Ch 08 On Rules For Conduct In Life - Maxim 43

A scholar is not meekly to overlook the folly of a common person because thus both parties are injured; the dignity of the former being lessened, and the ignorance of the latter confirmed.

Speak gracefully and kindly to a low fellow,
His pride and obstinacy will augment.

Nothing is vice in love

Obstinacy and shamelessness,
Ruthlessness and pitilessness,
Violence and false promises
Aren’t held as vice in love games

Obstinacy and Malcontent

Livid and delusional,
Haplessly obdurate,
Like these smoke and mirrors
Distorting the visage of hope
And faith in prayers sent forth
Whilst the coruscations of the past
Inveigles the doom in these eyes
And I exhumed myself alone
In declining my liberation

This obstinacy and malcontent
Deluges with the brine of blood
From angry vessels rooted
And gnarled in the dark corners
Of the cobwebbed heart
Because in this pawned life
Where satisfaction is a drug
To forget the querulous vertex
(To be complete not only in the dark)
The coup-de-grace was a dejection
An unspoken unfaithfulness
That devoured the flame
And the verdigris of the soul
Disemboguing everything
Until the only resolve for pain
Is the sedation in a greater pain;
A wrath that defends
This obstinacy and malcontent
That was once acknowledged
And fortified with sympathy

The resentment of the light
Dislimned the mirror in these eyes
And exhausted the smoky screen
To unfurl that the dark
Had always been underneath
These placidly asleep canopies
Now how do I rectify my truth?

Like these smoke and mirrors
I hid inside myself, unscathed
Groveling for a final clout
So I can shatter into dusts
And finally disappear
In my absolution.

Life’s Burden

All my life I have carried people and enormous weights,
and my owner always gets annoyed
when I refuse another step to take.

He curses and shouts, tugs and pulls, and tries to pull me on,
but I wont move in any direction
until the load on my back has gone.

It’s not unknown for him to give me a hefty kick
and when I still refuse to budge,
he lays into me with a stick.

My ways have made me famous and it’s not for being a fool,
the people of the world know me for my obstinacy,
because I’m an ordinary stubborn mule.

Ch 08 On Rules For Conduct In Life - Admonition 11

It is incumbent upon a padshah to give way to anger towards his slaves only so far as to retain the confidence of his friends. The fire of anger first burns him who has given cause for it and afterwards the flame may or may not reach the foe.

It is not proper for sons of Adam born of earth
To inflate their heads with pride, violence and wind.
Thou who displayest so much heat and obstinacy
Must be, I think, not of earth but of fire.
I visited a hermit in the country of Bilqan
And requested him to purge me of ignorance by instruction.
He replied: ‘Be patient like earth, O lawyer,
Or else, bury under the earth all thy learning.’

Will you dance?

Will you dance when reasons for this chore,
become blunt? As another dimension lore,
bid for a subtle, abstract distinctive kind,
that inspired me, your undefined mind.

I did dance! When the invitation was lost,
in propagation of causes laced, innermost,
soldiers of oddities that string a whisper,
transmitting my seasons dancer's drifter.

Lister. A spear traveling above the clouds,
whistling, hissing his trajectory astound,
searching for piercing my kinder feelings,
penetrates through my upstairs ceilings.

Dancers of Oddities, embraced in mists,
folklore abolished of lost soldiers listed,
stragglers of obstinacy, barefoot misfits,
on briars, a dancer's call, in Hades existed.

Sifting Through A Series Of Change

Months spent asleep in silence
as I lost my leverage when
the delusion I discreetly believed
eroded from the page

I awoke to a strangled sun
to watch doors swing
and taillights wan away.
I've seen better days
with eyes shut tight
sutured with rueful lies

Everything is changing fast
but I still feel the same
Even the lampposts shift,
even the lonely sky drifts
Am I the only one left
musing stagnantly for the muses?

I looked back but my footsteps
are daubed by many a weather
and the pathway of corrections
is razed by a series of modification
faster than a hurricane
like a physiological defense

Lambently, I lifted the eyes
in hope for a new horizon
but dreams remained asleep
and reality grew fastidiously
while I was slumbering away
the obstinacy of change.

I Love....

i love...
that's the reason i walk,
the reason i breathe.
the reason i grieve.
the reason i dance.
the reason i smile.
the reason i listen.
the reason i offer a hand.
the reason i see beauty.
the reason i see both darkness,
and light....
the reason i take chances.
the reason i keep going.
the reason i get angry.
the reason i forgive.
the reason i touch.
the reason i question.
the reason i believe.
the reason i am tolerant.
the reason i understand.
the reason i fall.
the reason i fly.
the reason i write...
the reason i am what i am!
