There are two ways of being happy: We must either diminish our wants or augment our means - either may do - the result is the same and it is for each man to decide for himself and to do that which happens to be easier.

It's easier in some ways being on the life raft and the other guy's in the boat and you can row alongside and be supportive. In some ways, that's an easier role.

See Yourself
Its easier to tell a lie than it is to tell the truth
Its easier to kill a fly than it is to turn it loose
Its easier to criticize somebody else
Than to see yourself
Its easier to give a sigh and be like all the rest
Who stand around and crucify you while you do your best
Its easier to see the books upon the shelf
Than to see yourself
Its easier to hurt someone and make them cry
Than it is to dry their eyes
I got tired of fooling around with other peoples lies
Rather Id find someone thats true
Its easier to say you wont than it is to feel you can
Its easier to drag your feet than it is to be a man
Its easier to look at someone eless wealth
Than to see yourself

Inconclusive
I worry, you tell me not to worry, be happy
there is nothing to worry about
but still I keep on worrying
it's easier to worry than be happy
i'm not really sure
I know what it means to be happy
is it a red sunset on the blue horizon
a child smiles and lauhgs
the fresh smell after spring showers
or wathcng her walk
a litter of squirming puppies
a babe at the breast
a flower in bloom
a flock of birds overhead
happenings and sweet cliches
I don't think I can know when I am happy
without telling a story
but I know when I'm not

ACT: Goodbye
Girl: Goodbye
I always want to say it in front of you
Goodbye
And there would be no more “I love you”
Goodbye
But why though I really meant to
The pain is still haunting my soul
Guy: Goodbye
You don’t know there’s a mystery inside
Goodbye
You are a fool to quickly decide
Goodbye
When you say something you don’t want to
It will affect you most with regret
Girl: Goodbye means leaving
Guy: Goodbye means nothing
Girl: Goodbye means releasing
Guy: Goodbye means waiting
Girl: And will you forget me after
Guy: Or will I love you forever
Girl: And how if I miss you in the lonely night
Guy: I will torture you to see my face
Girl: It’s over!
Guy: Not yet
Girl: Why are you so stubborn?
Guy: Because you make it complicated
Girl: But there’s no future for us
Guy: There’s always a hope
Girl: Goodbye
I will definitely cry
Goodbye
But the tears are not going to show
Goodbye
I don’t ask to be forgiven
Because I’m the one who put this misery
Guy: Goodbye
You can’t beat me with just that
Goodbye
Don’t judge me because I have the power of
Goodbye
Though I let my beloved go
Someday I’ll bring you to my arm again
Girl: Goodbye means separate
Guy: Goodbye means “I’ll be back”
Girl: Goodbye means finishing
Guy: Goodbye means praying
Girl: And will it make you think
Guy: That you are my precious one
Girl: And when I finally disappear
Guy: That’s the time I realize I’m lost
Girl: Just be a good boy!
Guy: Why should I?
Girl: So I can say farewell
Guy: I won’t let it
Girl: You will be hurt by me
Guy: I’ll hurt more if you leave me
Girl: Goodbye
I will act so rude and cold
Goodbye
You deserved so much better
Goodbye
It’s the easier way to be apart from you
Even it’s full of lie, of lie
Guy: Goodbye
How can I live without you?
Goodbye
I don’t care what other’s said
Goodbye
But you are running away from me
Denying your true feeling
Girl: Goodbye means not anymore
Guy: Goodbye means see you later
Girl: Goodbye means sad ending
Guy: Goodbye means new beginning
Girl: And did I say to you to move on?
Guy: Only you I couldn’t go on
Girl: And someway we have another chance
Guy: I promise that you won’t slip from my fingers

Thunderbolt
I am the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt staying bold.
I'm the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
You may decide to run and hide.
But I've learned throughout my life...
Those who run let life slip by,
And cry in denial.
Setting themselves up...
For struggles and trials.
When I was young I was often hushed,
I would question too much.
With unedited questions asked.
To connect in my mind to grasp.
I am the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
And with a boldness I still hold.
When I was young I was often hushed,
I would question too much.
With unedited questions asked.
To connect in my mind to grasp.
Zip zap crack with answers due.
Answer my questions asked of you!
I'm the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
Zip zap crack with answers due.
Answer my questions asked of you!
I am the result of a thunderbolt,
That struck and stayed bold.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that thunderbolt that remained bold.
There were no shoulders for me to hold.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
There were no shoulders for me to hold.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I'm that result of a thunderbolt.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
There were no shoulders with warm holds.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I am the result of a thunderbolt.
I might have been precocious!
But not braggadocious.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.
I am that result of a thunderbolt.

I don't value authority. I don't value the systems. I don't value patriarchal religion. I don't value the things that diminish you when you do tell the truth. So I'm not scared of the end result, and that is the biggest asset I have.

The Somme-France 1916, From A 15 Year Olds Perspective
They said welcome to the warzone kid,
Now run along and don't get killed,
War was easier said then done,
With shrapnel flying,
And your best mates dying
War was easier said then done,
We're disadvantaged, The Boche have Hill 60, that very important mound,
I wish i was at home, safe and sound,
War was easier said then done,
The trenches are dirty, cold and wet,
I can't take off my boots, in mud they're set,
War was easier said then done,
You never know if your next breath will be your last,
Use your legs, run and run fast,
War was easier said then done,
I've only been here for about one week,
I'm still alive, so i guess this is a winning streak?
War was easier said then done,
My bayonet is bloody and red,
I'm glad it's him and not me that is dead
War was easier said then done...

Doing the right thing.....
Sometimes it means giving in
When you know that nothing else matter
Sometimes it means needing to be quiet
When words can no longer deliver the message
Sometimes it means going separate ways
When things have gotten unbearable and hopeless
Sometimes it means turning away
When your presence will do more harm than good
Sometimes it means giving up your dreams
When you no longer have time to dream
Sometimes it means stop hoping
When there's nothing else to hope for
Sometimes it means giving up your reasons
When you know that they just don't fit
Sometimes it means masking your true feelings
When you know that you have to put up a face
Sometimes it means keeping the love within your heart
When you know that it can only bring pain.

Very Difficult to Achieve
Some folks achieve notoriety,
Based upon the quantity of their work.
Not as a result of the quality...
That can be observed.
However,
With a touch of therefore.
It is very difficult to achieve,
A sustained quality!
Well...
For some!
But after a while it really doesn't matter.
Folks will diminish one's ability,
To sustain a quality with quanity.
It happens.
Since the familiarity of it being delivered,
Becomes taken for granted.
Try maintaining substance over time.
It can be done.
But not recommended.
Folks don't associate work with it!
And sooner or later...
Whatever it is becomes disrespected.
For the uniqueness of its delivery.
And deduced as something that was done too easy.
And sleazing it becomes even easier.
Especially by those who rise in the morning...
Prepared to critique,
As part of what it is done they do...
To participate in this experience called life.
We all have a need to fulfill something we regard,
As valued by somebody, somewhere.
And so we do it.
Most times without thought at all.

Eternal Winter
days find you
slippingaway
into your old ways
as if
time means nothing
it's almost winter
remember spring?
the changing season
brought change
in you, in me
i was happy then
everything unknown
mysterious, yet
with promise
but
days find you
slipping away
into your old ways
as if time means naught
have you forgotten last autumn
when we tried to leave?
but stayed through the
cold and dark of winter
it's here again and
you are leaving me
to face this winter
it's come too early
and feels like
eternity

Too Suggestible (Revised)
Time to escape ‘A Thousand Ways to Die’
fast becoming one of those nasty to all
and sundry jerks who died as a result
of their own malicious vindictiveness
Thinking ‘there she goes, law-breaker
posing normality, fraudster underneath,
happy with unethical tricks until she fell,
fracturing her skull into a million pieces’
– and –
‘Here she comes, woman who thought
living in her mind was good enough, just
fooling herself, no life in reality at all’ –
I shudder because of these thoughts
Cannot retrieve my happy inner world;
time to stop watching unloving people
hurting one-another and thus meeting
their doom in such shocking ways
Becoming a character in the show –
so gullible to be sucked in, hating
who I am!

It Was Easier To Hurt Him
(jerry ragavoy / bert russell)
I should have told him
That I needed him
When I had the chance
And now hes left me
And its all over
Goodbye romance
I should have told him then
Over and over again
That I love him
But, it was easier to hurt him, ooh
It was easier to hurt him, ooh
It was easier to hurt him
Thats what I thought
Was being so smart
The way I cheated him
And mistreated him
How could I forget?
I was so sure that he
Would always trust in me
Oh, that Id take a bet, no, no, no
Hed never say goodbye
But here all alone am i
He is gone now, ahh, cause
It was easier to hurt him
What could I do?
(it was) easier to hurt him
I should have known better
Thats what I thought
Was being so smart, oh, oh
It was easier to hurt him
I need him so bad
(it was) easier to hurt him
What did I do?
(it was) easier to hurt him
I should have known better
(it was) easier to hurt him
I need him so bad

A Happy World
the little boy inside the box
is about to get mad, and prelude to this madness,
he fabricated a nail
and a hammer, and then
he made a hole in one corner
to first see light,
the little girl outside hears the noise
opens the box and sees the little boy who is pale and still blinded
with so much light
the little girl laughs at the pale and fragile creature
you expected that they will soon like each other and play in the garden
the reverse happens, the girl hates the boy for he was never like her
by all means
she closes the box, the boy has no means of breathing
and eventually dies of asphyxiation
it is a sad ending of course,
but both of them are happy in their own ways,
the state with which the boy is in, he has only one wish, and that is
to die, and the girl who does not need any company, has given it to him.
that is tragic, and that is what you really wanted.
now you are happy too.
you get what you wish.

Peace can be found
‘Peace is when time does not matter
as it passes by’.
[with nothing to do, I pass my Sundays]
Peace is when means does not matter
as it passes out.
[I spend for my girl friend in outings]
Peace is when the result does not bother
as it comes out.
[I spend time playing chess with my son.]
Peace is when time, means and the result
do not bind one.
