Shouldn't Be
Refuge centres, care homes and the like,
All vying for their cause or plight.
Even the last place like hospices,
Relying on subsidies, to ease last wishes.
Charity for kids abused,
Donation money misused.
Just one story,
Of one charity.
Most are reputable, I'd like to agree,
But money breeds corruption, in our caring society.
An allowed travesty in a democracy.

Snug in your
Central heated homes,
Think others living in cardboard boxes.
Turn down heating and donate money saved to

What should I order an Indian, Chinese, pizza or kebab?
Some are starving –
Would be grateful for a piece of bread.

The kids wait for it to be organized. They want to go play all of these tournaments, for a little practice time. I learned my skills by dropping the puck just with the kids. I think that's missing today.
Lack of oversight A rant
The quality of mercy is not strained.
Today it seems to be more underused.
Charity appeals have us all confused.
The urge to contribute is now constrained
We can’t be sure that anything is gained
We are afraid donations have been misused
Our generosity has been abused
Although we ask no one has explained.
Exactly where the money raised has gone.
Administration costs are far too high.
The doubts I have will linger on
Until somebody can explain why.
and what the money has been spent upon.

Father Christmas
When I was small I believed in santa claus
Though I knew it was my dad
And I would hang up my stocking at christmas
Open my presents and Id be glad
But the last time I played father christmas
I stood outside a department store
A gang of kids came over and mugged me
And knocked my reindeer to the floor

I think we raised about 20,000 pounds. There was a live performance thing so we thought we'd donate the equipment for an online charity in Britain. I hated to part with my guitar, but it was for such a great cause.
