We know how to speak many falsehoods that resemble real things, but we know, when we will, how to speak true things.

Wasteland
Can you see us now were on our own
And every chance has just come and just gone
Now it looks so dark and so cold
Think of the minds we sold
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
I can remember things that looked so bright
And I could talk to you without all this spite
Can you picture all thats past
Does your face deform so fast
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
'cause when I stop and look into your head
I think of all the things that you said
When I look up into your eyes
I see the creature that I despise
Kill now
Kill now
Kill now
Kill now
Can you see us now were on our own
And every chance has just come and gone
Ive been wrong but youve been unkind
Theres so much more that I cant find
Wasteland
Wasteland
Wasteland...

Speak With Kindness (Or Do Not Speak At All)
speak with kindness,
or do not speak at all.
speak not of judgement,
you are not the judge.
speak not of salvation,
let your living be your scriptures.
speak not of scriptures,
let your actions be your holy book.
speak not as apostle or teacher,
speak as a human being.
speak not of god,
then god will speak through you!
speak not as a man,
for you are woman too.
speak not with hateful malice,
for love does not work that way.
speak not as a prophet or seer,
speak as compassion made flesh.
speak not of morality,
speak of connection.
speak not of authority,
the tree and the leaf have just as much.
speak not of holiness,
for all that lives be holy.
speak with kindness...
or do not speak at all!

Her Words
When you speak your falsehoods,
You speak of her words!
Because there is no truth in her and,
She is a lair!

The Same Story, The same History
...and so the same story is told
the same history is made....
why always speak of descrimination
why always speak of war
why always speak of class
why always speak of injustice
why always speak of poverty
why always speak of rebellion....
why not speak of equality
why not speak of peace
why not speak of respect
why not speak of wisdom
why not speak of production
why not speak of working together...
...and so the same story is told
the same history is made.

Jilted Tongue
Growing up in this time,
So many things rushing around us,
We see things one should never see,
We hear what one should never hear.
And still when we know it is wrong,
We speak with a jilted tongue.
As we grow old we see again,
The truth of the wicked that has polluted our minds,
And we sink into a shadow hiding from it all,
And we try to clear our mind of hate and of wrong,
But still the past is there,
Still we remember a time we spoke with a jilted tongue.
Remember who you are as you see what is all around you,
Believe in what you are and what you can be by following what's true,
Never look at things you see that no one should see,
Never listen to the things you hear that no one should hear,
Know that it is wrong,
And do not speak with jilted tongue.

Everyone Everywhere
At the end of the day,
there's no food on our plate.
So we beg and we steal,
for we know love is real.
And if we don't take a chance,
in a spare sideways glance.
These are all the chains I wanted,
to justify the things I do.
And when we kiss we speak as one,
and in a single breath this world is gone.
And when we kiss we speak as one.
With a single breath this world is gone.
It's a crisis I know,
at the end of the show.
People change but we don't falter,
'cause we know love is real.
This is no place to shiver,
so get up off the grass.
You were once the main attraction,
but all that's in the past.
How much is free,
for me and you?
I'm on my knees,
I am a fool.
But when we kiss we speak as one.
With a single breath this world is gone.
(this world is gone).
How could I fail to give her,
when she cried such a lot.
People change but we don't falter,
'cause we use what we've got.
And when we kiss we speak as one.
With a single breath this world is gone.
And when we kiss we speak as one.
With a single breath this world is gone.
(this world is gone)
(this world is gone)
(this world is gone

Sonnet: On Revealing to One’s Spouse
I love to tell my spouse all things I want;
I wish to divulge everything I know;
Many a time, I’m sure, I simply can’t!
I’m forced to hide some things from her (him) oh!
Soon after marriage, things are always fine;
Yet, troubles crop up faster than we think;
One lie soon leads to another in line;
There are some things, we dare not speak or ink.
Alas! This is life’s sad reality;
Yet, no one can be blamed for what happens;
Most things are not kept secret purposely;
We are compelled by circumstances tense.
Open your heart to spouse, nevertheless-
That only can give you true happiness!

Speak The Word
Unsettled hearts
Promise what they cant deliver
Bring me the wine
And the cold night air to clear my head
Gray matter memory house
Master of this trembling flesh
Steady still my doubts
Let me speak the word that precedes bliss
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
These weakened knees
Have not touched ground or pew in ages
I havent bowed my head
I offer thanks to any God or to ask for favors
But watch me now
Im falling down
Praying
To speak the word that precedes bliss
To speak the word
To speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word

How Do You Speak To An Angel
A son who is cursed with a harridan mother
Or a weak simpering father at best
Is raised to play out the timeless classical motives
Of filial love and incest
How does he speak to a
How does he speak to the prettiest girl
How does he talk to her
What does he say for an opening line
What does he say if hes shy
What do you do with your pragmatic passions
With your classically neurotic style
How do you deal with your vague self-comprehensions
What do you do when you lie
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
How do you speak to her
How do you dance on the head of a pin
When youre on the outside looking in
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
How do you speak to a
How do you speak to the prettiest girl
You just say, hello, (hello) baby (hello)
...
Baby, angel, how do you talk to the prettiest girl, you say
Hello baby, hello baby, angel, angel, pretty little girl
Angel, angel ....

I Shall Speak
I shall speak of rivers
and I shall speak of streams,
And I shall speak of how they flow
and seep into my dreams.
All the waters pure and clean
purify my thought.
I think how marvelous that I've seen
that which can't be bought.
I shall speak of hillsides
and mountains as they rise.
And I shall speak of how they look
and brighten up my eyes.
All the rises grand or small
expand just how I feel.
I think how wonderful that I've known
what no one can conceal.
I shall speak of beauty
and I shall speak of love.
And I shall speak of how they mix
and take me far above
the ordinary happenings
and events that fill my day.
I think how fortunate I have been
when my breath was taken away.

Words between words
Words between words
~
I try and say most things subtle
To slip words between words
In the hope you will read and hear
Sometimes I speak with blunt honesty
Sometimes wish I just didn’t speak
Sketching in secret characters
Telling stories built on fantasy
When a subtle look reveals
The obvious biography
Those words between words
What I write, what I speak
I understand words more than people
Words always seem easy
We all have things we wish to say
Some are said, others kept
All that is written then spoken
Are words between words

Ch 08 On Rules For Conduct In Life - Maxim 06
Three things cannot subsist without three things: property without trade, science without controversy and a country without punishment.
Speak sometimes in a friendly, conciliatory, manly way
Perhaps thou wilt ensnare a heart with the lasso.
Sometimes speak in anger; for a hundred jars of sugar
Will on occasion not have the effect of one dose of colocynth.
Naked In The Jungle
Naked in the jungle, naked to the world
Naked in the jungle, naked to the world
Well, you gotta keep it humble, else itll come unfurled
Lions and the tigers, grazin in the grass
Lions and the tigers, grazin in the grass
As I keep a-watching over, make sure no one can pass
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha. aaaaah!
Speak out, speak out, speak out, speak out
Speak out, speak out, speak out, speak out
Speak out, speak out, speak out, speak out
Speak out, speak out, speak out, speak out
Ya na na na na, ya na na na na, ya na na na na,
Ha ha ha ha
Ya na na na na, ya na na na na, ya na na na na,
Ha ha ha ha
Ya na na na na, ya na na na na, ya na na na na,
Ha ha ha ha
Ya na na na na, ya na na na na, ya na na na na,
Ha ha ha ha
Big fish eat the little fish, and the rabbits on the run
Big fish eat the little fish, and the rabbits on the run
Some folks gettin too much, other just aint gettin none
Naked in the jungle, naked to the world
Naked in the jungle, naked to the world
Well, you gotta keep em humble, else youll come unfurled
Lets go boy!
Ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha. aaaaah!
Speak out, speak out, speak out, speak out
Speak out, speak out, speak out, speak out

We Speak Often
we speak often...
of revolution, yet
we almost never speak,
of the old woman left alone,
her husband dead two years...
who sits in the dark,
and sometimes eats,
and cant see to clean her house.
we speak of peace,
and send troops to liberate,
teaching seperation in our churches.
we speak of hope,
yet horde all we can,
and keep our revolvers loaded.
we speak of justice
in terms of 'i' and 'they'....
and applaud wordplay in our courtrooms...
we speak of equality,
then call each race by name,
and demand that they speak english.
we speak of god as holier than thou...
never understanding dialogue and dissolution....
we speak a lot, yet cannot listen...
what fools we are!

Great abuses in the world are begotten, or, to speak more boldly, all the abuses of the world are begotten, by our being taught to be afraid of professing our ignorance, and that we are bound to accept all things we are not able to refute: we speak of all things by precepts and decisions. The style at Rome was that even that which a witness deposed to having seen with his own eyes, and what a judge determined with his most certain knowledge, was couched in this form of speaking: “it seems to me.” They make me hate things that are likely, when they would impose them upon me as infallible.

I Am!
You don't know who I am,
But I am.
You don't know what I see,
But I see.
You don't know what I speak,
But I say.
As I am me, Today.
I see the things that I want to see,
I hear the things I want to hear,
And I speak the words I want to say,
For I am me, Today.
Though I am like everyone else
Just an Actor in a role
Someday a comic, someday a romantic,
And someday I am my soul.
I can see the things I want to see
Though sometimes I see them wrong
And I say the things I want to say,
Sometimes in rhyme or song.
You don't know who I am,
But I am.
Though you thought you knew me so,
For sometimes I am happy and sometimes mad,
And sometimes I’ll freeze you, for I’m so cold;
I have been many men
Just through the wishes of others,
And when tomorrow comes around once again,
I might, become some other.
Though you know who I am,
I am not.
I am not the one you think I am.
All though you have seen me a lot,
Only I know what's in this Man,
Inside me there is hate, jealousy and vengeance!
But there is also love, warmth and a smile,
And though you've seen them all before,
Only I, can open that door.
Though no one is truly like me,
For many times I am but a man,
And when I look in the mirror in the morning,
I shout and say, I AM!

Do you think that the things people make fools of themselves about are any less real and true than the things they behave sensibly about? They are more true: they are the only things that are true.

If for a tranquil mind you seek,
These things observe with care:
Of whom you speak, to whom you speak,
And how, and when and where.
If for a tranquil mind you seek, These things observe with care Of whom you speak, to whom you speak, And how, and when and where.
