If we thought it would improve our relationship, we would get married tomorrow, but as it is, nearly 7 years after we got engaged, we are content to wait.

I See No Reason Why We Can Not Stay Engaged
Why do you wait to the last minute,
To change your mind.
And show just how indecisive you are.
The next time,
Whatever it is you say...
Do not expect me to be there.
It's too embarrassing.
Especially returning gifts...
With a 'Thank You' note.
'Maybe we should stay engaged.
Everytime I see you walking down the aisle...
You look completely different.
Dressed in white AND behind a veil.
You should see it from my perspective.
That's the only reason why I asked the minister...
How much time could I take before I said 'I Do'?
I just want to be sure.
What's wrong with that?
We've been living together for ten years without a contract.
I see no reason why we can not stay engaged.
That's the only part of our relationship that seems to work.
And has lasted for years.
Oh...
What about the towels?
Are you returning those too? '

The Three of Us.
The two sat down with their Relationship
and a soup-bowl of their mutual memories
the two lovers complaining that the other
had not given what they needed.
Each spoke after a sip of tainted memory.
She said 'You never thought of what I needed
that which pleased you is what mattered.
I was left with kids and bills as you escaped
to job and night out with the boys.
He said:
I thought I had married a princess and as it turns out
I had hired my own critic who's never satisfied.
And whittled down I have only 15 years and thirty extra pounds to show for it.
With that he took his tablespoon and sipped a double dip.
Finally relationship spoke:
All these years I have seen you two value the combat
more than I.
These years I have starved while neither of you could give me
the small attention which might have saved the marriage.
Neither of you looked to nurture me so concerned each of you with I.
And now you wonder if I skin and bone can be revived
my answer sure is to starve a thing for years on end
is not to wonder then it does not survive.
The two looked at one another.
Relationship looking really ill, said hoarsely.
'Now each of you start sentences that begin with we.'

He Married
My father married a nurse!
He, my father, married a teacher
He never married out of being forced
So, he chose to marry a leader
A maiden, an edifice of beauty!
His attempt wasn't thwarted
So, he tied the knot with a deity
And thereafter never parted
Even till tomorrow, he's still with his lady
My father married a cook!
Dishes served to his content, he never bothers
It is never a fluke!
My father married my mother
She is the plant, he is the water

Wait Until Tomorrow
Well, Im standing here, freezing, inside your golden garden
Uh got my ladder, leaned up against your wall
Tonights the night we planned to run away together
Come on dolly mae, theres no time to stall
But now youre telling me...
I think we better wait till tomorrow
Hey, yeah, hey
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
Girl, what chu talkin bout ?
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Got to make sure its right, so until tomorrow, goodnight.
Oh, what a drag.
Oh, dolly mae, how can you hang me up this way ?
Oh, on the phone you said you wanted to run off with me today
Now Im standing here like some turned down serenading fool
Hearing strange words stutter from the mixed mind of you
And you keep tellin me that ah...
I think we better wait till tomorrow
What are you talkin bout ?
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
No, cant wait that long
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
Oh, no
Got to make sure its right, until tomorrow, goodnight, oh.
Lets see if I can talk to this girl a little bit here...
Ow ! dolly mae, girl, you must be insane
So unsure of yourself leaning from your unsure window pane
Do I see a silhouette of somebody pointing something from a tree ?
Click bang, what a hang, your daddy just shot poor me
And I hear you say, as I fade away...
We dont have to wait till tomorrow
Hey !
We dont have to wait till tomorrow
What you say ?
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
It must have been right, so forever, goodnight, listen at cha.
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Ah ! do I have to wait ? dont have to wait
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Its a drag on my part
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow) dont have to wait, uh, hmm ! ah, no !
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Dont have to wait, dont have to wait, yeah !
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Dont have to wait, dont have to wait
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Oh, oh
I wont be around tomorrow, yeah !
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Dont have to wait
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Goodbye, bye bye !
(we dont have to wait till tomorrow)
Oh, what a mix up
Oh, you gotta be crazy, hey, ow!
Dont have to wait till tomorrow.

Lets Get Married
See first of all
I know these so-called playas wouldnt tell you this
But Im gonna be real and say whats heart
Lets take this chance and make this love feel relevant
Didnt you know I loved you from the start, yeah
When I think about all these years we put in this relationship
Eho knew wed make it this far?
When I think about where we would I be if we were to just fall apart
And I just cant stand the thought of leving you
Meet me in the altar in your white dress
We aint getting no younger, we might as well do it
Been feeling all the while girl I must confess
Girl lets just get married
I just wanna get married
Meet me in the altar in your white dress
We aint getting no younger, we might as well do it
Been feeling all the while girl I must confess
Girl lets just get married
I just wanna get married
Said I done it all
But frankly girl Im tired of this emptiness
I wanna come home to you and only you
Cause making love to just anyone aint happening
I just gotta be with you
Do you think about us finishing something we started so long ago?
I wanna give you my all
Do you think about us maybe having some babies?
Come on wont you be my lady forever, yeah
Im ready to commit to you
And I just cant wait for that night
Cause I need you here with me
And lets start a family
Meet me in the altar in your white dress
We aint getting no younger, we might as well do it
Been feeling all the while girl I must confess
Girl lets just get married
I just wanna get married

It's Cool
It's cool,
If there's no content...
In what you say or do.
It's cool,
If no one comprehends,
With a meaning that's approved.
No one carries a single thought
To improve a life so screwed.
It's cool,
If there's no content...

Cant It Wait Until Tomorrow
(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
I know youre standing there
Trying to say the words
You took so long to prepare
But I laugh, pretending I dont see
Cause I dont wanna hear
What you got to say to me
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours
I ve seen it coming for quite sometime now
Dont you know Ive tried to stop it
In every way I know how
And I know its hard for you
As it is for me
So listen to my heart
Begging desperately
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Oh wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours
Baby please give me 24 more hours
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Oh wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours

Tomorrow
wake up me wake up me tomorrow
tomorrow is my date
the harmony tomorrow will come
wait me tomorrow wait me
tomorrow is my day
tomorrow is other day
and other fate
the light is an other light an other life
obscure but fair
for us with love
tomorrow is hope
tomorrow is heal
so call me tomorrow
still today is not gone
tomorrow is not came
but for sure the darkness will fade
and the day of tomorrow will come
the day of the freeman with faith
the day of praying with love will come
at the hill of Jerusalem tomorrow
with love
with care
for all tomorrow will come with peace
then for long in peace
in peace
in peace

Pain - II
If we couldn't be partners in pleasure,
Let us be partners in pain.
Let's stop pleasing each other,
And become a source of
Perpetual pain...
For in this loss of
Our mutual pleasure,
None of us have anything to gain.
We went in search of sanity
In a complaisant relationship
But now our animosity
Is driving us Insane.
We thought that the Sun
Would always shine -
Whatever be the weather,
We'll wait for the sunshine.
But now it seems,
After all these years,
The sunny side of our relationship
Has been overshadowed
By the clouds, the rain, the storm
And the hurricane -
Of immense pain.
We thought this relationship
Is a blessing from God
But we realized too late
That it's a curse on us,
Our life's evil bane.
And now, there is no need to feign
Trying to be happy and gay -
When we know of the deep pain
Engulfing us, deep down below -
Alas! We tried too much, too long,
Yet our time and efforts
All went in vain.
And what now remains in us -
Is not even a dropp of pleasure
Yet plentiful of rain -
The raining pain.
And we are drowning...

When Tomorrow Comes
Underneath your dreamlit eyes
Shades of sleep have driven you away.
The moon is pale outside
And you are far from here.
Breathing shifts your careless head
Untroubled by the chaos of our lives.
Another day - another night
Has taken you again my dear.
And you know that I'm gonna be the one
Who'll be there
When you need someone to depend upon
When tomorrow comes...
When tomorrow comes...
Wait till tomorrow comes - yea yea...
Wait till tomorrow comes - yea yea...
Last night while you were
Lying in my arms
And I was wondering where you were
You know you looked just like a baby
Fast asleep in this dangerous world.
Every star was shining brightly
Just like a million years before.
And we were feeling very small
Underneath the universe.
And you know that I'm gonna be the one
Who'll be there when you need
Someone to depend upon
When tomorrow comes...
When tomorrow comes...

Tomorrow Never Comes
(words & music by ernest tubb - johnny bond)
Oh you tell me that you love me
Yes you tell me that you care
That tomorrow well be married, oh
But tomorrows never there
Oh tomorrow never, never comes
Oh tomorrow never comes
Now you tell me that you love me, oh
But tomorrow never comes
Many weeks now have I waited
Oh many long nights have I cried
But just to see that happy morning, happy morning
When I have you right by my side
But tomorrow will never come, oh no, no
Tomorrow never gonna come
Now you tell me that you love me
But tomorrow never, never comes
So tomorrow Ill be leaving
Yes tomorrow Ill be gone
But tomorrow youll be weeping, oh
But tomorrow will never, never come
Well tomorrow will never, never come
Oh no, tomorrow aint never gonna come
Yeah, yeah, you tell me, you tell me
That you love me, but tomorrow never comes

Love Won't Wait
Don't lose this moment
Life tastes so sweet
We can work wonders
Just let it be
I know what you're thinking
So can you feel
What I need
Don't need to be set
I will need right now
(Love)
My love won't wait
If you're gonna wait till tomorrow (My love won't wait)
Baby I'm yours
And that means right today (And that means right today)
My love won't wait
If you're gonna wait till tomorrow (My love won't wait)
This is not a dream
It's right before your eyes
Don't let it fade away
You'll miss this moment
Don't be afraid
Ain't that what you wanted
So why hesitate?
Cos I'm feeling restless
I can't explain
What I need
Don't need to be set
I will need right now
(Love)
My love won't wait
If you're gonna wait till tomorrow (My love won't wait)
Baby I'm yours
And that means right today (And that means right today)
My love won't wait
If you're gonna wait till tomorrow (My love won't wait)
This is not a dream
It's right before your eyes
Don't let it fade away
My love won't wait
Love won't wait
Love won't wait
Don't hesitate
Oooh
What I need
Don't need to be set
I will need right now

My love won't wait
If you're gonna wait till tomorrow (My love won't wait)
Baby I'm yours
And that means right today (And that means right today)

Tomorrow
Gale, silverman
Oh she was a the fairest in trinidad
And he was a wandering sailor lad,
But she stole his heart as no other had
Tomorrow, tomorrow we will meet once more
In the old village square,
So wait for me darlin' and i'll be there.
The moon was so young and their hearts were gay,
I'm yours for ever he heard her say,
But she knew in her heart that he could not stay.
Tomorrow, tomorrow we will meet once more,
In the old village square,
So wait for me darlin' and i'll be there.
Now her heart is sad as he sails the sea,
And i heard her sigh, "oh come back to me",
And the wind in the waves whispered mournfully,
"tomorrow, tomorrow we will meet once more,
In the old village square,
So wait for me darlin' and i'll be there."

Waiting For Tomorrow
Today is gone with my hopes
Tomorrow I wait for what comes.
If yesterday is history
And tomorrow mystery
I have today only as mine.
But I still wait for tomorrow,
For yesterday is gone with my hopes.
O' home, sweet home of mine!
I have missed for twenty years
If they can feel my tears;
My pains and my bleeding heart.
Time has failed me
Time won't leave me.
And every day I grow older;
Everyday I grow weaker;
America, are you there?
Africa, can you hear me?
My country has failed me
And I am growing old, old away from home
My Africa, my sweet home of mine
I come with a new hope.
Where is my hope Nigeria?
You have killed my dreams.
But I wait for tomorrow;
I still wait for tomorrow.

Make Tomorrow
Put on the dress in which you were married
Pull down the veil til your eyes are hid
Can you remember where we both came from
Let us do as we did
Look at tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Put back the photo under your window
Put down the phone that you hold in your hand
Put away these things that stand in between us
Let us be what we can
When it seems
Hopeless
When it seems
Hopeless
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
What better measure of what you were doing here
Then what you can leave behind
All the children of your children's children
Do you ever think what they're going to find
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Where the sacred meet the scared
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Where the dreamer's dream is dared
In each of us
A dream can burn like the sun
Let's try it all one more time
To get this lesson learned
Sitting up in a spaceship
Looking down at the earth
You wonder what they all stuggling for
What's it all really worth
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
