Of all the haunting moments of motherhood, few rank with hearing your own words come out of your daughter's mouth.

Father Daughter Moments
My daughter said something the other day
We were sitting on the front steps, talking
Someone wanted to enter the building, she stood up and said 'we're just having a father daughter moment'
My daughter is still young, only 27
And hearing her say that, my heart swelled with pride
She still wants to have moments with her father
My adult daughter still needed me
So much is said about the mother-daughter bond
But there's an even stronger bond between a father and a daughter
No matter how old she is, she's still daddy's little girl
And he always wants to be there for her
Father daughter moments last a lifetime
From playground accidents to a broken heart
You do your best to help her pain go away
Because when she's in pain, you are too

Sweet Sixteen, Welcome to Motherhood
The little boys of the hood
Introduced her to Motherhood
Is that good?
Sweet Sixteen, Sweet Sixteen
Welcome to Motherhood
Put on the tape and press rewind
Can you see what was on their minds?
Their quick fun release
Became your infectious disease
Sweet Sixteen, Sweet Sixteen
Welcome to Motherhood
Now is about money and food
Keeping warm with firewood
A young mother in a daughter
She’s got no more time to be rude
The little boys of the hood
Introduced her to Motherhood
If only she understood
They still go to school
She doesn’t!
Who's the fool?

Waterfront
Leave me alone, get out, out of my face
Leave me alone, get out, out of this place
Stop haunting me! stop haunting me!
Stay in the shade, keep out of my way
What do you want of me? how low can you be?
Stop haunting me! stop haunting me!
Just go anywhere the wind blows
Just go anywhere at all
Leave me at the waterfront
Your mouth big as the moon
Youre like a hole for two
You know what I mean when I say
Strange beasts live in you
Stop haunting me! stop haunting me!
Just go anywhere the wind blows
Just go anywhere at all
Leave me at the waterfront
Theres so much dirt you spread
How low can you get, I am so sick of you
You keep coming back
Stop haunting me! stop haunting me!
On the waterfront, on the waterfront,
On the waterfront, on the waterfront

Haunting
(carly simon)
Theres always someone haunting someone - haunting someone
Like an echo in the wind leaves, unreconciled -
Waiting to be picked up and bounced down again on
Listeners ears
Theres always someone haunting someone - haunting someone
And you know who I am
Though I never leave my name or number
Im locked inside of you so it doesnt matter
Theres always someone haunting someone - haunting someone
And you know who I am
Though I never leave my name or number
Im locked inside of you so it doesnt matter
Theres always someone haunting someone - haunting someone
And I cant sleep easy
cause Im afraid of dreaming
And then the memory of the dream
Theres always someone haunting someone
Haunting someone
Haunting someone

Yes, I think motherhood has almost everything to do with it, but when I was pregnant with my daughter, I thought I'll never work again.

The Great 'Grandma
The fussy Grandma
was on her last moments.
Sensing that she was knocking
at the doors of 'Death',
her grand children were
brought one by one before her.
Memories stinging
of momentous years
began to come into her mind.
How with tricks she drove out
her aged mother-in-law
just a week after her
coming into that house
as the first daughter-in-law!
The eldest grandchild
trickled down sugary water
into her mouth.
Her henpecked husband
reared his head in her mind.
Her eyes got wet
when her mind recalled
how her husband hanged himself
believing her feigning torrid looks
at some neighbours, as true.
The next grand child
dripped water into her mouth.
When she remembered
how her first daughter-in-law
sought herself divorce
being afraid of her torture,
her lips moved a bit
and the third grand child
rained sweetened water.
When she thought of her
second techie-daughter-in-law
who escaped her ill-treatment
by settling down abroad
and refused to take her there,
she tried to gnash her teeth.
Her upper jaw lowered a little.
The foreign-settled in-law
came by flight and entered
at her mother-in-law's last minute.
She poured pure honey down
into the gaped mouth of her in-law.
The great grandma lost her breath
and was lost for ever.

Always Wanted To Wear Your Shoes
o sister o sister
my beautiful and powerful big sister;
i wish i knew you like i once did
o sister o sister
my wise and worldly big sister;
i wish i knew the remedy for what has rent itself between us
a thousand hateful things i've said to you;
wish i knew how to soften those words
I don't know what you mean by formal, not sure how to be formal
I miss you
and dare I say you were right in many ways
are there amends for my intolerance of your menopause
which is when know that things began to really fall apart
and now, as i swallow black cohosh capsules
and find myself yet again in a back against the wall situation;
i'm wishing i'd ever learned to do things like you
learned to make the best of things,
find and develop my own creative spark
& now there is no you to run to
and i've yet again made choices without a backup plan.
this seems to have become the pattern of my life
never really finishing anything
testing the waters here and there
often trying to live up to you
there were times when i wished u were my mother
and even felt u were
and now as tears begin to well
i can't help wanting to reverse the clock
though I'm I'd just react the same way
so many little moments come flooding in
I sat,8ish months pregnant, at my midwife visit
staring at words on a memo she'd held in her hand
sister called, requests that we urge mother to consider adoption,
doesn't think she can handle motherhood
or is ready for mother hood
I don't remember the exact words.
I numbly said no, I didn't want adoption info
feeling very sad
feeling somehow rejected
and so it seems I couldn't handle motherhood
one of those midwives asked me, later, on my 6 week visit
'Are you starting to adjust to motherhood? '
What?
F*** no! I don't know what that means.
but i said neither, wanly exhaustedly said, yes.
no further questions.
And 12 years later, I've still not adjusted
and that doesn't mean I am not madly in love with my son.
But I know you know that
sister.
My heart feels so lost and yet there are moments
when I feel more powerful than I ever have.
I still keep feeling like I'm struggling to live up to you
still see your face when someone speaks of heroes
though I despise the word – and perhaps i've lived the reason why
I see other faces but yours the brightest
if not of late only because of my bitter anger
my self torturing sense of betrayal
just my feelings - not necessarily truth
Im sorry that I always wanted to be you
so much maybe that I even wanted to stamp you out.

The Daughter Yet Met
sits he a pondering
the years fate has dealt
knowing in his heart there be
a daughter
yet met
mother’s have their plans
bound in unvoiced intentions
reasons in her eyes
he did not see,
needs,
till a future was to be conceived
sits he a pondering
the few words she had spoken,
a puzzle solved after
their last kiss
still, it was her test
the answer be
a daughter
yet met
long red hair has she
like mother’s no doubt,
a wicked smile
a haunting laugh
holding, she the gate keeper,
her mother’s future cast
sits he pondering
does she know of him
a father’s love does she feel,
but even more,
will one day they move
this precious stone
weighing on his heart,
it be the daughter
yet met

In Memory...
No one told me the way I should feel
You left an aching heart
Lost and lonely, the feeling goes on
You were the one friend I had
You gave me so much love
Now the tears remind me youre gone
It still haunts me theres a silence
Where you used to be
It still haunts me
Just an empty space in history
It still haunts me
But life must go on, on and on
Its still haunting me
Its still haunting me
Haunting me
Haunting me

The Human Mouth
The human mouth is great,
When sacred be the words,
That issue forth from heart,
To change a man’s sad fate!
But, none really know,
What uncouth words come out;
Unpredictable’s the mouth,
Of evil men/ women.
The scene determines words!
And words can do magic;
The face may lag behind,
The uttered words, sometimes.
Yet, words may do damage,
That ne’er can be undone;
Then, seal your lips and see,
Much harm can elude us!

My Angel Daughter
My Angel Daughter
You came into this world
Was treasured forever.
An angel sent from heaven above
For my pride heart to embrace.
My pride heart is overflowing
With the marvel of a love like
I have never acknowledged.
When I cuddled you in my arms
It was magical! A touch no other
But my motherhood could offer.
Truly the passion required no words.
Your gorgeous face
Is something I admire to see each day?
With a single word of love to intensity
As you are so cute and amazingly lucid
Your eyes soften me with emotion
So powerful it is beyond belief.
A caring and unconditional love
That shines from them, that…
Makes me tremble with excitement
For our life to start a journey
Each day your smile seal
my heart with a happiness
To have you in my life daughter
is truly a blessing!
Whenever my cute daughter you embrace me,
I hope you by no means let go from me
I will always embrace you back,
And this I hope you know...........
How much I desire for you to be with me
You’re my angel daughter, my sweetest daughter,
Everything I desire you to be.
You’re my angel daughter sent from god,
To share my life with you.
Maybe one day we meet again,
In other circumstances and…
I promise to you yet again
My unconditional love and devotion.
For I will treasure each day
That God provide me and you,
Our own little piece of heaven on earth.
In which we can live forever
God bless you my angel daughter...
With health, wealth and happiness of peace
God bless you with all you necessitate in life.
You are my angel daughter....
I love you so.....
On summer evening a month of June,21 years ago I gave birth to a cute loving daughter, which was a very excitement day for both of us to see her softness and the way she embrace in my arms. Today she is grown up as a beautiful woman. One day she will leave my side to build her future and family like me.

Making a Memory
Languishing prostrate
Sultry sun melding our senses
We lay, and we talked
My daughter and I
Under a summer's evening sky.
Whispering secrets
Exchanging ludicrous viewpoints
On freedom to love.
My daughter and I
Under a waning twight sky.
Skipping out seawards
Through late lazy wavelets, swimming
midst wet girlish glee.
My daughter and I
Under that memorable sky.
Fingering hot food
Barbeque roasted and spicy
Warming the moments
My daughter and I
Shared under that magical
moonlit
mid-summer
marvellous
sky.
My 3 J's
My oldest son
Motherhood so new
I learn as he grows
My middle son
Motherhood a little easier
I learn as he grows
My youngest son
Motherhood a breeze
I learn as he grows
My 3 J's have made me a mother, mother - in - law and grandmother
With love and forgivness I have learned
Everything is new
Never a little eaiser
Not always a breeze
With my 3 J's
I continue to learn as they grow

Every Need In Me
I've got to move...
From memories,
Haunting...
Every need in me!
I've got to move.
I've got to move...
From shadows,
And dark places.
I've got to move...
From despairing melodies,
That keep me in such solitude...
And,
Deep dark gloomy moods!
I've got to move.
I've got to move...
To open all closed windows.
And,
I've got to move...
More than two steps away from doors.
Closed within I've been.
And I've got to...
Leave behind memories,
Haunting...
Every need in me!
I've got to move.
I've got to move...
From memories,
Haunting...
Every need in me!
I've got to move.
I've got to move...
From memories,
Haunting...
Every need in me!
I've got to move.
I've got to move...
From memories,
Haunting...
Every need in me.
I've got to move.
I've got to move.
I've got to move...
From memories,
Haunting...
Every need in me.

My Water Just Broke
Im poetically pregnant, like i keep opening my mouth, giving birth to rhymes, giving birth to metaphors like 'children, who is your daddy? '
i remember making love to OpenMike, a few weeks later, i fell hard for QBase.
One of these two impregnated me.
Love of my life: BassGuitar fully supports my newborn words.
Motherhood couldnt be this better.
#i gotta run, my water just broke.

Haunting Forevermore
How should I know?
I am not the one to try for treason!
Hide behind lies and distorted histories.
Create your own symbolic dieties.
And still gluttony and your greed,
Will not set you free.
I am not the one to try for treason!
Live high and mighty on the hog of resources,
You have come to hoard.
But those objects and things you have come to adore,
Will become worthless when they rust.
Dripping like a fine slime to ooze on your front door.
I am not the one to try for treason!
And your own thoughts can no longer be trusted.
With those endless hours and days,
You believed would never betray...
To repay,
Those of you who have 'preyed'.
With a knock you can choose to ignore.
If you wish.
Haunting. Haunting. Haunting forevermore.
Inside your mind and this can not be dismissed.
Never again with an assistance like before.
Haunting.
Haunting.
Haunting,
Forevermore!
I am not the one to try for treason!
'Grandpa? Snap out of it!
Are there anymore 'Gummy Bears' left?
Or not?
That's all I asked! '

Shut my Mouth
There are those whom wish
I would just shut my mouth.
For my words cut them to
the bone when I speak of
an abuse child. Or a person
drowning in the sea of his or
her own addiction. They real
wish I would shut my mouth when
I speak of equality for all. Also when
talk about suffrage one goes through
from AIDS, Cancer to Death. I done had my
words crumbled in thrown back in my face.
I have been given looks as if they want to shove
my words back down my throat until I choked on them.
But for all those who want me to shut my mouth I have
got three times as many who want me to speak.
So speak I will. As long as I got something to say I will speak.
And only when I don’t have anymore to say is when I will
Shut My Mouth.
Fathers And Daughters
Fathers and daughters share a special bond
That no amount of time will sever
It will last a lifetime and beyond
A daughter should be happy forever
Hearing 'I love you daddy' makes your day
And all the hardships seem worthwhile
Your darling daughter in whose heart you'll stay
Can make you happy with only her smile
A father is a daughter's first love in life
And she doesn't mind sharing him with her mother
Growing up so fast then one day herself a wife
Now her father has to share her love with another

I Don't Know if I Like It
Why,
Are you in my mind...
More,
Than I'd like to admit.
More,
Than I can resist.
I don't know if I like it.
And...
Why,
Can't I find the time...
To,
Determine the reason or the rhyme...
You are in my mind,
Haunting.
You're haunting every move regardless what I do.
Haunting all my moods,
No matter what I choose...
You are there.
You are,
Everywhere.
Why,
Are you in my mind...
More,
Than I'd like to admit.
More,
Than I can resist.
I don't know if I like it.
Even in my dreams...
And I don't know if I like it.
Even my routines...
And I don't know if I like,
You are there.
You are everywhere.
In different scenes I see,
You are there everythere within me...
Haunting.
Why,
Are you in my mind...
More,
Than I'd like to admit.
More,
Than I can resist.
I don't know if I like it.
Or why it is invited...
To live and breathe so deep in me.
