We are never so ridiculous through what we are as through what we pretend to be.

That's Ridiculous
Have I ever laid a hand on you
Did I ever make you see the truth
Don't you ever say I never cared
Don't you ever say I never cared
That's ridiculous
That's ridiculous
That's ridiculous
Have I ever made a fool of you
Did I ever make you look at me
Don't you ever say I was never there
Don't you ever say I was never there
That's ridiculous
That's ridiculous
That's ridiculous
Have I ever made you shout at me
Did I ever take advantage
Don't you ever badmouth me
Don't you ever badmouth me
That's ridiculous
That's ridiculous
That's ridiculous
You can't hold me
Don't try to hold me
You can't hold me
Don't try to hold me

Ridiculosis
How ridiculous does 'ridiculous' have to become,
Before it gets 'ridiculi'?
And those expressing it...
'Ridiculated'?
It can not stay 'ridiculous' like this,
Without a single change!
And those suffering its affects...
Not realizing the depths of their involvment?
There is not enough of the antidote,
To cure their 'ridiculosis'!

Cynic With Love
Bias
Every word you say
Every thought you think
Every time you breathe
This ballad is so ridiculous
Your affections and love will wear thin
Those songs and poems so cliché
If only you could see it.
Write me an epic sonnet
To be remembered even when my soul has
Fluttered away
Into an abyss that you cannot reach
Use propaganda to advertise these stupid lies
When you see your love for me is singing gaily
All I hear is a personification
You’ll tire of me soon.
Give me a limerick
No not that place in Ireland
But that one where everything is the same
As it fades-the lion’s mane possesses fame
And soon I forget my name
Before it all becomes quite ridiculous and fun
So that all you feel is a warm sun
That would be a couplet
Then my heart goes BOOM, BANG, and CRASH
Ignorant onomatopoeia
Fighting for life so it’ll stop dying
Over your ridiculous sonnets and limericks and propaganda and personifications
Sigh
Why are your loose lips so inspiring
And heart stopping
And you won’t stop till somebody calls the cop
And even then you’ll start again and just pretend
Like nothing ever happened
You’ll say a meter and
then my heart will teeter
On the edge
Of giving into your enticing little happy love notes
No this is not a meter nothing is quite fitting correctly
But if you listen to a song
Then you just might get it
Well really only half of it because it wasn’t supposed to be this
It wasn’t supposed to go along with the song at the very end
And I’m running out of time your words are confusing
And hurting my mind
So we won’t stop until somebody calls the cops and even then we’ll start again and just pretend that nothing ever happened.

I Cant Pretend
Charles tobias / paul rusincky (w. edward breuder? )
I cant pretend
Im sorry were apart
I cant pretend
I just cant fool my heart
Though I make mine
My friends all seem to realize
Their smiles, that look in my eye
I cant pretend
I simply cant be gayer
For in the end
My tears give me away
Without you dear
I live a lie
I cant defend
I love you
And I cant pretend

A Challenge
Mediocrity is no option for those who
Are protectors. The providers, leaders,
Never have many truly understood
How it is that these folks are so good!
Oh, some pretend it's age that gets them there,
Or physical, or sexual, prowess.
Deceivers! The lot of them!
I've seen those who think money
Suits them better than a humble heart.
Many see arrogance as a characteristic, too
Often, others agree with this
Ridiculous statement. They are
Extremely. Wrong.

It is quite true, as some poets said, that the God who created man must have had a sinister sense of humor, creating him a reasonable being, yet forcing him to take this ridiculous posture, and driving him with blind craving for this ridiculous performance.

You're allowed to rip-off another score so close that it's ridiculous. In my opinion it's ridiculous, how closely one can just rip-off a score that happened a year or two earlier.

This is ridiculous, I mean, wholly ridiculous. It never did any child any harm to have something that was a tiny bit above them anyway, and I claim that anyone who can follow Doctor Who can follow absolutely anything.

So What Can a Monkey Do
It's just insidious...
Too ridiculous and hideous to me.
To find some are nonbelieving,
In the obviousness of reality.
And the questions asked,
Persist...
Pertaining to the 'way' things happen as they do.
Making little sense when the evidence points back...
Into the face of the accuser.
You know the kind?
The one who creates the crime,
But not admit it.
It's just insidious...
Too ridiculous and hideous to me.
And too emotionally sacrificial I've become.
With too much topping of self serviced depreciation.
Aggrevated by the act of too much devotion shown!
This...
It's just insidious!
It's too ridiculous and hideous to me.
Even to make known...
What is felt and seen has been condoned!
So what can a monkey do?
'Only what a monkey can do!
Be a monkey! '

It's A Fact
that those who pretend
to be asleep
are the hardest people to wake
and so i pretend too that i do not know that you are pretending.
in this way
we are even.
i pretend that i am wide awake
in the middle of my
resentful sleep.

Just Pretend
(words & music by flett - fletcher)
Just pretend, Im holding you
And whispering things soft and low
And think of me, how its gonna be,
Just pretend I didnt go
When I walked away, I heard you say
If you need me, you know what to do
I knew it then, Id be back again
Just pretend Im right there with you
And Ill come flying to you, oh yes
All the crying is true
Oh, I will hold you and love you again
But until then, well just pretend
Oh, its funny but I cant recall the things
We said or why youre crying
But now I know it was wrong to go
I belong here by your side

Know My Name
What kind of situation
Have I brought upon myself
Some kind of bad reaction
Blamed it all on someone else
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before
You got me laughing at me
Laughing all about myself
I had a drink last Friday
Heard the news from someone else
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before
You got me running
Running far from myself
You got me coming
Coming home to someone else
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before
Cause I ain't never seen you before
Don't pretend like you know my name
Cause I ain't never seen you before

Too Precious!
the only thing
i dont know how to do...
is to pretend it doesnt matter!
to pretend that i dont care!
life is too precious to pretend,
too valuable to waste...
every moment is a gift,
every second eternal!
live! be drunk with living!

nonsense is an 'Art
The 'Art' of the 'ridiculous' is to be somewhat meticulous
In chosing, 'certain words'
To capture the Absurd'
The artus riducularus
Is to find something hilarious,
Perhaps in a scattering on silly names
A certain gait a wibbly stutter
The art of the ridiculous
Lyes in being quite meticulous
In making nonsense ryhme
And every dirty star can shine
Though fallen from it's holy shrine
Still glimmers in the gutter

Ridiculous
Ridiculous?
I know.
But somehow that is less disturbing,
Than an abnormal existence...
You insist,
Governs a reality...
Assisted and uplifted by misfits believed.
And until my conscious adjusts to this...
Perception you embrace as one I should face.
I feel much safer remaining in a peace you describe,
As a ridiculous way to live my life!
Free of conflict sweetened with deceit.
And spiced by tasty lies I refuse to eat!

Ridiculous
Ridiculous
To tell the artist
What to sketch and what not
Ridiculous
To tell the poet
What to compose what not.
Only dictator can
Go against the artist
Only dictator can
Go against the poet
Dictator is the symbol of
Destroyer and aggressor.
