New York State is upside down and backwards; high taxes and low performance. The New York State government was at one time a national model. Now, unfortunately, it's a national disgrace. Sometimes, the corruption in Albany could even make Boss Tweed blush.

Empire State
Written by lindsey buckingham.
New york, open your eyes to me
Let me be what I want to be
Tell me, tell me its not too late
Big apple, takin a bite of me
Whole world movin below my feet
Not like, not like we do in l.a.
New york, make me a part of you
Straight, straight through the heart of you
Tell me, tell me its not too late
Flying high on the empire state
Flying high on the empire state
New york, watch me burn ya down
Straight, straight through the heart of town
Tell me, tell me Im not too late
Big apple, takin a bite of me
Whole world movin below my feet
Not like, not like we do in l.a.

New York Times
New york poor new york
New york poor new york
Cars choking your child to death
But you dont wanna see
Cause you only think about yourself
How blind can you be
New york poor new york
Sniper on the rooftop new york
New york poor new york
Not fit for a dog in new york
Everybody bites on the big apple
Leave the hungry in tears
But no one gives a damn no one really cares
How they feel theyre just paper people not real
You need a gun to walk into new york
Now youre broke and youre out on a ledge
Who can help you this time
Now youre down to your very last cent
Still youre askin me who was your friend
I was your friend
New york poor new york
Who turned the lights out in new york
New york poor new york
Just another blackout in new york
Girl dead on the 26th floor
But no one knew her name
Found her body behind the door
Too young for the game
New york poor new york
Devils in the subway new york
New york poor new york
New york poor new york
Talkin talkin talkin - watch out
Harlem touching midtown new york
New york poor new york
Talkin bout new york new york
Moneys getting tighter new york
Theyre burning the bridges to new york

Keystone State of mind- song parody
Parody of New York State of mind
Some folks though we’d get away
Take a Holiday from the neighborhood
Hop a Flight out to Disneyland
Play the series in the Angel’s hood
But I’m stuck here in traffic
Out on Route I- 95
I’m in a Keystone state of mind
We’ve seen all those Dodgers
Leave in their 25 separate Limousines
Froze our ass in the Rockies
Beating a better team
Now you know who we’re facing
And I’m not going to waste your time
I’m in a Keystone State of Mind
It was so easy winning day by day
When the New York Mets limped into town
But I’m afraid things might not go our way
when the New York Yankees bat around.
I root for a Philly team that has lost more times
Than any other team playing any sport
I root for a team that’s named for a female horse.
I come from a city that snowballs
Santa Claus
I’m in a Keystone State of Mind

And I just think that we're at a point in our economic life here in our state - and - and, candidly, across the country, where increased taxes is just the wrong way to go. The people of our state are not convinced that state government, county government, local government has done all they can with the money we already give them, rather than the money that we have before.

We are angry about paying the highest income taxes and property taxes in the nation and getting less and less for it. We are angry about our incompetent, dysfunctional government that pays no attention to the desires of the people. We are angry about the cesspool of corruption and conflicts of interests and self-dealing that is Albany.

New York, New York
Start spreadin the news, Im leavin today
I want to be a part of it, new york, new york
These vagabond shoes are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it, new york, new york
I want to wake up in a city that doesnt sleep
And find Im king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues are melting away
Ill make a brand new start of it in old new york
If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere
Its up to you new york, new york
New york, new york I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps
And find Im a- number one, top of the list, king of the hill, a- number one
These little town blues, are melting away
Im gonna make a brand new start of it in old new york
And if I can make it there, Im gonna make it anywhere
Its up to you new york, new york.. new york!

A Heart In New York
New york
To your tall skyline I come
Flying in from london
To your door
New york
Lookin down on central park
Where they say you should not wander
After dark
New york
Like a scene from all those movies
But youre real enough to me
But theres a heart
A heart that lives in new york
A heart in new york
A rose on the street
I write my song to that city heartbeat
A heart in new york
Love in her eye
An open door and a friend for the night
New york
You got money on your mind
And my words dont make a dimes
Worth a difference
So heres to you new york
New york
Now my plane is touching down

A Good Citizen
When i hear someone referred to as a good citizen i feel like laughing aloud
Your government approves of you big brother of you proud
But if you die tomorrow the government won't care
To them you are just a number and your type are not rare,
The government and big brother you do not need to impress
Their approval or disapproval will not ease your cares and stress
The one who is a good friend to the neighbour is surely far more great
Than the one big brother looks upon as a good friend of the State,
The good citizens pay their taxes and work hard for their pay
And they vote in a lousy Government on National election day
And good citizens dob in their fellow citizen to the police for a minor traffic offence
In their quest for big brother's approval they sacrifice common sense
And many more good citizens they passed away today
They worked hard and voted in a lousy government and their taxes they did pay.

Streets Of New York
[Nas] (Alicia Keys)
Nasty, yeah, yeah (New York, New York)
Hey yo black it's time again, yeah, yeah
(New York, New York)
Come here, yeah, yeah
(New York, New York)
Hey yo black it's time
[Nas]
If you knew my streets
You would know all everybody talk about is who got beef
Who snitchin, who told police
Who came home, who still gone, who restin in peace
Now they killin over music money, not drugs, rap replaced it
Cause thugs with no brains got no patience
New jacks I pistol whip 'em with the funky rhythm I be kickin
Musician and flatten composition
A pain, I'm like Saddam Hussein
Still alive lookin at his dead children's burnt remains
I burnt the game, learnt you lames a new lesson
Your crew's soft man, ya'll need some new weapons
The P's breathe Warriorz and skullies and Timmies
Around mixed, spics, niggaz and giddies
From my ghetto kings in deep thought we don't blink
But don't think we wastin our time
It's a New York State of Mind
[Chorus

New York
In New York freedom looks like
Too many choices
In New York I found a friend
To drown out the other voices
Voices on a cell phone
Voices from home
Voices of the hard sell
Voices down a stairwell
In New York
Just got a place in New York
In New York summers get hot
Well into the hundreds
You can walk around the block
Without a change of clothing
Hot as a hair dryer in your face
Hot as a handbag and a can of mace
New York
I just got a place in New York
New York

There Will Be No Political Solution
Breaking News
by JORDANA HORN
September 22nd 2010.
Oh dear the Palestinian Prime Minister
“angrily left a UN Ad-Hoc Liaison Committee
meeting and canceled a scheduled subsequent
press conference with Deputy Foreign Minister
Daniel Ayalon in New York on Tuesday, after
Ayalon refused to approve a summary
of the meeting which said 'two states' but did
not include the words 'two states for two peoples.'
'What I say is that if the Palestinians are not willing
to talk about two states for two peoples, let alone a
Jewish state for Israel, then there's nothing to talk
about, ' Ayalon told the Post in a telephone interview. '
“And also, I said if the Palestinians mean, at the end
of the process, to have one Palestinian state and one
bi-national state, this will not happen.' [Deadlock! ]
'I also said that I don't need the Palestinians to say Israel
is a Jewish state in Hebrew. I need them to say it in Arabic
to their own people.''If the Palestinians think that they can
create one Palestinian state and one dual-nationality state,
this will not happen, ' [Irreconcilable Political Differences! ]
'But Israel will not accept an all or nothing approach,
or any ultimatums or any preconditions.' [Intractable! ]
And there you have it folks, the importance of three words
“for two peoples'! Thus suffering continues in stalemate!

New York
New York, New York
A city that breathes endlessly
Dollars are spent carelessly
New York, New York
A city of squares and blocks
And the Stars roll and rock
While tourist flock
Like sheep cornered in squares
Entertainment, clubs and theatres
Is all that seems to matter
Twenty four seven
Alive in heaven
New York
A taxi takes you round and round the blocks
I end up in Madison Square
Where I started out twenty minutes before
But who cares?
This is New York
Every where there are open doors
New York, New York
A city that never sleeps
Everywhere you must leave a tip
But this city is worth the trip
New York, New York
A city of numbers and avenues
And elongated queues
It is true
I see now, I know now
About what they say about New York!
