The foundation for future prosperity is built on the bedrock of good jobs and great schools. We are building a strong foundation one job at a time and one educated Texan at a time.

It's better when people wonder why you didn't say something than why you did.

Always ride your horse in the direction it's going.
There's two theories to arguing with a man/woman. Neither one works.
If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.
Don't worry about biting off more than you can chew. Your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger'n you think.

I'm not anti-American. I've lived with Kenny, a Texan, for six years.

Rural Diversity
Migrant workers..
From Texas to Wisconsin
Fifty years ago..
Coming to where the work
and dreams were plentiful.
A little ale and little sleep
This cultural diversity is a part of
our rural farming history
Past and Present
A young Texan hombre
Finding work and a little pay
Courting a senorita
both from the same tiny Texan town, Cotulla
They marry here in Wisconsin
Their offspring playing
in the fields of their toil.
Most went on to find jobs
in industry; living the blue collar life
making the steel harvesters
that promised to replace the manual labor.
Look in the fields today
Still they come,
but from farther borders
Fifty years later...
coming to where the work
and dreams still smell of promise.

Thank You My Love
My life has been filed with monsters.
Monsters that smack me when no one is looking,
Monsters that come in the form of words,
Even ones that push me onto their bed.
I run and hide inside of my computer,
Drowning in my tears,
Because it burns when I cry.
Looking for comfort and someone,
To just tell me,
I don’t hate you Becca Purkey.
This is just what he simply,
whispers into my ear when the moon is now bright.
He wrote his way, his way into my heart.
Within his sexy letters.
Now, within the whispers he shares only with me.
This he requires more and more of it with each sun rise.
In today’s light I can sit up,
With a smile on my face,
In the blood drenched casket,
That once laid this weeping poet.
Seeing only the devils end,
Thinking maybe I will try again,
This time not cutting to shallow.
His Texan accent placing the blade out reach,
There is not enough letters in the words THANK YOU,
To express my gratitude for him each and every day.
Thank You, Thank You My Love, I will one day repay you.
With saying I Do.

Love Is A Night
Hangin out in new orleans
Diggin on the bourbon scenes
Just feelin the vibes of the oncoming days
There aint no texan chaparral
To hide away all those southern belles
Just thinking about that georgian gal conjures a crazw
Love is a night
Who really cares if its wrong or its right
And all that I care
Youve been some life and love I could share
Got a thing in tennessee
She aint about to marry me
Theres never been a time she says yes and means no
I had a case in carolin
From makin love on rose wine
Its strange how they come and they go
Love is a night
Who really cares if its wrong or its right
And all that I know
Youve been some life and love on the road
Love is a night
I only know the moment is right
As for the ladies Ive known
They mean so much when youre all alone

Greetings
Greetings
The lone star beer was ice cold, turned my teeth into
glaziers. My mind froze as polar bears hunted seals
on ice floes. I shuddered and thought of home.
“Don’t you like the American way? ” A tall Texan said.
He looked like a US Marshal, grey suit and a Stetson
hat, also grey.” I love America, especially Texas”, I said.
With frostbitten lips I told him I had been to New York
too, but preferred Houston. To this everyone smiled
and the big man said: ” welcome to Texas.”
