Emeka
I do hope that you've married Ayo by now,
Or you are now with another woman!
Emeka my friend, how many children do you have as at now?
And, how is life faring on with you over there in Nigeria?
Have you also become a Diplomat under 'Unicef'? !
Then tell me more when you get this message;
For it is now time to rock your muse with the ladies around you.

Street children
Where are their parents?
Are they gone with the wind?
Their offspring eat fluorescent tubes,
Cut their hands, do acrobats and beg something for their daily bread.
These trample flowers sleep on the roads under the helpless sky
And in their dreams of paradise no angels exist.
But the sex abusers peep in friendly manner.

On Children’s Day
On Children’s Day*
Empower the childhood for bright future,
Let not penury their geniality butcher.
In them our future make secure,
Lest disease and disgust them devour.
Let the child bloom with pride
If man wants to take big strides.
Let not the child by hunger damned,
Let child labor everywhere be banned.
Let us amend the law of land,
For joyous childhood take a stand.
Free knowledge enlighten as they grow,
Let the stream of happy humanity flow.
‘Child is the father of man’ we know
Let childhood bound in piety glow.

Identity Of Moment
At twelve of night philosopher thinks with a cup of tea
At twelve of night exuded in dream
At twelve of night cloud of blue sky burns
At twelve of night strip by strip waves fall to ground
At twelve of night full moon flashes of light
At twelve of night horn of car strikes on door
At twelve of night couple enters into dwell of love
At twelve of night loud cry of progenitors comes
At twelve of night machinegun of devilish roars
At twelve of night whistles of train strikes
At twelve of night the red sun of monument raises.

Builders
They dig and dig to excavate
All their wet hopes... then
To heave their comforts of bricky dreams
Step by step upping... then
To untie their turbanned head
Spread to recline and lunch... then
To chat and sing to the transistor hopefully
Joking for an Ambassador car... then
To complete the stair-flight back with their tools
Heaving their hopes in air for a month or so... then
The mason back to his bungalow
His family back to next excavate hopes and Ambassador car

Twelve Years
It’s been twelve
Years, I’ve been
Feeding him
My bosom,
Yet his thirst
Remains
Unquenchable,
As my first night
With him.
And I thought,
Twelve years
Is a long time
To get used to,
And get over,
A woman’s bosom.

What Are You Doing New Years Eve
Maybe its much too early in the game
Ah, but I thought Id ask you just the same
What are you doing new years
New years eve?
Wonder whose arms will hold you good and tight
When its exactly twelve oclock that night
Welcoming in the new year
New years eve
Maybe Im crazy to suppose
Id ever be the one you chose
Out of a thousand invitations
Youd receive
Ah, but in case I stand one little chance
Here comes the jackpot question in advance
What are you doing new years
New years eve?
Wonder whose arms will hold you good and tight
When its exactly twelve oclock that night
Welcoming in the new year
New years eve
What are you doing new years eve?

The function of a briefing paper is to prevent the ambassador from saying something dreadfully indiscreet. I sometimes think its true object is to prevent the ambassador from saying anything at all.
