I knew there was something special about the theater for me something beyond the regular reality, something that I could get into and transcend and become something other than myself.

When I was thinking about The Lion King, I said, we have to do what theater does best. What theater does best is to be abstract and not to do literal reality.

Sometimes you get caught up in what's going on around you. The reality is that you are just a regular person. At some point, the career will be over, the bright lights turn off. That can come back to haunt you if you're not just a regular guy.

Regular Guy
Im the kind of guy a girl takes home to mom
Pleated khaki pants, and cologne thats the bomb
(you sure smell perty)
Shake her dads hand
Look him in the eye
And tell him straight up Im just a regular guy (ill have her home by 9 sir)
Im a regular guy who stays out of trouble( let me get that for you mam)
A regular guy says mam on the double( Im on it)
Im a regular guy just like dawsons creek
A regular guy just dont call me a geek, a geek yeah
But sometimes I remember what got me here
It was friday and cussing
Back off Im in a boy band
And showing no fear
I watch jay leno (hes funny) 7th heaven too
And I ask myself sometimes what would jesus do
Grab me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Im buds with my mom
And I hang out with my dad..hes my buddy
I play everything safe so Ill never be sad (boo hoo)
Im a regular guy who stays out of trouble( let me get that for you mam)
A regular guy says mam on the double( Im on it)
Im a regular guy just like dawsons creek
A regular guy just dont call me a geek, a geek yeah
Dont push me.
Damnt sometimes I wanna smash things up
Jacked up and wrapped upIm in a boy band.. a boyband
And have to pee in a cup
Im a regular guy who stays out of trouble( let me get that for you mam)
A regular guy says mam on the double( Im on it)
Im a regular guy just like dawsons creek
A regular guy just dont call me a geek, a geek yeah

There are many ways to be free. One of them is to transcend reality by imagination, as I try to do.
No Need To Argue
Theres no need to aruge anymore
I gave all I could
But it left me so sore
And the thing that makes me mad
Is the one thing that I had
I knew, I knew, Id lose you
Youll always be special to me
And I remember all the
Things we once shared
Watching tv movies on
The living room armchair
But they say it will work out fine
Was it all a waste of time
Cause I knew, I knew, Id lose you
Youll always be special to me
Will I forget in time
You said I was on your mind
Theres no need to argue
No need to argue anymore
Theres no need to argue anymore
Special

The Art Of Life
If anyone believes,
The one standing alone...
Taking the heat under spotlight,
Runs the show...
Hasn't met the director or the producer,
The manager, assistant manager.
The script writer, agent, publicist...
And a host of others behind the scenes.
If anyone believes,
The one standing alone...
Taking the heat under spotlight,
Runs the show...
Doesn't know theater.
Or who calls the shots,
To enable any light to shine
And be spotted anywhere.
Theater is staged.
No matter whose name is on the marquee,
To sell the tickets.
Theater is staged.
And the best acts are trained to fill the seats.
If one knew theater,
One would know the art of life.
And the importance of having not only a good director...
But one with the bucks,
Who can keep the production afloat long enough to seduce...
Is the key to selling an audience sold on what they see,
Until the curtain drops to signal the end of the performance.
Taken from its natural habitat to be staged,
The art of life...
Is only theater to delude and to captivate believers.

Something Special
SOMETHING SPECIAL
Chorus 1:
Theres something special about you
When it comes to you theres something special
Theres something special about love
I swear to God it comes from heaven up above
You make me feel like no one else before
You make me wonder how easy it is to love
You make me wonder how easy it is to love.
Theres something special about a kiss
It makes me want no other lover
Cause you make me feel like this
When youre away I want no other.
I never found what I was looking for
I got to wonder if no star would ever shine
I cant explain it but somehow deep inside
I always knew that when it did Id recognise you.
Chorus 2:
Theres something special about you
When it comes to you theres something special
Theres something special about love
I swear to God it comes from heaven up above.
Now I know what Ive been doing here
Now I know what its all about
Cause in your arms is where I wanna be
In your arms is where I always wanna be, cause.
Chorus 3:
Theres something special about you
When it comes to you theres something special
Theres something special about love
I swear to God it comes from heaven up above.
Theres something special about you
Theres something special about a kiss
Theres something special about love
I swear to God it comes from heaven up above
Theres something special about you
Theres something special about a kiss
Cause you make me feel like this

I live halfway between reality and theater at all times. And I was born this way.
Transcend
transcend fame
there is more beyond the sound
of the clapping hands
transcend even your way
of looking at yourself
for when you begin to close your eyes
and even be blind
with what you can see
it is at this moment
when you begin to see what everyone
has not ever seen
it is everything now
not something not someone
not where not when
not what and not even why
wonder and wonder and keep
wondering
that is the start and the beginning
and there
there is no time even

Cubic Picasso Cubism
'Cubism quanta measureless'
is another reality perception phrase
reality surreal continues voyages
was not ‘'Cubism' Picasso’ written
reflecting upon our earlier conversation?
does not our regular discussion upon art
all realities before between after
not enrich perceptive worlds thoughts art
does not Picasso emotion inflict our souls?

Something Special
You may not know it
I dont always show it
But youre so important to me
So much that weve shared
Youve always been there
I hope you always will be
Chorus:
cause you are something special, ooh-wee
Yes, you are something special to me
When Im around you
The love that surrounds you
Brings comfort and warmth to my heart
A god-given treasure
You give me such pleasure
You are a true work of art
Chorus:
Yes, you are something special, yes indeed
Yes, you are something special to me
Bridge:
Youre the wind neath my wings
Like the song that they sing
But theres so many things that you are
An angel in my life
You are the sunlight
And you hung the moon and the stars
Yes, youre special
Turnaround
Chorus:
Yes, you are something special, ooh-wee
Yes, you are something special, yes indeed
Yes, you are something special to me
Mm-mm
Fade:
You are something special
Mm-mm, youre something special
You are something special

Ex-girlfriend
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I hope I hold a special place with the rest of them
And you know it makes me sick to be on that list
But I should have thought of that before we kissed
You say youre gonna burn before you mellow
I will be the one to burn you
Whyd you have to go and pick me?
When you that we were different, completely
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I hope I hold a special place with the rest of them
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
Im another ex-girlfriend on your list
But I should have thought of that before we kissed
Your wildness scares me
So does your freedom
You say you cant stand the restrictions
I find myself trying to change you
If you were meant to be my lover I wouldnt have to
And I feel so mean, I feel in between
cause Im about to give you away
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend (for someone else to take)
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend (am I making a mistake? )
I hope I hold a special place with the rest of them (all the time that we
Spent) I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girl, friend
Im another ex-girlfriend on your list
But I should have thought of that before we kissed
Im another ex-girlfriend on your list
But I should have thought of that before we kissed
Im about to give you away for someone else to take
Im about to give you away for someone else to take
We keep repeating mistakes for souvenirs
And weve been in between the days for years
And I know that when I see you Im going to die
I know Im going to want you and you know why
Its going to kill me to see you with the next girl
cause Im the most gorgeously jealous kind of ex-girl
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girlfriend
I hope I hold a special place with the rest of them
I kinda always knew Id end up your ex-girl friend
Im another ex-girlfriend on your list
But I should have thought of that before we kissed
Im another ex-girlfriend on your list
But I should have thought of that before we kissed

Special
I been trying for so long
To get you where I stand
Feel like I been climbing all my life
Everybody told me
I'd never ever get this far
I know I can make it if I try
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
(come to you, you too, to you, do to, be do, you)
Special things come to you
There's no sense in trying to fight it
When I want something so bad
No, it's not as easy as it seems
Simple things are the hardest
Of the things we do for love
And I won't give up cause I'm not just what it means
The special things you dream about
And the special things you're all about
Special things that somehow come to you
And it's the simple things to just believe
And the special things that you want to see
Special things somehow come to you
(come to you, doo doo doo, to you, doo doo doo)
Special things (doo, doo ahh, you doo)
Do do doo, on you, do do doo, to you
Do doo, ahh, do do doo, too
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
The special things you dream about
And the special things you're all about
Special things that somehow come to you
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
And it's the simple things to just believe
And the special things that you want to see
Special things somehow come to you

I decided at age 9, but I was reinforced at age 13 when a teacher told me I had talent. I can't say she really motivated me because I already knew. I knew I had talent. I went to the Jewish community theater and got in plays there. Then I went for the movies.'

I do a vocal warm-up on stage. I like an empty theater. Alone on stage, before anyone's there, I take a few quiet moments to erase the regular world and get into one. I figure out what my first moment is about. I can't prepare for the whole play; that sort of charts itself out. If you start in the right place, nine times out of ten you'll end in the right place. It's just clearing the space for that moment to happen.
