Soft Parachutes
Soft parachutes
Fourth of July
Villages burning
Returning
The bodies all laid in a line
Like soft parachutes
Last year as a senior
In Emerson High school
I had me a girlfriend
We used to get high
Now I am flyin
Down some Vietnam highway
Dont ask me the reason
God only knows why
Soft parachutes
Fourth of July
Villages burning
Returning
The bodies all laid in a line
Like soft parachutes

Letting Life Serve You
when you write
some words
you always have someone in mind
someone that you wonder
because you cannot control her
because she has become
too unpredictable
as she
like a worm grapples with the slowness
of her movements
upon the
indrawn lines of the leaf
seeping time
like tea
soon things happens by themselves
without our knowing
how the cocoon's silence
breaks and
gives way to life
how wings grow from
arms
how minds open like parachutes
of morning glories
along the untrodden paths of
this earth
you decide finally that sitting down
is the best thing to do
watching has become the wisest
philosophical option
things unfold like letters
that we have failed to read
chairs open their plain smoothness
for us to be there
tables are always ready with food
shoes get inside your feet
life becomes a banquet
and all those that it had given life
is always there to serve

Come Without Parachutes
Come to me without parachutes
Oh, temporal days!
And stuff my famished mouth
With the virulent petals
Of your constant withering
Come to me ceaselessly
Draw closer and sing to me
With the imperial drums rolling
We will make this grand
That the snowflakes cry in cant
I will come violently, come valiantly
We will crash through the ocean floor
Stir past the caroming people
With wobbly roots and low boughs
We can seize the undertow
Come, oh, so debonairly
Unfetter the parachutes
And let the body meet the soul
The caustic brunt will fulminate
But we'll come clean and consummate
Come to me without those parachutes
I tell you, the freefall will sedate you
And we'll collide with the frowning pits
The seraphs will muse in greed
Our plummeting and untangled hopes
Come, let's beat the angry street
I have been hanging here too long
Grinding the concrete floor
With all vehement ardor
I want to go, let us go down below
Come, my sedentary life,
Come to your funeral
Come darting like the sun
With a porcupine charm
Come without your parachutes.

Through Blue Skies Or Grey
through blue skies or grey watch seasons changes
feelings thoughts minds souls through wonder ranges
yellow petals one day transform into white honeycomb
fade into spectral preparation seeds in readiness to roam
dandelion seeds are spun web silk threads of freedom life
carried away by gust breath of wind or child’s puff glow spice
tiny silk stem parachute flowers, freedom launch breath awaiting
to travel like tiny parachutes, on breeze wind wonder never abating
strong wind can carry tiny flower parachutes, miles away from parent
plant yet freedom seed flying stays, within wonder of any vision heart

Open
How many places can one be at one time?
I believe various places
If we open up our minds, now
We don't just open our minds
We open your heart too
It really sort of easy and alot of fun to do
One two three is the total count for me
you also should count too
Let's review your complete score
Giving life to your visions
Is a way to explore
Practice makes perfect
So daily
do it some more
May each time you open the windows of
your mind and heart
Your joy increase as you demonstrate
The star in which you are

Who Told Them They Could Fly Their Own Kites?
Why on Earth are all those people standing in line.
So patient they seem.
And not one hint of any conflict between them.
All representing different ethnic 'persuasions' too.
What's going on?
All adorning those parachutes.
And...
If my own eyes did not betray me.
I would think they roll their own at 'Me'.
For Heaven's sake...
Who told them they could fly their own kites?
And wear their own parachutes?
Have I become too delusional?
'Well,
Your Highness...
Out of deep respect,
I will say 'yes' and 'no'.
You didn't hear this from me...
And you, of all people, know how gossip goes.
However...
I've heard it said,
The people have become extremely upset.
Because of your drama and fantasized policies.
And no longer buy into that concept,
Of wings, golden slippers, white robes...
And the playing of harps,
And trumpets in some afterlife.
The people have decided,
To take their own chances.
Think independently.
And they've prepared to leave the kingdom.'
That's preposterous!
'Like a rhinoceros wearing Gucci.
I agree.
But I do have a suggestion.'
Quick come out with it.
'We can contact Beyoncé.
She always comes up,
With some trend setting sounds.
Maybe she can compose something,
To turn their minds around.'
Yeah!
But I've already made a long term deal,
With Jay-Z...
To keep the beats pumping.
And I don't want to be the reason,
For any disagreements between those two.
I think they are two of the kingdom's best peeps.
Ya dig?

My Memory
I see a memory of mine distant,
Open your eyes to distance,
Have a danger to excite,
Eyes crawl, swaying and oscillating due to danger
Of guns, of gnats and over guests.
These guests are the pilots engineering their minds
To offend us in their slaughtering schemes.
By parachutes an attack is causing damage and injury
To a village of innocent blood.
By action of gunning, the guns are injuring us in other ways
And their slaughter is defence, just not offence.
My village needed my concern before a unique future began,
When a master believed in me, he must have destroyed me.
He said: Danger is hurting us deeply, so deeply that it hurt.
This I remember.

Opening Just Like Everybody Else
it is always easy to
open
all you have to do is
spread
sometimes you get so
thin
and people do not notice
even if
it is you at
all
it is always safe to open
together when they open
like umbrella during a sudden rain
this way
no one minds you
no one notices what you are
this way
you are safe and comforted
everyone is like you in the open
no one is unique
and no one hurts you again

Open Your Box
Open your box,
Open your box,
Open your trousers,
Open your thighs,
Open your legs,
Open, open, open, open, oooh.
Open, open, open, open,
Open your legs,
Open your flies,
Open your ears,
Open your nose,
Open your mouth,
Open, open, open, open, oooh.
Open.
Open your cold feet,
Open, open,
Open, open, open, let's open, let's open the cities.
Open the cities,
Open, open, open the world,
Open, let's open the world.
Open, open, oooh -
Open, open, ooh!

Institutions - government, churches, industries, and the like - have properly no other function than to contribute to human freedom; and in so far as they fail, on the whole, to perform this function, they are wrong and need reconstruction.
