I don't know if 1300 players could really participate in the selection of a commissioner, and I've never given it a great deal of thought. I think it's a logical point they could make, but it's only an academic one.

The difference of great players is at a certain point in a match they raise their level of play and maintain it. Lesser players play great for a set, but then less.

Rather than saying that the commissioner is hired by the owners and therefore is subservient to them, you have to look at whether or not the players are getting a fair shake.

You know, when you can play with the greatest players of that particular era, you look forward to going to the ballpark. I mean, you thought it was great to be there in the clubhouse. You thought it was great to be on the field.

Can You Deal With It?
(words and music: duran duran)
There must be somebody
Wholl make love to me.
Blow the rules away
And trash these yesterdays.
Live in simpathy
Use psychology.
To find the twist in me (ah-ha)
Can you deal with it?
Recent enquiry
Showed now boundry.
Loves the only way
Can you handle it?
Can you deal with it? (oowa)
Can you deal with it?
Can you deal with it? (oowa)
Can you deal with it?
Can you deal with it?
When you aint sorry? (can you deal with it? )
For all that you appologise (can you deal with it? )
Working up to something,
I know youre up to something...
Yeahhhh...
Can you deal with it? (somethings got to happen)
Can you deal with it? (somethings got to get me up)
Say you deal with it? (but nothing never happens)
Can you deal with it? (cos nothings ever good enough)
Say you deal with it?
Can you deal with it? (somethings got to happen)
Can you deal with it? (somethings got to get me up)
Say you deal with it? (but nothings gonna happen)
Can you deal with it? (cos nothings ever good enough)
Say you deal with it?

I Thought We Were Talking About Me?
I see the 'me-me I-I' in you.
I was there...
Glued to myself too!
Thinking the world didn't exist,
Until I awakened.
With beliefs that my wants,
Belonged to everyone's wishes.
And on my tantrum days...
I went ballistic!
If my needs were not being fulfilled!
Whether or not...
It took magic to make my whims realistic.
And then one day I was slapped by truth!
When I took a backseat to a waning youth.
Maturing made that happened.
Glad I am that it did.
I was getting to the point I couldn't stand myself.
And there's nothing like watching a grown man in tears...
Because he doesn't like himself,
Or who he is!
Or what he has done to make others run!
Today I thank God that guy has gone!
Now I deal with someone...
Who thinks he knows more about life than anyone!
And 'now' I don't know which one I'd rather deal with!
At least I am kept entertained!
'I thought we were talking about me? '
We were!
But don't you think I am a better topic?
Comeon...
Be subjective about it!

I really have a great deal of humility in that department, and a great deal of respect for people who spend their lives learning how to make these amazing preparations.
You must be fully prepared to lose a great deal in order to make a great deal.
It requires a great deal of boldness and a great deal of caution to make a great fortune and when you have got it, it requires ten times as much wit to keep it.

My Thoughts
Thought in the eyes,
The ears.
Thought in mind,
The brain,
Thought in heart,
The soul.
Great thought is great
when it becomes great deeds.
With my thoughts within
Building my world within
Learning with thought;
Is great learning wisdom.
Learning without thought,
Is opportunity lost.
Thought for others
Thought for God
Thought for good
Thought for God’s blessing
Thoughts teach me,
Thoughts educate me,
Thoughts clarify me,
Thoughts enlighten me.
Thoughts make me wise
Thoughts make me patience
Thoughts make me trust others
Thoughts make me clam.
Thoughts before act
Is smart and wise
Act before thoughts
Is stupid and foolish
That’s my thoughts
They make thinking clear
They make belief deepen
They make confidence high.
In thoughts, my world
In my world, make my thoughts.
In thoughts, my words
In my words, make my speech
It’s my thoughts count
Counting my thoughts
To endless counting thoughts
Thinking the thoughts endlessly
My thoughts and thoughts again.

Adaptables
To Live is to collaborate
All the spineless people
won't capitulate
Will walk again
Will walk again
Will evacuate
And stimulate
And they will wait for the Man
With that ridiculous fairy hand
To work on their lives
And to re-adjust their faith
All the spineless people
Will walk again
Will walk again
Will agitate
And ejaculate
A great act of Sex will be lived here
We will call it The Great and Only Shame
We will make love to ourselves
And tomorrow we will make the same
Make the same
All the Insect actors
Want to participate
Will perform again
Will perform again
Will dissociate
And fabricate
And they will wait for the Dictator
With that apocalyptic Lizard Head
To review their births
And invert their pains
All the Insect actors
(really) want to participate
Will perform again
Will perform again
Will imitate
And simulate
An emergency will be staged
We will call it The Great Accident
We will act as someone else
The very ones we learnt to hate
All of us the ultra-Human
Wish to associate
will hesistate
will adequate
and collaborate.
a great act of Free Will will be lived here
They already call it the Golden Age
We will adapt and celebrate
But we will perish just the same
Just the same

Do It! It Works
Don't deal with those,
Who wish you failure.
Or participate in their shenanigans.
You've got to watch your back,
Around people like that.
Don't seek from them approval,
Or try to appeal with your disclosures.
But keep your eyes open...
And your tongue still,
Behind a mouth kept closed.
Today it's getting more difficult,
To even trust yourself.
And you know who you are.
And what it takes to weaken your temptations.
It is worse to make promises...
The lips may utter,
But the heart does not keep.
And sharing them with others...
Does not decrease their teasing.
They may not admit it...
But they wish to see you quit!
To rid yourself of dreams.
So they can be the ones to say...
Give up your hopes,
As they scheme.
While doing their best to discourage your efforts.
By saying things intended to demean.
Don't deal with those,
Who wish you failure.
Or participate in their shenanigans.
You've got to watch your back,
Around people like that.
And...
Don't seek from them approval,
Or try to appeal with your disclosures.
But keep your eyes opened.
And your tongue sitting still.
Keep your teeth clinched...
Behind a mouth kept closed.
And you will remain peaceful,
Happy and fulfilled.
Do it!
It works.
Few who make claims they know you...
Are not that supportive of your success!
Choose to remove your life...
From someone else's contest.
Champion your own efforts.
Do it!
It works.

Sesquipedalian (With Apologies To Ogden Nash)
My poems are somewhat, in fact quite a lot, not to put too fine a point on it, just a bit or, notwithstanding everything else I will say, a great deal sesquipedalian;
They are packed full, to wit, of long-winded words that don’t fit and ululating complicated and multi-syllabic, incomprehensible terms that feel almost alien.
I’m not sure if, for cash, that flash, brash Ogden Nash hasn’t had the notion of creating this version; if not, then he should have done
Or whether, if other bards in that scene had thought really hard of a means of fitting “sesquipedalian” in, they would have done.
But these trite tongue-twisters titillate the tonsils and test the talker
And I like lines that don’t quite rhyme, even though they ought to.
My odes ramble on as I try to make simile and metaphor fit.
I think it’s fine fun and that they just sound better for it.
But some of that ilk try to milk your emotions
With a totally misplaced unfounded notion
You should cram every short sentence;
Mine just go on and lengthen.
It’s not my fault that I chose
To be quite over-verbose.
Don’t have it in for me:
I’m seeking sympathy.
I’d love to be laconic,
But it’s just chronic.
Eschewing levity.
Going for brevity.
I really do lust
To be brusque.
I ought to
Be shorter
I’m sure I
Could try
Terse
Verse:
True,
Too.
By?
I?
But my poems are somewhat, in fact quite a lot, not to put too fine a point on it, just a bit
or, notwithstanding everything else I have said, a great deal (but I’m sure you won’t mind as I’ve reached the next line, which is where I should stop and let the matter drop) outstandingly boringly, snoringly sesquipedalian.

Sonnet: On Indian Cricket
The One-Day Cricket is live telecast;
'Tis India versus another great team;
The clime is good and pitch really fast;
The Indian batsmen now face bowler's seam.
The spectators hold placards and make noise;
Most fellowmen are glued to T.V-sets;
A 'sixer' makes all country-men rejoice;
The Indian players were good at the 'nets'!
Most unpredictable team are our boys;
Their team-work's seen once in a way, by luck;
Yet, players score a century with poise;
Some famous players come home with a 'duck'.
And still, they break records so very oft;
Their cricket is an entertaining art.

You've got to be extremely careful, because you could be with a great team, and you could be the product of a great team. There are some players that stand out despite the teams that they play on, and there are some players that are good because of the team that they're with.
