You can see a mote in another's eye, but cannot see a beam in your own.
Related quotes
Who sees a mote in other's eye will not see a beam in his own eye.
Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Cast the beam out of your own eye before you try to cast the mote from the eyes of your neighbour.
The sunshine of thine eyes
The sunshine of thine eyes,
(O still, celestial beam!)
Whatever it touches it fills
With the life of its lambent gleam.
The sunshine of thine eyes,
O let it fall on me!
Though I be but a mote of the air,
I could turn to gold for thee!

Marginal Note
A ray of light, to an oblique observer,
Remains invisible in pure dry air;
But shone into a turbid element
It throws distracting side-gleams everywhere
And is diminished by what takes the eye.
So poetry that moves by chance collision
Scatters its brightness at each random mote
And mars the lucid order of its vision.
The purest meditation will appear
Faint or invisible to those who glance
Obliquely at its unreflected beam;

My Dream
My Aim is my Dream
I always Dream about my Aim
And Dream and Dream about my aim
My Aim is not to dream, which comes and goes
But still, I Dream and Dream about my Aim
I Dream about my Aim to reach the Fame
To Reach Fame, I Dream about my Aim
To reach Fame, I should not only Aim, but I should climb the Beam
I Should Climb the Beam to have my Dream
When I acquire my Dream, I will acquire my Aim
Because my Dream is about my Aim
I have an Aim which will bring me the Fame
To have the Fame, I have to climb the Beam
To have the Fame, I wanted to climb the Beam
The Beam of Dedication, the Beam of Hard-work,
The beam of Difficulty and the Beam of Obstacles
When I want to have the Fame I have to climb the Beam
When I Climb the Beam, I will have my Fame.
And I Dream and Dream about my Aim
My Aim will always bring me Fame.
You too Dream about your aim
But your Aim should not become a Dream.

You Beam
You beam,
The brightest smile I've ever seen.
And you beam,
A glow I'd wish to come to know.
You beam,
The brightest smile I've ever seen.
Brighter than in my dreams.
You beam...
And I forget.
And you beam...
Every wish I've had,
To be with you.
You beam,
The brightest smile I've ever seen.
And you beam,
A glow I'd wish to come to know.
You beam,
The brightest smile I've ever seen.
Brighter than in my dreams.
You beam...
And I forget.
And you beam...
Every wish I've had,
To be with you.
And this,
I know...
No one else can have my heart,
But you!
This I know...
No one else can have my heart,
But you!
And this,
I know...
When you beam,
And I forget.
And you beam...
Every wish I've had,
To be with you.
Forever.
No one else can have my heart,
But you!
Forever.
This I know...
No one else can have my heart,
But you!
Forever.
And this is true.
You beam,
The brightest smile I've ever seen.
And you beam,
A glow I'd wish to come to know.
You beam,
The brightest smile I've ever seen.
Brighter than in my dreams.
No one else can have my heart,
But you!
This I know.
No one else can have my heart,
But you!
Forever.
And this is true.

I don't like being recognised, I have no interest in being famous at all, I just do what I do. If I could be like Captain Kirk and beam myself up and then beam myself down, I would!

Living In A World That Some Can Not Leave
Living high in a castle,
Without a mote.
Isn't easy to do...
When one searches the horizon,
For a delivery...
Of an awaited treasured boat.
And one who demands,
They can command steps quicker...
While jumping double dutch,
Without a visable rope.
Should be left alone...
If a commitment to doing this is shown.
Living in a castle and there is no mote...
And waiting for delivery of a big boat,
While jumping double dutch without a visable rope...
Some need!
People should be left to live lives they believe!
Living high in a castle,
Without a mote.
Isn't easy to do...
When one searches the horizon,
For a delivery...
Of an awaited treasured boat.
And one who demands,
They can command steps quicker...
While jumping double dutch,
Without a visable rope.

Star Trek (#2)
We search amongst the stars for life
Like moths forever seeking light
We cannot bear just being alone
Beam me! Beam me! Scottie! Home!
Now we can hear the moon from Mars
And Titan's vicious thunderstorms
I wonder if its best to be
Right here on earth and just being me.

In other persons' eye one can see a mote, in one's own - cannot see a log.
Radiant Beam
Dear Radiant Beam...
From the Cosmic Heavens come.
You shine upon the Earth Your presence.
And to the life You have given me.
To everyone experiencing...
This 'wonderment' allowed.
Although our minds are shrouded,
With storm clouds hiding...
The true significance,
Of what and who You are!
Dear Radiant Beam...
Any transgressions I commit against Your wish.
Forgive my ignorance, Father Sun.
Knowing I am grateful for all Your gifts.
And all that You are I know here that 'Is'!
With the Sunlight you provide...
That tolerates my thoughtlessness.
Teased by the foolishness of my unconsciousness.
Forgive my ignorance, Father Sun.
Radiant Beam...
You are that only One,
Knowing I am grateful for all Your gifts.
And all that You are I know here that 'Is'!

Have You Ever
To get up and walk away
Will be too easy
So stay and stand your ground
Just watch your mouth with me
On the back of every right
Theres a wrong looming
So here you and i
Should tread as soft
As these razorblades
For boots will it be
Have you ever tried
To step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried
To balance that beam?
And if you ever try
To fit in my shoes
Theyll never be quite
As soft as they seem
Unabashed honesty
Would be ideal
But a prophet did once say
That honestys our only word
So where do we go from here?
Abandon ship now
My problem is you made me melt
And I dont want
To be frozen anymore
Have you ever tried
To step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried
To balance that beam?
And if you ever try
To fit in my shoes
Theyll never be quite
As soft as they seem
Ooh ooh no oh no
Have you ever
Have you ever tried to
I have never
I have never tried to
Have you ever tried
To step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried
To balance that beam?
And if you ever try
To fit in my shoes
Theyll never be quite
As soft as they seem

Prune not the child.
A plant has been pruned, the gardener beamed.
A plant has been left as such, the plant beamed.
Water the child to beam; prune it not to beam.

Hope
SEE through yon cloud that rolls in wrath,
One little star benignant peep,
To light along their trackless path
The wanderers of the stormy deep.
And thus, oh Hope! thy lovely form
In sorrow's gloomy night shall be
The sun that looks through cloud and storm
Upon a dark and moonless sea.
When heaven is all serene and fair,
Full many a brighter gem we meet;
'Tis when the tempest hovers there,
Thy beam is most divinely sweet.
The rainbow, when the sun declines,
Like faithless friend will disappear;
Thy light, dear star! more brightly shines
When all is wail and weeping here.
And though Aurora's stealing beam
May wake a morning of delight,
'Tis only thy consoling beam
Will smile amid affliction's night.

Sun of the Sleepless!
Sun of the sleepless! melancholy star!
Whose tearful beam glows tremulously far,
That show'st the darkness thou canst not dispel,
How like art thou to joy remember'd well!
So gleams the past, the light of other days,
Which shines, but warms not with its powerless rays;
A night-beam Sorrow watcheth to behold,
Distinct but distant -- clear -- but, oh how cold!
An ode to snow (and a speck of dust)
Began it’s life a speck of dust
One of billions
Bourne upon the air
Transformed as all things must
Be… that blossom both…
Mundane and rare
A tiny mote imbued of moisture
absorbed within… and
Without a care
Tossed willy-niilly by caprice of wind
The mote of dust
Begins to dare
To attract electrons into it’s grasp
With static gasp
And electric glare
Then starts it’s dizzy descent
Joined by another
Commingling to form a pair
More moisture still… gathered as they went
Gaining weight and boon companions
In the gelid air
Now in numbers beyond count and scale
Strange, beautiful crystals form on speck of dust
Bourne upon the air
And softly falls like gentle comets would
In feathery flakes of cosmic dust
Like pious whispers of Lama’s prayer
A simple speck of dust
One would never think
could make
The incomprehensible
The unbelievably beautiful
Exquisitely unique
…Snowflake…

Transatlantic
3000 miles across the sea, are you waiting there for me
Im stuck here in this state, so I must communicate
Dont know just where you are, just know that youre too far
Theres only one thing I can do
Chorus:
Gonna send my love to you (transatlantic)
Beam my message through
Gonna find your frequency (transatlantic)
Send it e.s.p.
Thru the static in the air, I will transmit that I care
Do you read me loud and clear, yes thats my heartbeat that you hear
No phone no radio, the telegrams too slow
Im going crazy without you
Gonna send my love to you (transatlantic)
Beam my message through
Gonna find your frequency (transatlantic)
Send it e.s.p.
S.o.s, in distress
Close my eyes for your reply
Do you read me
Will you reach me
Transistor tube and microchip
Wont bring me closer to your lips
Send a kiss out through the night
Like a laser beam of light
No underwater train, no supersonic rain
Is fast enough to get to you
Gonna send my love to you (transatlantic)
Beam my message through
Gonna find your frequency (transatlantic)
Will you
Will you read me
Send my love (transatlantic)
I wanna know
Do you read me...
