Practice is everythingThis is often misquoted as Practice makes perfect.
Practice is everything. This is often misquoted as Practice makes perfect.
That's What I Said
No!
I have been misquoted.
And frankly...
I am getting sick and tired of it.
I did not say you lacked intelligence.
What I said was...
'How can an imbecile masquerade as a fool.
And have the I.Q. of a grapefruit! '
That's what I said 'verbatim'.
I did not mention anything,
About you lacking intelligence.
Nor that you were waiting for an order,
You placed to be filled online.
But,
It has been delayed.
Another misquote attributed to me.
If I thought you had any intelligence at all,
I'd be the first to tell you that.

Liberty Needs Glasses
excuse me but lady liberty needs glasses
and so does mrs justice by her side
both the broads r blind as bats
stumbling thru the system
justice bumbed into mutulu and
trippin on geronimo pratt
but stepped right over oliver
and his crooked partner ronnie
justice stubbed her big toe on mandela
and liberty was misquoted by the indians
slavery was a learning phase
forgotten with out a verdict
while justice is on a rampage
4 endangered surviving black males
i mean really if anyone really valued life
and cared about the masses
theyd take em both 2 pen optical
and get 2 pair of glasses

The Knight in Disguise
[Concerning O. Henry (Sidney Porter)]
"He could not forget that he was a Sidney."
Is this Sir Philip Sidney, this loud clown,
The darling of the glad and gaping town?
This is that dubious hero of the press
Whose slangy tongue and insolent address
Were spiced to rouse on Sunday afternoon
The man with yellow journals round him strewn.
We laughed and dozed, then roused and read again,
And vowed O. Henry funniest of men.
He always worked a triple-hinged surprise
To end the scene and make one rub his eyes.
He comes with vaudeville, with stare and leer.
He comes with megaphone and specious cheer.
His troupe, too fat or short or long or lean,
Step from the pages of the magazine
With slapstick or sombrero or with cane:
The rube, the cowboy or the masher vain.
They over-act each part. But at the height
Of banter and of canter and delight
The masks fall off for one queer instant there
And show real faces: faces full of care
And desperate longing: love that's hot or cold;
And subtle thoughts, and countenances bold.
The masks go back. 'Tis one more joke. Laugh on!
The goodly grown-up company is gone.
No doubt had he occasion to address
The brilliant court of purple-clad Queen Bess,
He would have wrought for them the best he knew
And led more loftily his actor-crew.
How coolly he misquoted. 'Twas his art —
Slave-scholar, who misquoted — from the heart.
So when we slapped his back with friendly roar
Æsop awaited him without the door, —
Æsop the Greek, who made dull masters laugh
With little tales of fox and dog and calf .
And be it said, mid these his pranks so odd
With something nigh to chivalry he trod
And oft the drear and driven would defend —
The little shopgirls' knight unto the end.
Yea, he had passed, ere we could understand
The blade of Sidney glimmered in his hand.
Yea, ere we knew, Sir Philip's sword was drawn
With valiant cut and thrust, and he was gone.

A Well Crafted Word
Why am I so philosophical, a philosopher a long time ago once wrote.
The song writer, script writer, poet and novelist like to use a great quote.
Some poems are written with a catchy rhyme and a theme.
A well crafted word can help and be a great writers dream.
Everyone knows that the pen is mightier than the sword.
A well crafted word can give the reader great reward.
'A metaphor is just like a simile'; An unknown author once quoted.
It's true about all writers I know, they all hate their words being misquoted.
To writers one and all, a well crafted word is always a must to write down.
Just remember this about all writers, they can make great use of a pronoun.

What Makes Bri Feel Bad....[Personal]
I don't mean (by 'feel bad') unruly, criminal, or mean. I mean disgusted or disappointed, or somewhere in between.
It bothers me to see a person littering, but I still get through the day. If I think someone is wheeling a store's cart home, I really want to say:
'Did the manager give you permission? '.... It seems like stealing in a way.
I feel a little disappointed when the ice cream in carton is finished, and when old age causes a person's quality of life to be diminished. Of course I can buy more ice cream, though Aki may say 'no', and people really can limit how many years...they have left 'to go'.
I feel bad when I'm misquoted, when people try to 'put words in my mouth.' I actually manage to say enough 'bad things'...all by myself. I feel a little 'bad' if an [unnamed] woman complains.... when I raise my voice. I think it's a common trait of many men (Evolution?) : ...do we really have a choice? ?
So now I've told you some of the things that....can make me feel 'bad'. I tried to think of more things but couldn't, and that makes me feel very glad.
{Well, sure there are more things, ……but why dwell on what upsets?
Perhaps the more one dwells on positive things, ...the better one's life gets.}

That Ball They Choose To Bounce
Although they have been persistent,
With requests to free them from limits.
They wish less restrictions of government,
In their perceived over governed lives.
But yet...
During national disasters they expect,
The government to step in quickly...
To save their dreams from floating down streams.
And a catering to their needs immediately.
They protest with voices raised,
That the government intends to 'socialize' their days.
And a capitalistic system already depleted of feeding greed,
Has agreed to respect and honor their pleas.
But yet...
They become surprised and upset,
When cuts to their entitlements are proposed.
To balance a budget needed to impose.
And those who had advocated this,
Begin to poke out their lips.
When it is learned and discovered,
The first on the list is granting the ones insisting...
For those less restricted wishes.
'Someone, somewhere misquoted our desires.
You see...
Our wishes were for you to cut 'their' entitlements.
To leave the ones we deserve to remain intact.'
And that ball they choose to bounce,
To announce themselves independent...
They want it to be bounced back,
To be debated and determined...
As to when specifically that independence begins.

Silence Misquoted
I begged without knowing for your love as a child
I tried to be good, quiet, behave, but for want of a word I was wild.
If you`d asked or questioned or even tried to understand
Maybe taken me in your arms, or held my hand.
If only you`d talked to me, or tried to explain,
The silence was misquoted, it determined my blame.
My mind crushed, heartbroken, a child in care has nothing, no place.
Scared and abandoned, strangers invading my thoughts, my space
I struggled and made lots of childish mistakes,
Learning the hard way. with lifes gives and takes.
My best mistake of all was becoming a young mum.
Unconditional love, was my reward to come.
It was years later, when my thoughts returned to you.
My children pushing the boundaries and me not knowing what to do.
We struggled and we argued and oh boy.. were they wild
But my love, unconditional, my love for my child.
I asked the questions... I tried to understand,
I held them in arms and reached out with my hands.
So I ask you this question Mum, cos i dont understand.
How could you not love me, hold me or take my hand?

A remarkable thousand
One step forward to close on thousand
The reality looked so much sound
The happiness was never experienced or found
I think it is deep routed in the ground
I entered here as raw poet
Many advised me to keep quiet
It was not jumping ground yet
I had seen no one here or met
The poems always fascinated
The new ideas emerged and originated
There was need for it to be put forward
This was not for any gain or reward
Everybody appreciated the poems as put forward
There was no way for looking backward
It was going to pave the way for bright future
The place was going to be there for sure
It did rest all the speculations
All the fears were put out of questions
Though it had direct bearing and relation
There was no need for comparison or equation
I may not be questioned for the quality
To certain extent it may not prove the ability
Still it is worth to put across the views
The readers may judge it with their reviews
No path is that easy to sail smoothly
How best you come out of it truthfully?
There has to be an earnest try and attempt
Alignment with readers and maintain the good rapport
I find suitably amongst all
They do invite me and call
This increases the bond of friendship
How many friends do I find on the real ship?
It is salute to those who have supported
Understood me properly and not misquoted
It is their profound love and respect that matters
It strengthens the belief and doesn’t not shatter

Without One Contribution Made
There is some restrained inhibition,
When someone gets recognition.
And words are heard some say are dropped,
Come from both sides of somebody's mouth.
And many know they are misquoted,
From the words they spoke or wrote.
But the lifted words are twisted,
And today that wont be stopped.
Some people like to make their cases,
On what other people say.
And hide themselves from consequences...
Or just run away.
Some people always want to point out,
Who is real and who is fake.
And be the first among the missing...
Without one contribution made.
Unless there are some criticisms,
Planted to be laid.
Some people like to make their cases,
On what other people say.
And hide themselves from consequences...
Or just run away.
There is some restrained inhibition,
When someone gets recognition.
And words are heard some say are dropped,
Come from both sides of somebody's mouth.
Some people always want to point out,
Who is real and who is fake.
And hide themselves from consequences...

The Knight-Errant
Keen in his blood ran the old mad desire
To right the world's wrongs and champion truth;
Deep in his eyes shone a heaven-lit fire,
And royal and radiant day-dreams of youth!
Gracious was he to both beggar and stranger,
And for a rose tossed from fair finger-tips
He would have ridden hard-pressed through all danger,
The rose on his heart and a song on his lips!
All the king's foes he counted his foemen;
His not to say that a cause could be lost;
Spirits like his faced the enemies' bowmen
On long vanished fields--nor counted the cost.
Wide was his out-look and far was his vision;
Soul-fretting trifles he sent down the wind;
Small griefs gained only his cheerful derision,--
God's weather always was fair to his mind.
But he would comfort a child who was crying,
Knightly his deed to all such in distress;
Never a beast by the road-side lay dying
He did not stoop to with gentle caress.
And by the old, and the sad, and the broken,
Often he lingered, a well-beloved guest;
Dear was his voice, whatever the word spoken,
Sweetening their day with a song or a jest.
In the far times of brave ballad and story,
Men of his make kept the gates of the sea,
Wrought mighty deeds of power and glory,
Scattered their tyrants, and set the land free!
* * * * *
In the far times when perchance hearts were stronger,
When for a faith men could face death alone,
And it would seem that love lasted longer,
Such a white soul would have come to its own.
Down in the city the people but noted
One who was silent when things went awry,
Toiled at dull tasks, and was strangely devoted
To small deeds of kindness that others passed by.
Down in the city the people but noted
One who thought little of wealth and its ways;
One whose true words were full often misquoted,
One who laughed lightly at blame or at praise.

Frozen relation
When real relation is frozen or turned frost?
You are not loved at all but continue to be hated most
Some irritation starts creeping in mind
You see nothing except being rude and unkind
It so happens that words are misunderstood
Some bad words are taken for granted as good
It goes on till some ice is broken sincerely
But such thing happen seldom or rarely
The hatred plant grows enormously without being fed
Nourishment and other things are fuelled by friends
No one takes to reason and tries to make some improvement
It is allowed to worsen to such an extent that no time is left to resent
We have been molded in such a way to be carried very easily
Some of the words are picked just for nothing unnecessarily
It is quoted and misquoted to deteriorate the relation further
It adds to your tension and forces you think and relentlessly bother
Our human mind is product of all ills minus few good things
It remains puzzled and occupied all the time for something
Some where legs will be pulled for no cause at all
This will invite all troubles leading to scuffles and easy fall
It is not easy to develop relation and maintain it till the end
It depends on how much you compromise and shift the trend
You must be like river flow to change the course at every curve
Then only the passage will be made smooth and easy to serve
So many individuals think over this delicate issue and do not come to easy conclusion
There has to be always some exclusions and much to discomfort some inclusions
It is always give and take system that strengthens the relation
There can not be at any time good situation or favorable equation
You try to let go some of the thorny aspects and avoid the scene
The sweet results may be on card and a result will be seen
It is not always that any body can be fooled all the time to come
Some of the compromising stand may make them to think and welcome
As nature has taught us to be adaptable to some of the changes
New words can be inserted at any time on the brand new page
It may speak of altogether new story to create ever lasting impression
You are succeeding at all your attempt in the opening of the session
