I admire Madonna because she always did whatever she felt like doing. She went through some controversial periods when people rejected her, but she kept on reinventing herself.

I get mad at people who talk about traumatic job interviews, about going on one and getting rejected. I get rejected all the time and not only do I get rejected, but people have no problem being really specific about why I was rejected.

Madonna's Old Friend
Little Italian girl would grew up to be
an international singer
and movie star on the silver screen.
Yes, Madonna would become a top pop star
she would tour the world and go quite far.
One of Madonna's NYC dancing friends
is friends with me now she is also Italian.
She was dancing in clubs with Madonna when
Penthouse did Madonna's spread—
Debra is her name and she will defend
Madonna till the end.
Debra collaged lovingly Madonna's photos
since the start of her fame
She also helped do marketing for Madonna's
line Material Girl with care just the same.
Debra is a big fan of Madonna with links
to her videos—
she also sends out links to all of her shows.
Debra admires Madonna very much so
saying 'Madonna got to where she was because
she wouldn't take a no'.

That's the heart of it: My shows were not that controversial with the American people. They were controversial with the people who think for the American people.

I remember I read this harsh review about my show, and one of my friends told me that this was the exact same stuff people said about Madonna. And it's like, she didn't care. Madonna just came out and was herself. I respect that a lot.

Just Like That
All of my life I had observed those,
Who sacrificed...
In the pursuit of their dreams.
And doing what it took,
It seemed.
Even if that meant forever...
Holding onto that,
Wish
In the hope that it would happen!
Up for days and nights.
Sometimes not having a bite to eat.
Some I knew,
Even slept on streets.
Back then when they had them so strong!
And I have come to admire people like that!
People who attacked their obstacles.
People who aren't seeking standing ovations.
People who aren't seeking a title to bear.
People who wear their dignity and pride.
People who keep their dreams alive inside themselves!
People who may cry and hide their tears.
People who for many years...
Hold on to dreams with a smile!
And I have come to admire people like that.
I have come to admire people like that!
People who care sincerely for others.
And sometimes disregarding their own needs.
Sparing their own they could easily declare.
People like that are not everywhere.
And I have come to admire people like that!
Despite their sacrifices.
Inspite of the fact...
That may have gotten themselves off track.
Inspite of that...
They would fight and struggle,
To get themselves right back to continue...
To shuffle or maintain a bustle to hustle on!
I've come to admire them!
And I aspire to be...
Just like that!
Despite any setbacks,
My dreams should be kept alive!

Madonna Whore
What are you thinking when you're looking at me
What can you tell me of reality?
I'm only woman... not just a Fantasy
and the flesh and blood is warmer than some color transparency
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try to reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore, that's right
What are you thinking when you push me away
Was it some promise in your youth you made?
Holding out for something or hoping to be saved
Does it make you feel power or are you just afraid of me?
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try to reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore, that's right
I don't know
if you say so
got so many do's and don'ts my head is spinning
Hey Romeo, j-j-j-just let get go
maybe everything could use a little sinning
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try and reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore
Every woman's a Madonna; every woman's a whore
You can try and reduce me but I'm so much more
I don't want to be your mother; won't be shoved in a drawer
cause every woman's a Madonna, every woman's a whore, that's right
You can try to reduce me but I'm so much more

Into The Hollywood Groove (feat. Missy Elliott)
[Madonna]
Everybody comes to Hollywood
They wanna make it in the neighbourhood
They like the smell of it in Hollywood
How could it hurt you when it looks so good
[Missy Elliott]
Ohh, who that be, Misdemeanor on the M-I-C
I got the fresh kicks, thick hips, best believe me
And Madonna bout to hit em like a tag team
You gonna love us in our Gap Jeans
We walk by, people ask 'where you get them jeans'
On fire call emergency, G-A, capital P
You know how we, and let me go and do my thing
I'll bring ya hard on the track if ya know what I mean
Hollywood and New York, Madonna is the queen
And Misdemeanor say Gap is the best
[Madonna]
Get into the groove, let me show you some move
Best to take it from me, yeah
Get up on your feet
Let me step to the beat
Show you how it should be
Get into the groove
Let me show you some move
Best to take it from me
Get into the groove

The Raven And The Dove
there once was a raven
black as the sky
similiar to that of the night when nothing did shine
there once was a dove
pure and white
found herself with a dreadful plight
felt so hollow
could barely swallow
she flew up to where the raven sat
enquired as to whether they could have a chat
- NOT FINISHED -

New Madonna
I see you out on the dancefloor shaking around
I see you out on an empty beach
I see you walking a one way street
It's the same as always
A star
Maybe you are
A star
Maybe you are
A new Madonna
In a way I can hear myself say
What is it worth
I say we meet on the last place on earth
It's insane
As always
Maybe you are
A star
Maybe you are
A new Madonna
Is this the only way
You make it like a new Madonna.

The untold love
The love expressed
Only can be rejected.
The love withheld
Cannot be rejected.
There are more people
Who haven’t let their love
Lest it gets rejected.

I'm always told that what I say is controversial. Why is it controversial? Because I speak from a tradition that has now fallen out of favor with the dominant media in this country. And so when I say things like marriage should be between one man and one woman, I'm called a bigot.

Incentive
There is so much incentive,
For one who reinvents!
There is an exploration done...
For many that makes no sense.
There is a task to find new ways,
To stretch a curious mind.
And sometimes doing that creates,
An uneasiness one finds!
But when it settles in and others see it,
As it is.
They come to see it as positive inducement,
Since incentives aren't negative!
'Huh? '
There is so much incentive,
For one who...
'No! Not that part.
The part about reinventing.
What are you 'reinventing'?
My incentive!
'Oh! '

Why it hurts so
The world is a controversial place,
We don’t mean what we say.
Does yes really mean yes;
Are words just barbaric plays?
We create exquisite phrases
That inspires us, warms us within.
But it seems this hope is just fleeting;
And soon to collapse, all demolished.
We tell our young fairy stories,
Grotesque for real they might be.
But in life there are no fairy tales—
Stories are not modified for you and me.
The world is a controversial place,
Especially here, in the human world.
Sympathy is only practiced limitedly,
While self-intrest is our main goal.
The world is a controversial place,
It applies just too right for me.
“For Dreams, we live, ” This was my motto.
But now,
It shatters me.
Madonna
Madonna eyes,
looking down
to the beating heart
held in hands so gentle....
loving, molding, preparing
him for the pathway
to his personal cross....
Madonna tears,
falling warm and wet,
down the face that maps
the destinies of those that suffer....
tears that have names,
known by no other....
nailed one by one till death relieves.
Madonna hope,
wrapped in flesh and longing,
head bowed down,
as if to pray!
