I think anyone who has an opinion, and voices it, will offend someone.

The masses demand a fighting President, and that means you've got to offend somebody, because the way I see it, a strong offense is the best attack. So what can you offend? That's an easy one. Offend the other candidates, because they'll be too busy talking to hear you, and besides, they might not vote for you anyway.

If I Offend, So Be It
If I offend...
So be it!
I am not here,
To be the 'next' James Baldwin.
Or follow in the footsteps,
Of Langston Hughes.
The shoes I wear are quite comfortable.
And the path I walk upon,
Has not already been paved.
That is the task that has be laid before me.
To do that myself!
If I offend...
So be it!
I am not living my life intending to be anyone else,
Than who I am.
I am the first Lawrence S. Pertillar.
And make no mistake about it...
I will be acknowledged,
For the life I've lived.
If I offend...
So be it!
I just know who it is I am.
And I am not who I am because I seek to get paid for it!
Like most folks lost and deluded,
By the meaning of 'identity'.
I've been blessed and I am grateful...
To have a dignity as well.
And 'if' I offend...
So be it!
There's so many others,
Who have minds associated with making a quick buck.
And people like that...
Are indoctrinated with corrupted agendas!

Let Me Help You Mend
Come in...
To my world.
And end,
All defenses begun...
Within you that go on,
To offend.
Come in...
To my world.
And end,
All defenses begun...
Within you that go on,
To offend.
Unlock your hold on troubles,
You keep deep...
To repeat.
Release them from yourself,
And you'll be free...
To visit me.
Come in...
To my world.
And end,
All defenses begun...
Within you that go on,
To offend.
Come in...
To my world.
And end,
All defenses begun...
Within you that go on,
To offend.
Let me,
Help you mend...
And now!

Offend In Every Way
I'm patient of this plan,
As humble as I can.
I'll wait another day,
Before I turn away.
But know this much is true,
No matter what I do,
Offend in every way,
I don't know what to say.
I'm commin through the door,
But they're expecting more,
Of an interesting man.
Sometimes I think I can,
But how much can I fake?
I'll speak until I break,
With every word I say,
Offend in every way.
You tell me to relax,
and listen to these facts.
That everyone's my friend,
And will be till the end.
But know this much is true,
No matter what I do,
No matter what I say,
Offend in every way.

Mr. Grieves
Hope everything is alright hope everything is alright
What's that floating in the water
Oh neptune's only daughter
I believe
In mr. grieves
Pray for a man in the middle
One that talks like doolittle
I believe
In mr. grieves
Do you have another opinion
Do you have another opinion
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
Got bombed got frozen
Got finally off to a finally dozing
I believe
In mr. grieves
Do you have another opinion
Opinion
Do you have another opinion
Do you have another opinion
You can cry you can mope
But can you swing from a good rope
Oh i believe
In mr. grieves
Hope everything is alright
Hope everything is alright

Never offend people with style when you can offend them with substance.
Everyone should have their own opinion and be able to voice it. No matter what it is. Of course, that does not mean your opinion is always right. But, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

Nine Voices
Anderson/squire/howe/white/sherwood/khoroshev
On a beach
North africa
Nine tribesmen stand alone
Waiting for a distant call
Waiting for the world to answer
Thru' the night of a thousand stars
Encircled by the light
They began to sing a new song
Of forces that surround us
Nine voices
This dialogue
Nine voices
Singing as one
Nine voices

Nine voices
When the sun came up they sang
As the perfect calendar says
Each had the power of people
Speaking new languages
They gave forgiveness meaning
New ways of letting go
Each child is born for greatness
With forces that surround them

Clean
Today, everything was fine fine fine
Until roundabout quarter to 9, suddenly I found myself in a bind, a bind
Was it something I said
Something I read
And manifest thats getting you down
Dont you dare come to bed with that ambiguous look in your eye
Id sooner sleep by an open fire and wake up fried
Say what u will
Say what u mean
No, you could never offend
Your dirty words come out clean, clean
Tomorrow, what price will I pay
Could I make it all up to you by serving coffee for two in bed, would you then give me
The time of day
I need a map of your head, translated into english so I can learn to not make you frown
Feel better if you vent, put your frustrations into four letter words and let them out on
Mine
The most weathered ears in town!
Say what u will
Say what u mean
No, you could never offend
Your dirty words come out clean
Clean (x6)
Say what u will
Say what u mean
No, you could never offend
Your dirt words come out clean
Say what u will
Say what u mean
No, you could never offend
Your dirty words come out clean, clean

If By Chance Your Eye Offend You
If by chance your eye offend you,
Pluck it out, lad, and be sound:
'Twill hurt, but here are salves to friend you,
And many a balsam grows on ground.
And if your hand or foot offend you,
Cut it off, lad, and be whole;
But play the man, stand up and end you,
When your sickness is your soul.

A Tale Died
A tale was found and quartered for the dust
Died afterwards like the fountains receding;
It was a history of sorrow, time might complete
And times may change according to desire.
The tales talked of their dead and gone,
Of good opinion and affection that lasted.
To offend the caves was to offend the angry men
In them, without frustrating their souls
Of eyes that battered and battled for more memory
In the name of mankind,
In the hobbies of the world that chanced difficulties.
More in angers was nagging, they grew worse in years
As those felons attracted a huge fitness,
These men of kings decided to sneak about
With a gallows air, perpetually in sin
And nagging with the bending of bars.
The stories one sees of idle personages
Puts people into bad tempers,
The moment the air of health enters,
The moment one betrays the trust
Of a man who is infuriated.
This tale flies to the door of a chap
That flew with fluency,
Sitting in the portrait of a spring's
Day.

Chant To The Sun
voices of men
like wailing of the rivers
like riding wild horses
and catching wolves
voices of men
strong and determined
for freedom
under the ruling sun
voices of men
cascading like the Niagara
falls
voices of men so alive
muscles of their arms
shining like metals
to the moon
voices of men
friends of nature
chanting
for more love
life
peace and
harmony

Ch 01 Manner of Kings Story 31
The veziers of Nushirvan happened to discuss an important affair of state, each giving his opinion according to his knowledge. The king likewise gave his opinion and Barzachumihr concurred with it. Afterwards the veziers secretly asked him: "What superiority hast thou discovered in the opinion of the king above so many other reflections of wise men?" The philosopher replied: "Since the termination of the affair is unknown and it depends upon the will of God whether the opinion of the others will turn out right or wrong, it was better to agree with the opinion of the king so that, if it should turn out to have been wrong, we may, on account of having followed it, remain free from blame."
To proffer an opinion contrary to the king’s
Means to wash the hands in one’s own blood.
Should he in plain day say it is night,
It is meet to shout: "Lo, the moon and the pleiads!"

A fashionable milieu is one in which everybody's opinion is made up of the opinion of all the others. Has everybody a different opinion? Then it is a literary milieu.

A Happiness By Any Other Name
Nothing appearing on my top ten list,
Prioritizes you...
As a focus to entertain.
I know what your expectations are.
And from where those habits you have,
Nutured to flourish those thoughts....
Generating with perceptions you should rid.
But trust me...
There is not a movement made I do,
That awaits any opinion of yours.
It's just the way it is.
I hope that doesn't offend you.
I was not raised to wish for another existence.
It is just my nature to take footsteps,
Without seeking to impress.
Or look for anyone's approval.
It is just my nature,
To identify first...
With that which pleases me.
A happiness by any other name...
Just is not mine to call and claim.

To Get Done And With Competence
I don't intend to offend when I begin,
To write...
It just happens,
Within my scope of a life I define...
From my point of view.
And,
Hey...
This point of view is mine!
Today...
I am not selling congeniality.
Nor am I embittered with that kind of...
Mood swinging attitude,
Like some say I am since I do walk,
As if I've got swagger.
And not pulling myself,
Through a field of molasses.
You know...
Like the ones who humble themselves,
To be accepted while filling out a job application.
With their bowed heads and upturned eyes?
And their smile-on-cue demeanors.
I am respectful not a clown!
And I do not 'yes' my way through conversations.
If I have an opinion...
I might express it 'If' I am challenged,
To apply my experience and intelligence...
When communicating a seriousness left,
I wish to leave.
Although I have had my share of injustices.
Some blatant and some masked as if...
I am to understand my minority status,
As a declared human being.
And people who approach me that way,
Are left learning a few lessons.
'The world is a classroom.'
Whenever there is a need to be taught,
A few things about life.
Since I do enjoy delivering...
Some concepts of my own.
I don't often 'trip' like that!
And it does offend those who believe,
I should know my place!
And their place?
Not to get in my way...
If I am expected to perform a task,
To get done and with competence.
Which to 'them' and those like them...
Is another thing that offends.

The Voices Are Back
He saw flames in the department store
He tried to get the people to the safety of the door
There was no fire the voices were telling him what to do
You could see from his face he needs someone
To help pull him through
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
Ripping through the fabric between his world and the real
Hes trying to protect you but
The knife will know that your flesh meets steel
Took him to an institution
And they helped the voices go away
But he didnt have the right set of papers
So they put this boy in jail
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
Six weeks turned to twelve
He was locked up for twenty-three hours a day
The warden found him in his cell
His only crime was that he was ill
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
The voices are back theyre telling him what to do
