In childhood I developed a serious throat infection, and my heart stopped beating. I recovered from that illness with a voice that boomed forth like Kate Smith's!

Only darkness
Coming out of the theatre
I find an oxygen pipe in my throat,
I am strapped down on a wheeled bed
with people swarming around me.
When the pipe comes out of my mouth
I look at them and they look at me
and they are rather astonished
that I have come to my wits and my throat is sore.
You were dead for moments,
far past unconsciousness,
your heart stopped beating,
you stopped breathing, one of them says
and want to know what I am seeing now?
People standing in a circle
around me clothed in green jackets
I say hoarsely
and answer the question: who I am.
Then one asks somewhat nonchalant
what I remember from the other side?
When I look at him without comprehending
someone else wants to know
how it is to be dead?
On which I answer:
only darkness.

Sincerely Me
Dear your name here...
Its been a long time, very long time
Since Ive heard your voice
And I bet she never thought I was
So sorry so?
Ive had a hard time very hard time
Seeing less of you
I never thought you knew
So can you see
Youre seeing less of me darling
And your blind to the fact that my
Heart stopped beating
And Im as good as dead
And Im as good as dead
Dear I forgot your name again...
Just picking up where I left off
(oh yeah) this is the part where you leave me
So sorry so?
Ive had a hard time, very hard time
Seeing less of you
I never thought you knew
So can you see
Youre seeing less of me darling
And your blind to the fact that my
Heart stopped beating
So can you see
Youre seeing less of me darling
And your blind to the fact that my
Heart stopped beating
And Im as good as dead
And Im as good as dead
This is all I have to say (to say)
So can you see
Youre seeing less of me darling
And youre blind to the fact that my
Heart stopped beating
So can you see
Youre seeing less of me darling
And your blind to the fact that my
Heart stopped beating

Proud man can't sing well
proud man can't sing well
his heart is too high
his voice is in his throat
his throat will be choked in high pitch
makes him can not breathe well
and his body trembled in lower ground
his voice is not clear and honest
he sings because he is proud
bot because he likes the song or likes to sing
he sings not for everybody
he sings for his pride
his heart is in his throat
and his voice will choke his throat

A Seduction: The Corner I
I saw you in my corner eye
your hands so large
your arms
bare;
I moved diagonally
where I came into your view
but not
obviously
but close enough
for you to have your look.
And you did look
and fixed me
in your green-eyed gaze
colors which changed
upon your approach.
I turned
to feign
not noticing you.
Meantime my bare back
and spaghetti straps
were aflame;
so close you were.
And that voice
boomed softly
just a bare breath away.
My knees waved
a little shudder
and regained
but not before
that voice
boomed again
and I remember 'Hi.'
I seduced you
and you I-
'hi'
and my
wavy knees.

The Song Of The Beating Drums We’re Never Apart
The song of the beating drums we’re never apart
Overfills a dam just like a beating flood
The beating love for a beating heart
The beating song of a beating heart
Play the song of the beating drums
The love lust of the beating blood
Always together never ever apart
The beating song of the drums
Crashing through everything
We’re here for each other
Never ever beating apart
Just like a beating heart
Our beating hearts
The Beating Song OF The Drums
The beating song of the drums
The beating song of a beating heart
The love lust of the beating blood
Overfills a dam just like a beating flood
Crashing through everything
Never ever beating apart
The beating love for a beating heart
Just like a beating heart
Always together never ever apart
We’re here for each other
Our beating hearts
Play the song of the beating drums
The song of the beating drums we’re never apart
I am exceedingly lucky that my voice, along with perfect pitch and perfect rhythm, was given me at birth.

We have not passed that subtle line between childhood and adulthood until we move from the passive voice to the active voice-that is, until we have stopped saying 'It got lost,' and say, 'I lost it.'

We Let the Illness In
At first, we both make contact
With mucus membranes,
And we let the illness in.
The fevers we may contract
Fester in our brains,
And we let the illness in.
We won't know how to react
While writhing in pain,
And we let the illness in.
Yet, such is the fate we pick,
Choosing to be sick,
And we let the illness in.

The Daft Days
The midnight hour is clinking, lads,
An' the douce an' the decent are winking, lads;
Sae I tell ye again,
Be't weel or ill ta'en,
It's time ye were quatting your drinking, lads.
Gae ben, 'an mind your gauntry, Kate,
Gi'es mair o' your beer, an' less bantry, Kate,
For we vow, whaur we sit,
That afore we shall flit,
We'se be better acquaint wi' your pantry, Kate.
The "daft days" are but beginning, Kate,
An we're sworn. Would you hae us a sinning, Kate?
By our faith an' our houp,
We will stick by the stoup
As lang as the barrel keeps rinning, Kate.
Thro' hay, an' thro' hairst, sair we toil it, Kate,
Thro' Simmer, an' Winter, we moil it, Kate;
Sae ye ken, whan the wheel
Is beginning to squeal,
It's time for to grease an' to oil it, Kate.
Sae draw us anither drappy, Kate,
An' gie us a cake to our cappy, Kate;
For, by spiggot an' pin!
It's waur than a sin
To flit when we're sitting sae happy, Kate.

Baby Kate
Kate closes the door
falls to her bedroom floor
kate cant even stand
the results in her hand
Kate closes her eyes
sees happiness she tries
to see a new world
but theres a worried girl
A girl stood staring
showing concern, caring
her heart is broken
looks up her eyes open
Kate picks herself up
a nightmare kate is shook
sees her reflection
then she asks a question
Can i get through this?
it was also her whish
can this pain be gone?
but kate doesnt respond
Puts on her lipstick
she had been feeling sick
so she took the test
kates chronicaly depressed
Posative results
kate took many insults
through out her life time
now isnt the right time
A jobs on the way
to give kate better pay
but kate can not work
it is over for her
Kate sits in her room
mayby a baby soon
kates next door neighber
kates neighbers in laber
Kates neighbers baby
is so small its crazy
the test was posative
kate never had a kid
Kate only whishes
that she could have a kid
that she could just live
kates test was posative
Just a simple smear
cancer and it was clear
kate didnt want
anyone to hear
The neighbers baby
came home it was crazy
police were everywhere
ambulances were there
At exacly seven
kate went to heaven
but for what its worth
a new baby girl
named after kate
came down to earth
and when kate went to heaven
baby kate was born
at exacly seven.

The dreaded chair
He knew his time had arrived
his heart was beating fast
sweat trickled down his back
he felt faint and nauseous.
The night before he couldn't sleep
he lay there staring at the ceiling
the clock ticked noisily by his bed
he hoped tomorrow wouldn't come.
He wished he could find a way out
but he knew it had to be done
there was no turning back now
he just had to stay strong.
Then his name was called out
he was ushered to the large chair
his legs wobbled like jelly
strong hands stopped him from falling.
A light was shining into his face
a pair of eyes stared down at him
his throat was so dry he couldn't talk
fear gripped him like an evil vice.
He hoped this would be over quickly
get it over with he tried to say
but he was so scared it hardly came out
his heart wanted to explode out of his chest.
Then a calm voice spoke gently to him
'Don't be nervous, your in safe hands
your only going to have a tooth out.'
How he hated going to the Dentists!

Mine
O HOW my heart is beating as her name I keep repeating,
And I drink up joy like wine:
O how my heart is beating as her name I keep repeating,
For the lovely girl is mine!
She's rich, she's fair, beyond compare,
Of noble mind, serene and kind--
And how my heart is beating as her name I keep repeating,
For the lovely girl is mine!
O how my heart is beating as her name I keep repeating,
In a music soft and fine;
O how my heart is beating as her name I keep repeating,
For the girl I love is mine.
She owns no lands, has no white hands,
Her lot is poor, her life obscure;--
Yet how my heart is beating as her name I keep repeating,
For the girl I love is mine!
