Be of service. Whether you make yourself available to a friend or co-worker, or you make time every month to do volunteer work, there is nothing that harvests more of a feeling of empowerment than being of service to someone in need.

Service
Service is rendering assistance,
To persons nigh and in a distance.
Service should be in consistence,
And ever in abiding persistence
For peoples vital subsistence,
And for our peaceful co-existence.
Service constitutes us to be dynamic,
It cleanses the mind, and we are not sick.
Service entails ego annihilation,
And our materialism is in destruction.
Service makes us to give others a benefit,
It brings society to a frame-work knit.
Service allows us to do to others a favour,
Which adds to our life full of flavour.
.
Service endows us with a virtuous life,
And it empowers us to live a larger life.
Service chisels us to beautifully refine,
And it tunes us to be in a haven divine.

Room Service
Im feelin low, no place to go
And Im a-thinking that Im gonna scream
Because a hotel all alone is not a
Rock and roll stars dream
But just when Im about to shut the light and go to bed
A lady calls and asks if Im too tired or if Im just to dead for
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no
My planes delayed and Im afraid
Theyre gonna keep me waiting here till nine
Then a stewardess in a tight blue dress says
I got the time
But just as Im about to take my coat and get my fly
She says oh please, shes on her knees
And one more time before I leave I get some
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no, no
In my home town, Im hangin round
With all the ladies treatin me real good
A sweet sixteen lookin hot and mean says
I wish you would
But just as Im about to tell her yes, I think I can
I see her dad, hes getting mad
All the time he knows that Im in need of
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no, I cant say no
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, you take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no
Room service, well maybe baby, room service

Secret Service
You don't mind giving in to temptation as long as no one knows
Your midnight invitation where your madness flows
Fires of passion rage all night angels falling out of the light
Control undercover you can paralyze
Every love is one more victim they never realize
All their desires burn like a fever
They want to run but they just can't leave her
Secret Service Secret Service
Do they know how you scream
Secret Service passion - hunger
Do they know how you scream
I should have seen through her disguise she was a masquerade
Cold kiss hungry eyes then she began to fade
Feeling lost I want to be found
Heaven's in hell DON'T LOOK DOWN
Secret Service Secret Service
Do they know how you scream
Secret Service Secret Service
Do they know how you cry, can they see your dreams
Have they heard you sigh
Or do you save it all for me in your SECRET SERVICE

As far as service goes, it can take the form of a million things. To do service, you don't have to be a doctor working in the slums for free, or become a social worker. Your position in life and what you do doesn't matter as much as how you do what you do.

Lip service
By: jimmy buffett, michael utley

For anyone who loves creole cookin and new orleans music
Talk-a, talk-a, talk until your jaws turn blue
But you never really tell me what youre gonna do
Seem to keep it all locked up inside
I cant help but start to thinkin
Youve got somethin to hide
Why the pain
Whats your game
Youre drivin this boy insane
Oooh what a voodoo, nobody can do like you do
Your bitchin and your cryin finally got to me
So I thought Id take you baby on a shoppin spree
You bought a space age watch and an antique hat
Hell now its digital this and digital that
What a pain
Silly games
Still drivin your man insane
Oooh what a voodoo, nobody can do like you do
Chorus:
Oh darlin oh darlin
All I ever get is lip service from you
Oh darlin oh darlin, Im through
cause all I ever get is lip service from you
(instrumental)
So listen to me baby
You got to change your ways
Or Im off to pascagoula in a few more days
Ill leave you and your poodle and all the mess he makes
Find some other fool to man your shovel and your rake
No more pain
End of game
Youre drivin yourself insane
Ooh what a voodoo, nobody can do like you do
Chorus:
Oh darlin oh darlin
All I ever get is lip service from you
Oh darlin oh darlin, Im through
cause all I ever get is lip service from you
Lip service from you (lip service)
Lip service from you-hoo
Lip service from you (lip service)
Lip service from you-hoo
Lip service from you (lip service)
Lip service from you-hoo

Purity of heart will not make us poor. The exaltation of poverty as a spiritual virtue is of the ego, not the spirit. A person acting from a motivation of contribution and service rises to such a level of moral authority, that worldly success is a natural result. Give all your gifts away in service to the world. If you want to paint, don’t wait for a grant. Paint a wall in your town that looks drab and uninviting. You never know who’s going to see that wall. Whatever it is you want to do, give it away in service to your community.

Who Is Going To Get The Credit For It
Volunteering one's time in some communities,
Has led to the experience or receiving indignities...
By some.
In areas where egos are high in number.
And years are clocked for doing the slightest thing.
Volunteering one's time in some communities,
Where neglect has been obviously done...
By those peacocking nonstop providing lip service.
Can be detrimental to one's generosity of spirit.
Volunteering one's time in these atmospheres,
Can pose a threat,
To those who are accustomed to complaining.
They will state their issues have been overlooked.
And what is it really wished personally by someone donating time.
Since they have had the time themselves
And nothing seems to have gotten done.
These comments are unbelievably 'consciously' stated.
'Perhaps those who volunteer can assist in correcting this? '
~And who is going to get the credit for it?
We want to know this! That's our main priority.
Why should they get the credit for something we can do? ~
'Uh...yeah. There is a problem.
Solving it may take more than what a volunteer can offer.'

Marketing
Fruitful marketing strategy
Is crucial for any industry
And service-provider
Everyone loves beautiful thing
So the packaging of products
Must be eye-catching
Advertisement
Should be in such an way
So that the potential consumers
Are attracted
To the product or service
Quality of the product or service
Should be of international standard
So that it can survive
In the competition
Of open market economy
In this way
An industry or service-provider
Can become successful

The perfect church service would be the one we were almost unaware of our attention would have been on God. But every novelty prevents this. It fixes our attention on the service itself and thinking about worship is a different thing than worshipping... 'Tis mad idolatry that makes the service greater than the god.

Buses (Fun Poem 42)
When they told me
not to use my car for a month.
I smiled and thought,
a blessing in disguise,
but now I’m not so sure.
Walking a couple of miles each day
to get from point A to B,
that is not all that bad.
For longer journeys
I had to use Public Transport.
This is where that blessing
turned into a nightmare in disguise.
You can wait at a bus stop
for an hour or more,
then some bright spark will tell you,
the buses don’t run this way anymore.
Finally you find a bus stop
that the buses do use.
There you wait and wait.
Then you see your bus coming along,
your smile quickly turns to a frown,
for there in the destination window
at the front of the bus,
a little sign that reads.
BUS NOT IN SERVICE.
Bus not in service?
When are they ever in service?
They are always running late,
sometimes never at all.
Then one will come along,
that is over crowed,
and still you can’t get on.
All the time the Government
keep plugging away,
use Public Transport,
for it is greener.
They got that right for a change.
They put the buses out to pasture,
leave them for a while,
so they can chew on the cud.
Only to let them out
to milk the customers dry.

Mother, O Mother
Mother O Mother, You Are Great
Mother O Mother you are great,
All the problems solve in any state,
Still we find there is no hate,
Each and everyone you make your mate,
Love is in your heart, your work is very smart,
All your whole life you carry the home-cart,
In your job there is no wait,
Mother, O Mother you are great.
Working all the time,
To make our things fine,
Guiding always to be far from crime,
In your work there is no late,
Mother O Mother you are great,
Caring for us, praying for us,
Struggling for us, standing for us,
With your efforts, make our bright fate,
Mother O Mother you are great,
You are my lord, you are my God,
In your service there is no fraud,
With your blessings, life is always set,
Mother O Mother you are great.

The Brave Volunteer
At the time of the rebellion
Between the north and south,
Many a noble volunteer
Kent county did send out.
Among them was Chyler Davis,
He hailed from Oakfield town,
He enlisted in the service,
His native land to shield.
This brave and noble volunteer,
He left his home and friends,
For he dearly loved his country,
He went from Michigan.
Not thinking when he went down south,
The Federal ranks to fill,
That he would lay in prisons,
Belle Isle to Andersonville.
In prison cells lamenting,
For seventeen months he lay,
Thinking of the dear ones
At home so far away.
He lay in prison suffering,
No friend to hear him moan,
A living, walking skeleton,
He was when he came home.
He was discharged in Kansas,
The place called Fort Leavenworth,
And he did return to Oakfield,
The place he first went forth.
How joyful were his parents
When they saw their then lost one;
The God of heaven was merciful
To let return their son.

A Deed Of A Friend....
A friend in need is a friend in deed, it is said;
A friend capable of helping by deed is needed.
There are many lip service friends everywhere;
Sans requesting and talk a friend should know
What another friend needs to be done in work!
“If you do this I will do that” is not nice of a friend;
This is done in business friendship but not in life.
This kind of business attitude is not long to follow;
That kind of friendship is not for long to continue.
Friend means one should be ready for anything!
A real friend does everything out of love for another;
That kind of friend is the need of a good friend here.
That friend does all for his friend to come up soon
And there lies real friendship lasting forever anywhere!
