I never expected in a million years that I would have the honor to become an advocate of women's health care and education, and I'd dive on a live grenade to get this message out, so thank you for this forum.

The Bench and the Blonde in Black
His Honor walked into the shop
For of shopping his Honor was fond.
Did she blush? Did her eyes indicate shy surprise
In that slim little, trim little blonde?
Did his bachelor heart miss a beat?
Did she flash him a smile as she turned?
Did his Honor smile back at this vision in black?
Said his Honor, 'The case is adjourned.'
His Honor walked into his court.
Said the advocate, 'Shop-ladies lack
Much appeal, I submit, when these dark frocks they fit -'
Said his Honor, 'I like 'em in black.
Yes, I like 'em in black when they're blonde.
And I am not concerned with the cost.
It's a question of taste; and I've no time to waste.'
Said his Honor, 'Your action is lost.'
His Honor walked into the church.
'I will,' breathed his Honor, and beamed
On his blonde who, alack, was no longer in black,
For in ivory satin she gleamed.
Said the clergyman, 'Say after me -'
Said his Honor, 'My true wedded wife. . .
Er - at - sickness and health....and - er - all worldly wealth....'
Said his Honor, 'The sentence is life.'
His Honor walked up and walked down,
Sobbed the blonde, 'But you don't seem to care!
Why, my grey, pink and green are not fit to be seen;
And I haven't a rag fit to wear!
And you always did say I looked nice
In black suits? Twenty guineas? What fun!'
Then she smiled, kissed his neck, as he wrote out the cheque.
Sighed his Honor, 'Your suit, dear, is won.'

One of the critical issues that we have to confront is illegal immigration, because this is a multi-headed Hydra that affects our economy, our health care, our health care, our education systems, our national security, and also our local criminality.

The message of women's liberation is that women can love each other and ourselves against our degrading education.
In addition, I'll be attending women's health expos and medical conferences with the goal to promote dialogue between women and their health-care providers.

Furthermore, we believe that health care reform, again I said at the beginning of my remarks, that we sent the three pillars that the President's economic stabilization and job creation initiatives were education and innovation - innovation begins in the classroom - clean energy and climate, addressing the climate issues in an innovative way to keep us number one and competitive in the world with the new technology, and the third, first among equals I may say, is health care, health insurance reform.

One state retiree, 49 years old, paid, over the course of his entire career, a total of $124,000 towards his retirement pension and health benefits. What will we pay him? $3.3 million in pension payments over his life and nearly $500,000 for health care benefits - a total of $3.8m on a $120,000 investment.

Our government has made a number of promises to the men and women who served in our nation's armed forces. Sadly, these promises of health care, education and other benefits have existed more in rhetoric than in reality.

Women see they aren’t free
Women fail to assert the freedom in sex
That the pioneers have won for them.
Though they are certainly aware
That it is only their choice
That keeps this freedom from them,
They are still afraid of using it.
Most likely their daughters too follow suit
As these women would not advocate to them
The freedom they feared to employ for themselves
And the freedom their mothers were deprived of.
Women take care of each other that they aren’t free.

Take Care Of Your Health
Stop using it,
Stop eating it,
Stop taking it,
And take care of yourt health;
For, it is better to live longer than to die so early!
You need the clean food in life,
You need the clean water in life,
You need to take care of your health in the right way;
For death is just at the corner waiting for our own mistakes!
So, take care of your health and live longer.

Black Friday or Condemnation Day
It is darkest and black historical day
It has to be condemned as black Friday
Many people and clergies have come out in open protest
The preachers and defender of religion have called it as bad test
Any religion can never be against women
That is for all good reason can not be the best interest
If females are to be brought up with care
With full sympathy and education everywhere
That may make them to understand of the basic values
Of religion and culture and also of their dues
What one can expect under the hegemony?
Of male domination not advocated by an almighty
Never in history has it been condemned
Whole of the country (Pakistan) has raised voice and damned
The clergies and others have supported the women education
The women are asset and honor in relation
The sentiments are hurt and country is united
No where women are harassed and subjected
To such cruelty on the name of old customs
It is in no way appreciated and spoke of wisdom
Malal Yousuf Zia* may go down in history as pioneer
Women's champion and stalwart for ages to remember
It is her role that has bought honor to the women
It is nice gesture and united feeling with good omen
Let us all pray for her recovery and well being
The fanatics have threatened death again and bent upon ruining
The moderate people are helpless with such blind approach
Let good counsel prevail and mad rush is avoided as such
Let this Friday go as special mass prayer day
Let people march over in protest and pray
For protection and their honorable elevation
It will then be real and fair equation

Never Give You Up
Theres never been a doubt,
But sometimes I feel afraid.
We need to talk it out;
That always makes it okay.
Sometimes friends dont understand
The love I have for you,
But everywhere I go, I know,
I just want more of you.
I will never give you up, lord,
Not in a million years.
I will never give you up, never give you up,
Not for as long as I live.
I will never give you up, lord,
Not in a million years,
cause you have put this love inside my heart.
(oooo-oooh, oooo-oooh, oooo-oooh.)
I know you know me well;
You know the struggle thats in my mind.
But since you hold my heart,
Ill leave the struggles behind.
I dont have to understand
This love I have for you,
cause everywhere I go, I know,
I just need more of you.
I will never give you up, lord,
Not in a million years.
I will never give you up, never give you up,
For as long as I live.
Im so glad I found you. (so glad I found you.)
Want to build my life around you. (oooo-oooh.)
Oh, youve got to know
That Ill never let go of you. (never let go.)
Oh, I will never give you up, lord,
Not for a million years.
I will never give you up, never give you up,
For as long as I live.
I will never give you up, lord,
Not for a million years,
cause you have put this love inside my heart.
(never give you up, lord,)
For a million years.
I will (never give you up, never give you up,)
For as long as I live.
I will (never give you up, lord,)
For a million years,
cause you have put this love inside my heart.
(never give you up, lord,)
For a million years.
I will (never give you up, never give you up,)
For as long as I live.

Soroptimist International
I have found friends, friends who care,
They live the whole world over.
Women who love life,
Women who are strong,
Women who help women,
Empower, empower, empower.
As a young woman, I needed
Help, encouragement and to be empowed.
I was struggling as a single mom
Working full time and oh so tired
With two children by the hand - when
The Soroptimist Training Award
Chosen, I was chosen, It was mine.
The next semester courses were paid for
With the help I received, no longer did I worry for
I completed my diploma and onward to my goal!
Working hard in social service agencies
Helping others as I could
Finally the day arrived when a Ph.D. was mine.
Thirteen years in private family counselling
Children grown and doing well
I returned to the place where it all started
To Soroptimists and I must tell -
The story of my award and the life it brought to me
Through kind and loving women
Who care when it seems there is no sign.
I am excited with each step
As I learn and go forward
Women teaching women and
Women helping women
It is my time to give
My time to empower women with
An organization I believe in.
To take on the challenges of life
Domestic violence and trafficking
So demoralizing to women and their children
Public education, important as it is
Educate all who will listen to the stats and stories told.
We all know of the hardships women endure
So, give, empower, teach, and train.
Women helping women-
Soroptimists, Soroptimists, Hurray for Soroptimists!

Les Grenadines repentantes
En est-il donc deux dans Grenade
Qui pleurent sur ton seul péché
Ici l'on jette la grenade
Qui se change en un œuf coché
Puisqu'il en naît des coqs Infante
Entends-les chanter leurs dédains
Et que la grenade est touchante
Dans nos effroyables jardins

Preconsent
A mental message is sent
not as to vent
but as to preconsent
Considering a new event
rode out many days before
not really something planned
this preconception of a certain man
i am sure you women understand
a mental message sent
in which way did it...went
Oh, i really do not care
i have a preconcieved dare
but there is nothing for me to compare
just a wild womans dream of
a wild perfect scene
with the woman(me) really and truly queen
touched gentlely everywhere
being touched without fear or dare
is a mental message sent so wrong?
or should i just live my life alone?

If You Could
If you could dive like a penguin…
You could dive off of a triple-high diving board
If you could jump like a cat…
You could jump off of a rooftop and land on your feet
If you could have nine lives like a cat…
You could kill yourself eight times
And live
If you could swing like a monkey…
You could beat every other creature in the world
If you could run like a cheetah…
You could be chased by seven million hunters and never get caught
If you could know what the earth thought and wanted
You could make me happy for life
