones left!
Be patient.
There's a point I'm making.
But I do have a pet peeve that irritates me.
Because where I live...
Some people believe this opens the door to disrespect.
And...
I've always love my people,
And the realness of the community.
And there are those who actually accept,
Their delusions of sitting on pedestals...
And being better than me.
They have no idea the résumé I keep...discreet!
I don't have to ego trip or embellish!
I don't have a pretentious bone in my body.
But you know what?
I know just what to say to folks...
Who 'think' they can sit on a higher horse,
Than I can!
But never will I turn my nose up!
Why waste time on those kinds of minds?
I rather strut and them get up a public bus.

Loves In Need Of Love Today
Good morn or evening friends
Heres your friendly announcer
I have serious news to pass on to every-body
What Im about to say
Could mean the worlds disaster
Could change your joy and laughter to tears and pain
Its that
Loves in need of love today
Dont delay
Send yours in right away
Hates goin round
Breaking many hearts
Stop it please
Before its gone too far
The force of evil plans
To make you its possession
And it will if we let it
Destroy ev-er-y-body
We all must take
Precautionary measures
If love and please you treasure
Then youll hear me when I say

One who hates is a man holding a magnifying-glass, and when he hates someone, he knows precisely that person's surface, from the soles of his feet all the way up to each hair on the hated head.

If The Surface For Them Did Not Exist
If the surface didn't exist,
Many wouldn't have a thought to cling to.
Many wouldn't know,
Which gossip heard was true.
If the surface for them did not exist.
If the surface didn't exist,
The many dependent on having lives not their own...
Would be lost without being told what to do.
Many absolutely would not have a clue...
How to find their way around,
Without following in someone's footsteps.
If the surface they sniffed did not exist.
And if the surface for them did not exist...
They would not be able to sit alone,
Doing something completely on their own...
And appreciating life,
With the minding of their own business.
If...
The surface for many did not exist,
It would be taumatic for them to seek a thought process.
Many would not know where or how to begin.
So many are accustomed to living lives that are shallow.
With an ability only to identify with that...
Which is supplied and arrives to them surfacely.
Even a dog sniffing tries to find a place to bury a bone.
And doing that alone.

Sweet Emotion
Seems every star is out tonight to light our love
So round the moon so full and bright so high above
But if you look real closely theres only me, theres only you
And when you hold me closely, yeah
And now the sky melts in the sea like they are one
Its hard to tell where one first starts and where ends one
Thats the way our love is
You part of me me part of you
Thats just what love is
Sweet you got the sweetest emotion, baby
Sweet, sweet emotion
Sweet you got the sweetest emotion
Sweeter than sweet
Sweeter than sweet
Sweeter than sweet
You took me from the surface to a deeper deep
Showing me that you
And you are life for me
Our love will last forever
Me loving you, you loving me
Well always be together oh
Sweet you got the sweetest emotion
Sweet, sweet emotion
Sweet, sweet emotion
Sweet you got the sweetest emotion
Sweeter than sweet
Sweeter than sweet
Sweeter than sweet
Sweet, you got the sweetest emotion
Sweet, you got the sweetest emotion
Listen baby
Listen to me
Sweeter than sweet
Sweeter than sweet
Sweeter than sweet
You got the sweet emotion, yeah
Listen to me

He likes Art.
He likes music.
He loves the love
And stay with the family peacefully.

Magic And Loss - The Summation
Love is here, here to stay, love is here, here to stay
It gets proven every day, love is here, here to stay

He loves to play pinball, she wants to play next
She likes her novels long, he's into comic books
They're gilt-edged polymorphous urban but somehow it works

It gets proven every day, love is here, here to stay
She likes Truman Capote, he likes Gore Vidal
He likes Edgar Allan Poe, she's into Mean Joe Greene
She thinks eating meat's disgusting, he likes hot dogs
She's into Gestalt therapy, while est and the vest just make him ill

Surface Calm
Surface calm enfolds
the hidden tiger
of repressed emotions
sleeplessly prowling
within the inner reaches
of the mind’s cave.
Surface calm here holds
attention – geiger
counting the ocean motions
of reactivity, radioactivity
tuned into the wave lengths
of the [he]art’s rave.
Surface calm explodes
upon the calm surface
of a sheet which enfolds
the hidden tiger of.....

Is It Love?
do i close my eyes when i am in love?
do i blind myself?
you rob me because i love you
i know it
but i pretend that i do not know about what you are doing
you pretend that you are not robbing me
you have always pretended that you love me so much
two pretentious people
then
loving each other
on the surface
when it is dark, they open their eyes
and plan for the next activity
one gets love, and one gives it
one eyes a fortune, the other one gives it willingly in return
for you see, this is the symbiosis of
love and pretenses
the rich is hungry for love, the poor has it
the poor is looking for money, the rich amply shall give it
'is it love? ' you ask.

Initial Attraction
What lies beneath the surface smile?
which you display to everyone?
The mask you wear to be in style.
What lies beneath is yours alone.
Does it indicate interest?
What lies beneath the surface smile?
And will I perhaps pass the test
enjoy your company for a while.
Is it a sign of practiced guile?
or simple act of self defence.
What lies beneath the surface smile?
Must I rely on my sixth sense?
My need to know grows more intense
I am prepared to wait awhile
to try and gain your confidence.
What lies beneath the surface smile?

Baby Loves That Way
(baby loves that way) yes, she does, yes she does
(baby loves that way) oh, I love my baby
(baby loves that way) ooh, I gotta take her
(baby loves that way) yep, I love her
Baby likes to go outside, so I let her
Wants to fool with other guys, so I let her
Wants to be bad, so I let her be bad
But fooling around, it will make me sad
She fools around with other boys and treat me like an unwanted toy
(baby loves that way) oh, I love my baby
(baby loves that way) ooh, she does too much to me
(baby loves that way) and I cant think too much of her
(baby loves that way) gotta take her, gotta take her
Gonna better leave her alone, put you down son
Treating her real fine, thus Im home being a loner
Jeannys my babe and thats alright, yeah
She treats me good, each and every night
She fools around with other boys and treat me like an unwanted toy
(baby loves that way) I love my baby
(baby loves that way) ooh, shes too much
(baby loves that way) yes she does, yes she does
(baby loves that wayyyy)
(baby loves that way) I love my baby
(baby loves that way) yeah, shes too much, yeah yeah
(baby loves that way) ooh, I think she can live with me
(baby loves that way) love her, love her, love her
Baby likes to go outside, so I let her
Wants to fool with other guys, so I let her
Wants to be bad, so I let her be bad
But fooling around, it will make me sad
She clings around with all the boys, who treat her like unwanted toys
(baby loves that way) obviously this is the end
(baby loves that way) gotta take her
(baby loves that way) ooh yeah
(baby loves that way) cant do enough
(baby loves that way)

Sad Professor
If were talking about love
Then I have to tell you
Dear readers Im not sure where Im headed
Ive gotten lost before
Ive woke up stone drunk
Face down in the floor
Late afternoon the house is hot
I started I jumped up
Everyone hates a bore
Everyone hates a drunk
This may be a lit invention
Professors muddled in their intent
To try to rope in followers
To float their malcontent
As for this reader
Im already spent
Late afternoon the house is hot
I started I jumped up
Everyone hates a sad professor
I hate where I wound up
Dear readers my apologies
Im drifting in and out of sleep
Long silence presents the tragedies
Of love note the age get afraid
The surface hazy with attendant thoughts
A lazy eye metaphor on the rocks
Late afternoon the house is hot
I started I jumped up
Everyone hates a bore
Everyone hates a drunk
Everyone hates a sad professor
I hate where I wound up
I hate where I wound up

Scratch The Surface
Scratch the surface serve a purpose
scratch the surface don't waste my time
Such empty life Such simple sheep night after night
herd to the creeps all hidden faults beauty is null
such shallow sight barely skin deep
What is the force that drives the superficial
tell me what keeps their minds remaining little
so afraid of what they'd see underneath the fantasy
so afraid to actually scratch the surface.
All mirrors hide Big money lies faillure inside
big lying eyes that's maybe why eyes are the soul
they take so much time big dollar signs

eroticism, you and I
eroticism is just the surface
the skin where i pierce
and make the necessary
entrance to your
heart to the bone of
my feelings, and if you
allow it
i may find myself
living in there: your heart
my love, our only dwelling.
you must let me pass the surface
so i can get inside
your eternity
