I think, with never-ending gratitude, that the young women of today do not and can never know at what price their right to free speech and to speak at all in public has been earned.

On Paper. Not In Reality.

Don't be foolish.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion.
Aren't we living in a society,
That welcomes free speech?

'Yes...
But it seems to me that...'

Next! ?

'I thought you said we live in a society,
That welcomes free speech? '

On paper.
Not in reality.
I've 'earned' my free speech.
Haven't you noticed how I select my words?
Only 'then' are you free to do so as well.

Next?
I will take two more opinions,
And that will be it!
No...
Not yours.
The good looking one,
From the state of Connecticut!
May I have your opinion, please?

America's fighting men and women sacrifice much to ensure that our great nation stays free. We owe a debt of gratitude to the soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for this cause, as well as for those who are blessed enough to return from the battlefield unscathed.

Young women today often have very little appreciation for the real battles that took place to get women where they are today in this country. I don't know how much history young women today know about those battles.

I made my mistakes, but in all my years of public life, I have never profited from public service. I've earned every cent. And in all of my years in public life I have never obstructed justice. And I think, too, that I can say that in my years of public life that I welcome this kind of examination because people have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I'm not a crook. I've earned everything I've got.

Fear of serious injury alone cannot justify oppression of free speech and assembly. Men feared witches and burnt women. It is the function of speech to free men from the bondage of irrational fears.

what I see...

when i look in the mirror
what do i see?
see a young women trying to find the right path
a young women trying to do whats best for us
the daughter that was never planned but yet brought so much happiness.

u can tell the girl standing in front of the mirror has been through so much
so much it made her the person who she is today...
a strong hearted women who can get through anything if she put her all into it.

but behind that strong women, is a women who isn't as strong as she thought.
a women who quits when things get ruff,
a women who is afraid of change,
afraid of doing the wrong things
afraid of losing the ones that mean the most

when i look into the mirror,
what do i see?

see a young women who is willing to do whats right.
willing to take that next step
willing to start the future over and have a new begining.

see a young women
who is finally letting the past not get the best of her
and moving forward.

Never Ending

I try to speak but I can only hear silence...
I say no words for that is how I feel... nothing
Only my thoughts can speak but only I can hear their low whispers...
They surround me at night speaking of you...
I try to shut them out...
but those never ending voices only speak louder...
Tormenting my heart until they get what they want...
I lay there and cry myself to sleep only to dream of your face...
Never ending thoughts;
Never ending voices;
Never ending dreams...

Bright Sunny Day

If you wake up in the morning light
Something doesn't seem
or know is right
Lay back and let your feeling show
Come on and let the people know
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Just ?? money
Your baby ??
??
Now come on boys,??
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.
Bad news is just an excuse
Get down and
let yourself keep loose
Go on and live for tomorrow
So much spent today in sorrow
Oh, that's the price that you pay
Oh, that's the price that you pay.

Die Young

Goto the wind, though the wind wont help you fly at all
Your backs to the wall
Then chase the sun, and it tears away and it breaks you as you run,
You run, you run!
[chorus]
So live for today
Tomorrow never comes
Die young
Behind the smile, theres danger and a promise to be told:
You never knew.
Lifes fantasy - to be locked away and still to think youre free
Youre free, were free!
[chorus]
So live for today
Tomorrow never comes
Die young
Die young, die young
Cant you see the writing on the wall?
Die young, gonna die young
Someone stopped the pain
Goto the wind, though the wind wont help you fly at all
Your backs to the wall
Then chase the sun, and it tears away and it breaks you as you run,
You run, you run!
So live for today
Tomorrow never comes
Die young, young!
Die young, die young!
Die young, die young, young!
Die young, die young, die young, die young, die young!!

04. Beautiful Women

young women, old women
in their heart
despite the years
the yearning to be beautiful

young women, old women
they look at each other
one with envy
the other with fear and contempt (of the wrinkles, old age)

young women, old women
they look into each other
one for a mother
the other for a daughter

You Just Havent Earned It Yet, Baby

If youre wondering why
All the love that you long for eludes you
And people are rude and cruel to you
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
You just havent earned it yet, baby
You just havent earned it, son
You just havent earned it yet, baby
You must suffer and cry for a longer time
You just havent earned it yet, baby
And Im telling you now ...
If youre wondering why
When all I wanted from life was to be famous
I have tried for so long, its all gone wrong
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
But you wouldnt believe me
You just havent earned it yet, baby
You just havent earned it, son
You just havent earned it yet, baby
You must suffer and cry for a longer time
You just havent earned it yet, baby
And Im telling you now ...
Ill tell you why
Ill tell you why
Today I am remembering the time
When they pulled me back
And held me down
And looked me in the eyes and said
You just havent earned it yet, baby
You just havent earned it, my son
You just havent earned it yet, baby
You must stay on your own for slightly longer
You just havent earned it yet baby
And Im telling you now ...
You just havent earned it yet, baby
Oh ...
You just havent earned it yet, baby
Oh ...
Oh

Honor Them

They are California 'kids' and New Englanders, through and through;
They hail from Iowa cornfields and Texas plains-
They are men and women ready to sacrifice
Their lives in the name of liberty-most would, twice!
With a selfless sense of purpose, they serve
So that all who crave freedom, get what they deserve;
This is why they suffer mnay and great pains,
This is why they shall always do what they do!
Honor them-either through remembrance or gratitude-
As they guard us, with a vigilant, selfless attitude;
Freedom is not free, they pay its price-
'Liberty and Justice for all'-anything else does not suffice;
So long as there are men and women willing to protect this,
There need be many others, who recognize and respect this!

Earned Happiness

From the day we first met,
I offered no pretense.
No attempts did I try,
To make for you a good first impression.

I learned very early in life,
To be 'me' without adornments.
And if that was not acceptable...
A connection was not meant!

From the day we first met,
I discussed with you my interests.
And they haven't changed from what they were.
They are the same today as is preferred.

But somehow you believe,
I have been deceiving.
When it has been you all this time...
Wasting mine playing hide and seek.

Somehow you believe,
I have been deceiving...
When all that I am,
Has been a public acknowledgement.

And that is why I live my life,
Free to be me.
With flaws and all to be addressed.
Leaving little to interfere with my earned happiness.

Hey...
To declare oneself to be free,
Is all the freedom one needs to experience it.

Never Ending

(words & music by kaye - springer)
Walk down to the beach at sunset
Look as far as you can see
You will find that endless ocean
And thats how my love will always be
I bring you never ending, never ending
Never ending, never ending
Never ending, never ending love
Look up at the sky at midnight
Gaze up on the starlit view
Just as heaven has no boundaries
Neither does my love for you
I bring you never ending, never ending
Never ending, never ending
Never ending, never ending love
Never ending love
Never ending love
Never ending love
Never ending love

Mutant

disconcerting from the first moment. how to know
freak from mutant. what rules and if not rules, what.
freaks release the mind from proud obligations of duty.
hate, admire, destroy, venerate; easiest of all, ignore:
all these are permitted by the freak;
mutants threaten status; lessons to be learned, vain glory
to the first to claim to place, relate, pin down, tame.
but not this. where it comes from, quite uncharted yet.
not freak but mutant. that is certain. regret that this is so
diminishes us in our own image.

it lives, works, by night. invisibly. under the skin
so to speak if speak. in what speech. what brain. for when tomorrow
next week next year we speak to it, its language learned
we’ll know we knew it not yesterday even today. it speaks us
not we it. easier then to write it off as freak
but irrevocably, echo on echo, it’s mutant. gratitude
might even be in order. but not yet, not now.

for uneasiness is the nature of this thing, that lives. the easy-going
are not invited here. it’s there to bring unease. only when
we have lived with it for say a year, may, may not, reveal,
not where it comes from nor where it may be going as it passes
but perhaps a glimpse of why it is here, no more than that.
you will not like it any more than you like this. naught
is for your comfort gentles all. one day you may see
beyond it, a fleeting invitation to gratitude. one day
you may see beyond it, something like a love so great
that it’s not what you wanted to want from love.
and then it may vanish whence it came.
or perhaps become so familiar that you wonder
why it seemed a freak, a mutant, for now
forever it speaks you. poetry.
