In the sense that people who produce things and work get rewarded, statistically. You don't get rewarded precisely for your effort, but in Russia you got rewarded for being alive, but not very well rewarded.

Be not mad of targets.
A target is given; you are in tension.
It seems a hard one; anxiety sets in.
You put extra efforts; you’re in stress.
Hurdles crop; you are in strain.
Hope fades; you are in pain.
Hope revives; you recover.
The target achieved; full of joy.
The target aborted; full of sorrow.
Take light the target and enjoy.

All Fired Up
A burst of speed is all I need
To set me free
A flagging start that stirs the heart
To ecstasy
Raging away I'll go far
Time waits for no man
So reach for the stars
I'm all fired up
A bolt of light that sears the night
Of things supreme
To chase the sun, forever on
And live the dream
Forcing a system aside
Too fast for this life
My mind's open wide
I'm fired up
All fired up
Fired Up
All fired up
I'm soaring, freefalling
With all emotions roaring
Like lighting, like thunder
I'll rip the world asunder
Let's go
Hold on
[Lead Break]
I'm soaring, freefalling
With all emotions roaring
Like lighting, like thunder
I'll rip the world asunder
Raging away I'll go far
Time waits for no man
So reach for the stars
I'm fired up
All fired up
Fired up
All fired up
Fired up

Imitation is being rewarded. They're learning that if you fit right in the mold, you get rewarded. Music is no longer a form of expression - it's a means to a lifestyle.

It is more honorable to be raised to a throne than to be born to one. Fortune bestows the one, merit obtains the other.
Target
Uptown - downtown
No ones fussy Im a target
Black, white - day, night
No ones fussy Im a target
Somebody say Im crazy
Walking in this neighborhood
Say you cant be too careful
But that wont do no good
Im no one special
But any part of town
Someone could smile at me then
Shake my hand then gun me down
Uptown - downtown
No ones fussy Im a target
Black, white - day, night
No ones fussy Im a target
Somebody say Im crazy
Living in this crazy town
I say maybe youre just lazy
Got to either swim or drown
I know what Im doing
Im happy day to day
But then something happens
Takes my nerve away
Uptown - downtown
No ones fussy Im a target
Black, white - day, night
No ones fussy Im a target
