I don't think anybody ever really just retires where they don't do anything.

China Love

The energy I see
The silence that you speak
The lust within my dreams
And what I t says to me
This full heart of mine
You just can't empty

So come lay with me
China love
How pleasant life will be
China love
As the sun retires
Our love will transpire
Make love to me
China love

I see the sunshine
When I look into your eyes
They speak of worlds gone by
We loved another time
My heart was empty
Till you came to be

So come lay with me
China love
How pleasant life will be
China love
As the sun retires
Our love will transpire
Make love to me
China love

You retire when you are sick and when you can't do it any more or when the public retires you. That's the most painful, because that's the one that leaves you wanting to accomplish more.

The Ripe Sound Of The Gecko....

sorrow is not fond
with words,
it sticks like a gecko
on the
old wall of the house
and when everyone
retires for
sleep
it starts to create
that sound
where you soon shall
start
counting

From The Biography Of An Unknown Woman: Xxxiv

my skin dances
as if to a tune
if only you press
your lips against...

my breath ceases
as if it was the last
if only your hands
tighten around my self...

my invisible wings spread
as if set on a flight
if only your fingers fly
in their inimitable course...

so dreaming
she retires for the day...

Pitchfork

From here I could see the country lassie's tossing hay faintly
And I tried to send her a message through the wind;
'It's too heavy the long handle and you may get back pain,
Certainly I can look after the Farmstead
When your father retires.
If it's feasible before the feast,
Then this featherweight soul could dance on your fertile soil.

Haggard Zen of Eden 1833

Before the burning Bush retires
Using excuse of rocket fires
Strategic realpolitic
Has acted with the wish to pick
First strike, stakes hiking. One admires
Ideal excuses which find buyers
Reminding that through thin and thick
External trappings weave war's wires
So skillfully to suit desires.

She. By Sonam Bhutia

When the night
creeps and intrudes.
When the day
retires to his cosy nest.
When the sun
recedes on the wall of
distant horizon.
When the alley
of concrete forest,
reverberates with echo of
calm and deadlock.
When the stars bloom,
up above the firmament.
When the entire world
is in a heavy slumber.
Then, she walks
into my dream,
with soundless steps,
and adorns my heart,
with flowery touch.

Secret Treasure

a father's love......
protects and enfolds
teaches and molds
never grows old

a father's love.....
provides and inspires
burns brighter than fire
neither shrinks nor retires

a father's love.....
disciplines and hears
dispels darkest fears
always feels near

a father's love....
now and forever
without finite measure
a child's secret treasure!

Quietude for M lady Lucianne

Across the meadows bells are ringing.
Overhead the birds are winging
homewards to their roosting place
As twilight falls, the hour of grace
which separates the day from night.
When darkness overcomes the light,
the western sky is tinged with red
The weary sun retires to bed
the sky takes on a darker hue
changing from ice to midnight blue.
Then one by one the stars appear
against the blue as beacons clear.
I sit and watch contentedly
as quietude envelopes me.

Past and Future

The new hath come and now the old retires:
And so the past becomes a mountain-cell,
Where lone, apart, old hermit-memories dwell
In consecrated calm, forgotten yet
Of the keen heart that hastens to forget
Old longings in fulfilling new desires.

And now the Soul stands in a vague, intense
Expectancy and anguish of suspense,
On the dim chamber-threshold . . . lo! he sees
Like a strange, fated bride as yet unknown,
His timid future shrinking there alone,
Beneath her marriage-veil of mysteries.

Two Men On Fire

The air of two men is alight,
The fire surrounds them and fights,
What do we gain from this?
It stings and shudders our blood,
The fire retires and is stolen,
Fierce winds dissolve its anger,
Minds attached always collect information.
The air of two men is afire,
The clothes possessed are an attack.
Two men are on fire, two men will bear
The time so rare, and the fierce winds collect
And more collect, to dissolve the hurt.

A Farmer's Song

One, two and three
Its dawn, and cows are mooing,
cocks are crowing,
a dog is barking,
a new day, welcoming.

Four, five and six
The sun is up, plants are healthy
On goes the counting, hens eggs they lay
Manure is turned for decay,
Cows fed with hay.

Six, seven and eight
Milkman returns pails for day
Cake done, ghee and butter,
Egg trays for this, has made a day
Fruits flourish for better

Nine ends with ten
To, West the Sun retires
Clutter clang, tools return to stores
Dogs released from kennels
Radio some news it blares,
A way the cold is driven with fires.

The Police Officer's Wife

He goes to work early everyday
For him to be safe is what I pray
He often works late, not a set time
He stays busy on the streets, fighting crime
He has a whole family that loves him too
The most honorable man that I ever knew
Lots of people are bad, must protect the city
Catching crooks isn't fun or very pretty
His job makes us feel safe in our home
He makes a point to find them, where ever they roam
So please dear god, keep him safe tonight
And let him not have to get into a fight
A policemans wife's worry will never cease
Until he retires and can live in peace!

Cleaners

This poem is dedicated to all those who do cleaning
of one sort or another.

Some people look down at others
for the jobs they do
and if your one of them
here is warning just for you.
You may think you’re intelligent,
but I don’t think you are.
You may think you are smart,
well, think again my friend.
There are a lot of smarter people
in jobs you may look down on.
Remember the old saying
never judge a book by its cover,
that also applies to jobs people do.
Some may only be there
to keep the money coming in
until the right job comes along.
One day your boss retires
and his job goes up for grabs.
You sit there pretty smug,
thinking that job will be yours.
You apply and don’t get it.
However, surprise, surprise
they give it so someone
you looked down upon.
You maybe snooty
and toffee nosed,
but give it a year or two
you may find yourself
doing the job they used to do.
So remember what I’m saying
never look down on anyone
no matter who they are.
Because some day in the future
they maybe looking down at you.

Sonnet: The Modern Man- a pity!

The modern man stays vexed despite his feats;
Dissatisfied in life, he staggers on;
Astounding is the range of things, he eats;
He always figures, he must be the don!

He rolls on limousines, before he walks;
A celebrity’s life, he acquires;
With artificiality, he well talks;
Prematurely in life, he then retires!

The heart of man is never happy yet;
He ne’er listens to conscience at all;
His soul afilled with sins is hell-ward set;
He fails to heed to God’s endearing call.

’Tis late to mend his ways or make amends;
His earthly life, without God’s mercy, ends!
