The Redemption of Werthur
Oh don't let thy passion break free,
Taciturn and reserved thou should be,
Hearken to Werthur, the poor man,
Who was undone by effusive passion.
So say those of quiet disposition,
Who see demonstrative emotion as a sin,
Saying its not quite right,
For passion to give us that much fight,
They see it as a perversion of normal function,
From which we should all run,
They say that it appears unnatural,
To heed passions fiery call.
Better to keep it locked behind a facade of stone,
To make sure that its never shown,
Better to be hiding behind our reservations,
Than feel our natural sensations.
Better to be stoical without the philosophy,
Than let our emotions occasionally run free,
Better to be defended by a wall of indifference,
Than to be delighted by every sense.
However it is no crime to delight in sensation,
No crime to revel in elation,
No crime to see wonder in simple things,
No crime to be enjoy what life brings.
No crime to feel the temptations of emotion,
No crime to feel reverence and devotion,
No crime to feel desire coursing through our veins,
No crime to feel calm acceptance at what life ordains.
No crime to say what you feel,
No crime to let your heart occasionally reel,
No crime to feel what you say,
No crime to feel wonder at a dawning day.
No crime to take pleasure in vicissitude,
No crime to speculate about our finitude,
No crime to feel agog at Fortunes wheel,
It's no crime to feel.
It is a crime to deny the Human side,
Where passion is left outside,
It is a crime to think passion faulty,
It is a crime to not let emotion free.
There are times when we should temper,
Passion shouldn't be raging Semper,
Times when we should cool the fires,
Times when its wrong to act on our desires.
But it's a greater wrong to act like stone,
Denying feelings to the Heart you own,
Werthur was undone by passion I don’t deny,
But he lived a life of wonder before he was resolved to die.
Instinct, Emotional and Rational
The Instinct, the Emotional, and the Rational
Are the stages at which your mind functions,
Together or severally in variant degrees.
Hunger and survival: The Instinct springs.
Love and hate: The Emotional surges.
Right and wrong: The Rational decides.
In the game of chess, you are rational.
In the game of love, you are emotional.
In the game of sex, you are instinctual.
The Rational mind is your judge.
The Emotional mind is your advocate.
The Instinctual mind is your subject.
When judge fails, when advocate fails,
The subject spurts to save the self
Or feeds the self without fail.
The Rational abide by the codes.
The Emotional deviates from it.
The Instinct violates it.
The Rational decides how to face.
The Emotional positions the move.
But the Instinct accomplishes it.
Far sighted is the Rational.
Short sighted is the Emotional.
Blind is the Instinct.
The Instinct reels under the Emotional.
The Emotional trails behind the Rational.
The Rational strives to manage them both.
The child is more under the Instinct.
The adult is more under the Emotional.
The old is more under the Rational.
The Rational lacks vigour.
The Emotional lacks balance.
The Instinct lacks prudence.
The Rational has distant motive.
The Emotional has immediate motive.
The Instinct has instant motive.
Intellectuals are rational.
Poets and lovers are emotional.
The ignorant are instinctual.
The Rational wages cold war.
The Emotional engages in verbal war.
The Instinctual commits physical war.
You are rational in forenoon.
You are emotional in afternoon.
You are instinctual at night.
The Instinctual is skillful.
The Emotional is forceful.
The Rational is careful.
A man and a woman in a tete-a-tete,
They are outwardly rational,
Inwardly emotional and deep instinctual.
In Cricket, a low catch at slip
Is well taken by Instinct and a
Lofty one in long-on, judged and missed.
The Instinct ignites the revolt.
The Emotion fuels it.
The Rational sedates it.
By Instinct you steal.
By Emotion, you weep and laugh.
By Rational, you criticize.
The Instinct feeds your senses.
The Emotion feeds your mind.
The Rational feed your ego.
Love for food and sex is the Instinct.
Love for arts and music is emotional.
Love for fame and name is the Rational.
A man or woman is all of three.
But they will vary in degree.

Bad Career Moves A Chosen Pursuit
that which you take unlawfully
which does not belong to you
is not cool dude choice or trendy
it is a sin funny sin is still in fashion?
stealing is free ticket to state penitentiary
all past good deeds are not submissible
do not equate to get out of jail free ticket
imprisonment a British holiday on the Queen
do the crime do the time when convicted dude
crime does not pay you are going to be caught
Why would any rational person make this choice?
Yes I know to feed your drug addiction alcoholism
gambling obsession shopping spree or your family?
Perhaps your illness needs are best solved differently?

Monster
they know they
are losing grounds
because they are
not native, native
to the land, which is
all that matters
they also know
that all would be
losing grounds
if this frustrating matter
is not handled with
proper care
they have put in
so much of the work
to make sure
everybody thrives
and they hope all
would know but racism
seems to be a monster
that always rears its head
at the wrong places
and wrong time
the devil shrouded
itself to be the mother
of those who would
lose grounds materially,
spiritually all round

We Are Defended By Those We Do Not Know The Names Of
WE ARE DEFENDED BY THOSE WE DO NOT KNOW THE NAMES OF
We are defended by those we do not know the names of -
And when one is killed
We know the name for a moment,
Before leaving the long memory to the family-
A few it is true – special heroes-
Have stories and names that remain through the years.
But mostly the dead are anonymous
And the wounded and the injured too.
And a country and a people goes on in freedom-
While in this family or that
Which we will always pray we will not be among
Pain and Loss Forever.

Partners In Crime
Alright
I know your wheels are turning, got your fire burning
I know your hearts as cold as stone
Youre covered in abuses, dripping with excuses
I know you got a lover at home
But youll come here to me, time after time
Youll go down on your knees
Yeah girl I can read your mind
Because were partners in crime, partners in crime
Your going empty handed, smiling like a bandit
Knocking on my window each night
Youre sweeter than a beauty queen, darker than a limousine
Need me cause I feel right
Yeah when its sink or its swim and the temperature flies
You get your body so close and lay it all on the line
Because were partners in crime, partners in crime
Because were partners in crime, ooh yeah
When its sink or swim and the tales thats youre blind
You get your body so close and lay it all on the line
Because were partners in crime, partners in crime
Ooh yeah, because were partners in crime
Because were partners in crime
Partners in crime, partners in crime
Lets go, ha

In The Night
Zazou, what youre gonna do?
Theres a lot of people coming for you
Zazou, comment allez-vous?
A knock on the door in the night
That zazou, he dont care
Dark glasses, long hair
Takes his time, sneers at men
Some ugly people want revenge
Zazou, comment allez-vous?
A knock on the door in the night (in the night)
In the night (in the night)
That zazou, he sleeps all day
Then down to select or le collisee
Sips his drinks, orders more
Says what he thinks and its a crazy war
Zazou, what youre gonna do?
A knock on the door in the night
(in the night in the night ...)
Zazou, comment allez-vous?
A knock on the door in the night (the night the night)
And when the soldiers strut, all he cares about
Is love
When the flags are out, all he cares about
Is love
Well, theres a thin line between love and crime
And in this situation
A thin line between love and crime and -

In the night

In the night (in the night in the night)
Zazou, what youre gonna do?
Theres a lot of people coming for you
Zazou, comment allez-vous?
A knock on the door in the night
Now everybodys under somebodys spell
Unless theyve already gone to hell
In the streets you can hear the people say
That, zazou, he should be locked away!
When the soldiers strut, all he cares about
Is love
Oh, when the flags are out, all he cares about
Is love
And theres a thin line between love and crime

A thin line between love and crime and
