Bertrand Russell

Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate.

Sacred And Eternal

I am fortunate to be a poet with words periodical
I am fortunate to write poems sacred and eternal.

I am fortunate to see the world in new look
I am fortunate to be in poetic imagination
With evergreen colors sacred and eternal.

I am fortunate to be a part and parcel of the world
That is yours and only yours
And you are for all sacred and eternal.

For reforms ameliorate the situation of the working class, they lighten the weight of the chains labour is burdened with by capitalism, but they are not sufficient to crush capitalism and to emancipate the workers from their tyranny.

The unfortunate

A polar bear does not suffer as much
As an African bear would imagine it to.
An Indian crow does not suffer as much
As a penguin would imagine it to.
The unfortunate are not as unfortunate
As the fortunate think them to be.

Tyranny

All they knew that came to them to love,
Entertained quickly to satisfy their senses.
An investment to protect them from truth,
Had been unwisely spent in decadence.
With a lack of discipline encouraged.
And an insecurity...
No one had witness since the journey to be free,
From a tyranny pioneers promise never to see...
Again.

And those freedoms were restricted,
To an exclusive selfishness.
And the best of ideals began to lose their appeal.
As those of zeal discovered an ease to feed greed...
That would leave concepts of inclusion behind.
What's mine is yours became...just 'mine'!
With laws to ensure...
'Nothing I have will ever be yours.'

And...
A mindset of division began to isolate them in fear.
And that fear has delivered to them,
A tyranny!
Once again to endear.
And a loss of a blueprint once considered great,
Forsaken for the creation of deceit,
Hatred and self destruction...
Had been replaced.
With the unfortunate unconsciousness unaccepting...
That all who walked upon this land loved,
Had participated in sustaining a fading greatness.

And so, today, if the state can no longer appeal to the old moral principles that belong to the Christian tradition, it will be forced to create a new official faith and new moral principles which will be binding on its citizens.

The Bondman

Feebly the bondman toiled,
Sadly he wept-
Then to his wretched cot
Mournfully crept;
How doth his free-born soul
Pine 'neath his chain!
Slavery! Slavery!
Dark is thy reign.

Long ere the break of day,
Roused from repose,
Wearily toiling
Till after its close-
Praying for freedom,
He spends his last breath:
Liberty! Liberty!
Give me or death.

When, when, O Lord! will right
Triumph o'er wrong?
Tyrants oppress the weak,
O Lord! how long?
Hark! hark! a peal resounds
From shore to shore-
Tyranny! Tyranny!
Thy reign is o'er.

E'en now the morning
Gleams from the East-
Despots are feeling
Their triumph is past-
Strong hearts are answering
To freedom's loud call-
Liberty! Liberty!
Full and for all.

Exercise It

Exercise the will to succeed
The will can successfully enjoy itself.

Exercise the mind to proceed
The brain has much in procedure.

Exercise the body and to bleed
Inside the layers of itself.

Exercise again and again, indeed
To enliven the soul for its task.

Sadness Traps The Unfortunate

Sadness traps the unfortunate.
Those who will never be honest with themselves.
And live for things to comfort them.
To fulfill empty lives committed to hiding.

These are the ones who compare themselves to others.
These are the ones who feel significant,
If they can impress.
If their conversations express,
An interest that is common with pretensions addressed.

Sadness traps the unfortunate.
Those who will never be honest with themselves.
And live for things to comfort them.
To fulfill empty lives committed to hiding.

And those glass ceilings crack.
Precious plastic cards lose appeal.
Credit ratings plummet.
And those living leased lives are revealed.

Sadness,
Traps...
The unfortunate.

And looking back floods the tears,
From those who could not show compassion.
Now it is something that seems to flow.
But not from those doors padlocked and foreclosed.

Sadness,
Traps...
The unfortunate,
In minds where fear is found.
With compassion for others.
But no one is around to notice or care.
Since a cold indifferentness had always been there.
From those who exposed,
Their wishes just to feed their greed.
And egos.

Sadness traps the unfortunate.
Those who will never be honest with themselves.
And live for things to comfort them.
To fulfill empty lives committed to hiding,
Lieing and deceit.
