But one day, when I was still young, I was parted from my family and left my native country. I hunted and searched for music, and destiny turned me into the object of my hunt. The circumstances of life became my 'antlers' and prevented me from returning home.

R
Because he called the forest brother
Because he called the earth his mother
They drove him out into the rain
Some people even said the boy from the country was insane
Because he spoke with fish in the creek
He tried to tell us that the animals could speak
Who knows, perhaps they do
How do you know they dont
Just because theyve never spoken to you
Boy from the country, he left his home when he was young
Boy from the country, he loves the sun
He tried to tell us that we should love the land
We turned our heads and laughed
And we did not understand
Sometimes I think that the boy from the country
Is the only one who sees
Because the boy from the country
Doesnt want to see the forest for the trees
Boy from the country, he left his home when he was young
Boy from the country, he loves the sun

I, The Soldier
I killed a man today, did not know his name
I did not know his history, I am the one to blame
I searched his pocket for grenades and guns
Found a photo of his three little children having fun
His body is lying there still and cold, no breath of air
I look in his eyes, I am not allowed to ask if it's fair
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt
I am glad I am alive and I am longing to meet my wife
My child who must be waiting for me, they are my life
I wish I could hug them, cuddle them for eternity
Till I could feel the distance no more sneaking inside of me
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt
I have not seen my home for months and it is eating me inside
I have forgotten the taste of food and the looks of a butter knife
I am loaded with weapons and ammunitions push my shoulders down
But I have to walk, for my country, for my state, for my town
We don't sleep sound at night with the fears of confrontation
Now my rifle is my body part and bullets are my bourbon
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt
I don't want to kill anybody, it haunts me
At night I can feel their spirit, hallucinations I see
I look in the mirror and see only blood and corpses around
The cries of widows and orphans is the only sound
The nights are scary with in my sleep deprived eyes
The days are frightening trying to save what's left of my life
But I have to be strong because I am a soldier at front
And I fight for my countrymen and I am a part of this man hunt
I do this for my country but when I will be back
No one thanks me, there is no one to pat my back
They don't realize the nights I have lost so they could sleep
The wounds I have endured so that they could have treats
They don't see the picture, they are just happy for a movie
When hundred lost lives so that they can be free
I begin to wonder, if it is really overrated to be a soldier
The picture must be worth a thousand words and much bigger
I wonder who am I, what am I doing away from home, my home
But I fight, because I am a soldier, a protector of the prone
I am the righteous protecting what is right and worthy of dying for
I live for my family, I die for my country, my men, my corps.

Tearin Up The Country
Playin a pavilion on the outskirts of town,
Playin where my roller derby rolls.
Just a part time music man, a nobody at the plant,
Im tearin up the country with a song.
Mom and papa told me son, you gotta go to school;
Only way to make the famly proud.
I paid no attention, left my books at home,
Rather play my music real loud.
Tearin up the country with a song.
Tearin up the country with a song.
I paid no attention, left my books at home,
Rather play my music real loud.
Play it loud, now! woo!
Tearin up the country with a song.
Tearin up the country with a song.
I paid no attention, left my books at home,
Rather play my music real loud.
Ran into a dry spell, seemed nowhere to go.
Good luck turned the tide, Im on my way.
I remember loadin big trucks when the summer sun was hot,
You know I could still be there, but Im not.
Tearin up the country with a song.
Tearin up the country with a song.
I remember loadin big trucks when the summer sun was hot,
You know I could still be there, but Im not.
Tearin up the country with a song.
Im tearin up the country with a song.
I remember loadin big trucks when the summer sun was hot,
You know I could still be there, but Im not.

Im but a lad, oh for Im twenty, tuned in to dreaming
Gazing at your sign, for mad men only, my poets screaming
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
Take me to the wild black seas of madness, the savage dancer
Clothe me in insanity and leave me, to find the answer
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you
I searched for you, but I cant find you

Back Home
(dieter bohlen)
Producer for bonnie: dieter bohlen
Recorded in 1994, bonnies last single on the hansa label. this single was to promote the comeback singles collection 90-94. lyrics taken from careful listening.
I dream of home again
A thousand voices call to me
A cry that splits the night
Woke up the soul inside my memories
I chose to walk alone
To search and find my destiny
So many lonesome roads
Lead me away from where I long to be
When I awake and see a cold and empty room
I sit alone and think of places I once knew
The friends that I had loved and left behind
Oh, how could I have been so blind?
Back home
Where all the love is that I need
Where all my family waits for me
Back home
I close my eyes and I can see
Where the river meets the sea
Back home
There is no better place than home for me
cause home is where Ill find my destiny
Im going home again and I just cant wait to see
The folks that I have missed
A mothers tender kiss, so soft, so sweet
Ill hold her in my arms, like Id never let her go
My familys my home and I will tell them that I love them so
Oh I know Ive been away so very long
That I hurt you when I left and I was wrong
And I see that home is where my heart belongs
So hang on heart, cause her I come
Back home
Where all the love is that I need
Where all my family waits for me
Back home
I close my eyes and I can see
Where the river meets the sea
Back home
There is no better place than home for me
cause home is where Ill find my destiny
Back home
Where all the love is that I need
Where all my family waits for me
Back home
I close my eyes and I can see
Where the river meets the sea
Back home
There is no better place than home for me
cause home is where Ill find my destiny
Back home

All i got to my name.
All I got to my name,
Is my music
It's all i ever am
and all i will be
you can't take it away
it's all i got to my name
My music is my life
my music is my love
my music is my fire on a cold day
my music is my castle where i stay all the day
my music is home
where i feel safe
It's all I got to my name
don't you dare take it away
it's what makes me me and not you
My music is my best friend
my music is my nae
it's all I own that matters to me
My music is all i got to my name
no family
no friends
all i need is my music
I need nothing but my music
it's what I do all the day
all I can say
My music My music
all i got to my name...

Put Some Drive In Your Country
Well I was raised on country classics
Like Roy Acuff and George Jones
Lord I loved to hear 'em
Sing all them old time country songs
But I really got excited 'bout the time I turned 15
That's the first time I heard Waylon and old Bocephus sing
They put some drive in their country that really turned me on
Yeah, put some drive in your country
Keep country drivin' on
When the music gets you movin'
You know that can't be wrong
Every time I hear that outlaw stuff on my car radio
It makes me wanna drive it just as fast as it will go
Put some drive in your country
Let's keep country drivin' on
We played some shows in Atlanta on Sunday afternoons
The gigs were packed and I was nervous
Cause I wanted folks to like my tunes
The crowds were full of younger people
They were all about my age
So I turned and told the band just before we walked on stage
Put some drive in your country fellas
We turned those people on
Yeah, put some drive in your country
Keep country drivin' on
When the music gets you dancin'
You know that can't be wrong
See I made myself a promise when I was just a kid
I'd mix southern rock and country and that's just what I did
Put some drive in your country
Keep country drivin' on
Put some drive in your country
Hey, let's keep country drivin' on
When the music gets you movin'
You know that can't be wrong
I still love old country
I ain't tryin' to put it down
Damn I miss Duanne Allman
I wish he was still around
Put some drive in the country
Keep country drivin' on
Put some drive in the country
Let's keep country drivin' on

FILIPINO OFWs
Filipinos abroad working for their family
While sharing in the growth of the country
Are often called the “makabagong bayani”
With their immense help in the economy.
Even to my own and ever dearest family
You’re family is indeed our own bayani
For the kindness you’ve shared unselfishly
Helped us a lot in the needs of our family.
Life here in our very own land and destiny
Is becoming harder and harder everyday
With the crisis besetting our economy
And poor peace and order in the country.
I do wish that we’ll have the opportunity
To follow you in your foreign destiny
Through our siblings who want someday
To find a greener pasture in other country.
People like you whose God is in their family
And so faithful in the call of the Almighty
To share their love for the poor and needy
Radiate prudent act of greatness and nobility.
Everyday we fervently pray to the Almighty
For your good health, fortune and safety
As we harbor to treasure your great sympathy
And kindness which you gave unselfishly.

Gray-Eyed King
Glory to you, inescapable pain!
The gray-eyed king died yesterday.
The autumn evening was sultry and red,
My husband returned and quietly said:
'You know, they brought him back from the hunt,
They found his corpse by the old oak tree.
I pity the queen. He was so young!..
In just one night her hair turned white.'
He found his pipe on the mantelpiece
And went out to his nighttime shift.
I'll go and wake my daughter now,
I'll look into her little gray eyes.
While outside the rustling poplars say:
'Your king is no longer upon this earth…'
Another translation.
By Yevgeny Bonver:
The Grey-Eyed King
Hail! Hail to thee, o, immovable pain!
The young grey-eyed king had been yesterday slain.
This autumnal evening was stuffy and red.
My husband, returning, had quietly said,
'He'd left for his hunting; they carried him home;
They'd found him under the old oak's dome.
I pity the queen. He, so young, past away!...
During one night her black hair turned to grey.'
He found his pipe on a warm fire-place,
And quietly left for his usual race.
Now my daughter will wake up and rise --
Mother will look in her dear grey eyes...
And poplars by windows rustle as sing,
'Never again will you see your young king...'

The Garden of Eden.
The house becomes a home,
When the hearts play the same,
Music of symphony to accommodate,
Various flowers in a bouquet,
Same or different colored, arranged,
In the wet responsible sponged basket,
Different blossoms of different sizes,
Shades, length and textures,
It looks pleasant to the viewers,
A family makes a home sweeter,
The hearts connect all as wires,
Harmony has to pass through,
To lit the light of life and love,
Caring others is the only switch,
To keep the home in a high niche,
Lack of responsibility dries up,
The life in a family, the hatred,
In words and deeds disconnect,
The flow of peace in our destiny,
Each one of us love our family,
More than we love ourselves,
The earth will be the Garden of Eden,
Where the satanic snake no more hidden..

If You Have Not Lived
An unfortunate set of events and circumstances.
A tragedy in its truest form.
Memories so cold yet they are still warm.
Some say his death could have been prevented.
But I know not how one could stop the stars from aligning that night.
Digging into the past can be traumatic.
Digging into the past can also be fantastic.
A heart felt thought of who you were back then.
What you did, who you loved.
A fun time that got blurred as you moved on.
We drift from one life to the next.
Sometimes one is more innocent of the mistakes made.
Ignorance is never a valid excuse if abused.
Repetition is the music that continues to beat.
Destiny is an eye opening ride so just take a seat.
Take it all in.
Be completely aware of all our surroundings.
Take part in it.
For we know not how long it will last.
Time leaves the the wind still.
A motionless body of a image that happen so fast.
No control over what we will see when we close our eyes.
To tell ourself otherwise is just another lie.
Putting colors into the skies
We not only must survive, but must put meaning to what we left behind.
What is an explanation without reason?
How many times will we see these changes in the seasons?
We will not know if its of a life not lived.

Just As The Tide Was A Flowing
[ music: traditional/lyric: arranged by 10,000 maniacs ]
On one morning
In the month of may
When all the birds
Were singing
I saw a lovely maiden stray
Across the fields at break of day
She softly sung her roundelay
The tide flows in
The tide flows out
Twice every day returning
Her cheeks were red
Her eyes were brown
Her hair in ringlets hanging down
Upon her face to hide the frown
Just as the tide was a flowing
The tide flows in
The tide flows out
Twice everyday returning
A sailors wife at home must bide
She halted heavily she sighed
He parted from poor me , a bride
Im widowed by the sea she cried
Just as the tide was a flowing
The tide flows in
The tide flows out
Twice every day returning

Destiny Leads The Way
All through your great life journey you follow your destiny
And where you are living at today is where you are meant to be
And whether you live in your Hometown or from there live far away
It all goes back to destiny where you are at today
We make our own decisions and for our mistakes we pay
Yet in the course of our destiny we do not have a say
From the moment we are born our pathways through life are paved
And the destinies of our life's journeys in our souls are engraved
Though many will tell you differently they say our life's journey is our own choice
But destiny the silent one never does heed advice
And even those who do not believe in it follow it every day
Where-ever their journeys take them to destiny leads the way
And whether you travel far from home or live in your own country-side
Destiny of seven letters your life's journey decide.

I take a bus that goes to Vryburg
I take a bus that goes to Vryburg
from Pretoria station
and there are people about me
and we are all caught
in a own world
with destiny on which everything depends
and cornfields flash by
and the bus roars on past some ruins.
I take a bus that goes to Vryburg
and the road winds like a snake,
teenagers are listening to music
in a own world
and I am going to Vryburg to collect a car,
I see a man with wild bushy hair
and there are people about me
who click together
and we drive through the main street of a town,
teenagers are listening to music
and everyone tells something of his or her hurt,
even the younger generation.
I take a bus that goes to Vryburg
and a young girl looks somewhat desperate
with innocent beauty
and we drive through the main street of a town,
and she gets scared and more scared
without any intimidation
and there are people about me
on whom family wait in Vryburg
and she is going to her parent’s home
with innocent beauty,
and she prays to have a life again
and wears plain clothes.
I take a bus that goes to Vryburg
and there are people about me
and she is pregnant and can call nowhere home
and we are all caught
and she is going to her parent’s home
with destiny on which everything depends.

Native Daughters Of The Golden West
In ecstasy they cry to know
If their parents love will let them grow
Their mothers pride, their fathers joy
We thank the stars that theyre not boys
The native daughters of the golden west
Their beauty is priceless
As children do they stayed at home
Waiting for the day that they were grown
The future seemed so far away
But every night theyd kneel and pray
But all in all they did their best
And one by one they left the nest
Across the globe they searched for love
And put their faith in God above
The native daughters of the golden west
Theyre made out of light
We never would have guessed
So by and by their dreams came true they fell in love with boys they knew
Their children grew fed from the breast
Of the native daughters of the golden west
The native daughters of the golden west
They talk all day
But we were not impressed
The native daughters of the golden west
Theyre sisters of mercy
Theyll grant your last request

Chasing Their Dreams
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
And when anyone has material things,
That glistens their bling...
A way is found to obtain them,
Legitimately.
Or, clandestine to shine in their minds.
'Cause...
No one can intervene or prevent,
One who is chasing dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
Or stop them if they could.
No one can or prevent one who is...
Chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would,
If they...
Thought they could.
And then a time comes when achievements,
Have been done...
That one will wish for a life simplistic,
With someone.
Remembered from a past that was happy and basic,
But...
They left them fast to chase,
After their dreams.
OH...
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
OH...
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
And today a basicness is wished,
But...
No one or anyone prevented them,
From chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.
Today a basicness is wished,
But...
Chasing their dreams,
Left them...
Caught up in schemes.
And...
No one could prevent them,
From...
Chasing their dreams...
No!
No one would.
No!
No one could.

Country Love
This song appears on two albums, and was first released on the some days are diamonds album, and has also been released on the country roads collection album.
Nashville tears are lonely signs that point to broken hearts
Broken lives and families that love has split apart
Children who miss daddy, mommys on the run
The pleasure that is painful and hidden from the sun
Nashville hearts are lonely words that speak of love gone wrong
Sad and soulful stories and beautiful love songs
Foe each and every melody of happiness denied
You know that theres another one that shows the other side
Country love is kisses in the kitchen
Country love is honest and its true
Country love is home with your family
County loves the way that I love you
Country love is silky nights and warm familiar hands
Someone whos been there before and always understands
Nashville nights are lonely roads that weve all travelled on
Sometimes they take you far away or they can bring you home
If youre lost out on the highway, do not deny the dove
When nashville nights the question, the answers country love
Country love is kisses in the kitchen
Country love is honest and its true
Country love is home with your family
County loves the way that I love you
Country love is kisses in the kitchen
Country love is honest and its true
Country love is home with your family
County loves the way that I love you

Object
You know you turn me on
Eyes so white and legs so long
But don't try to talk to me
I won't listen to your lies
You're just an object in my eyes
You're just an object in my eyes
Sophisticated smile
You seduce in such fine style
But don't try to fool me
'cause i can see through your disguise
You're just an object in my eyes
You're just an object in my eyes
But i don't mind
I just don't care
I've got no objection
To you touching me there
Object object
Object object
Object object
Object object
You know just what to do
Lick your lips
And i want you
But don't try to hold me
'cause i don't want any ties
You're just an object in my eyes
You're just an object in my eyes
But i don't mind
I just don't care
I've got no objections
To you touching me there
You're just an object object

You're just an object

The Letters
i had a problem on my mind,
the answer to which was hard to find.
i tossed and turned throughout the night
and a knot in my stomach, which i could not fight.
i layed in bed, just abiding my time
waiting for daylight to arrive.
morning finally did come, sleep i had gotten some.
i got up out of bed, picked up the letter
that yesterday i had read.
there it was plain as day.
'sweetheart i love you, but i can't stay.
i must find what i am destined to do.
even if i must hurt my family and you.
i do not want to have a regret on my mind
because i did'nt get up to try.
so i leave you with my heart in hand
it was'nt something that i had planned.
i know that it will hurt my family and you
for i am going through the same hurt too.
you showed me all the beauties in the world
and i grew just like a pearl, but just like a pearl
i have to be shown and admired, and other
hearts, to be set on fire.
so i leave with tears in my eyes, and i must abide my time.
'this is the letter that i had read.'
and my heart was torn and bled.
weeks went by without a word, and to her family
she was not heard.
then i received a letter today, and in it she did say:
i searched the big cities and the towns
but the love i had gotten from all of you, was not to be found.
i did find something that touched my heart
and in me, has become a big part.
the love of a blind child, who was born without sight
who touched my heart with so much might.
he touched my face with his hands, and pulled them back right away
and with that he did say:
i am blind and i can not see, but i feel so much
pain etched in your face, and you left loved
ones without a trace.
you left loved ones with your heart in your hands
and it's something that they can not understand.
you left in search of something that you had all along
and that was a place that you could belong.
i survive because of the love that is shown
and eyes i do not need to see, something that may be hurting me.
if you are searching for something more
then go help the NEEDY AND POOR.
they need love and comfort too, and they belong to me and you.
i turned from the child and AGAIN ran away.
then that night to the LORD i cried and prayed.
when i fell asleep that night, in my dream
all of you were in plain sight.
all of you were beckoning me home, and your broken
hearts were shown.
so i ask you on bended knees, help me with what i've seen.
help me to help the poor, for this is my destiny
of which i'm sure.
she came home and we did marry, and now my baby she carries.
we are helping all in need, for in her
GOD did plant the seed.
