Who Buys My Thought?

Who buys my thought buys not a bottle of honey
But strands of a hopeless future bottled up.

A future that is threatened
By mortal diseases threatened
The future of the African child.

Of eyes that look out and see an endangered tomorrow threatening an already imagined better future.

Who buys my thought buys not a haven of peace and bliss
But of battling thoughts.

Thoughts of what the future would be
The tomorrow of the African child.

Who buys my thought buys a strenous desire for a better tomorrow
A better tomorrow for the African child
Who buys my thought?

Hollywood

Orange and yellow and purple and green
The lights of the city at night set the scene
Stumble through the bars of forget-me-not lane
Sparkle through the glitter but dont show the pain
In hollywood
Underneath a golden palm tree
Hollywood
Come to the party the drinks are on me
For free
Heartbeats echo through a cavern of love
Come to the tavern Ill meet you up above
Soaring through the heavens, what a fabulous ride
But everybodys heading for the same place to hide
In hollywood
Underneath a golden palm tree
Hollywood
Come to the party the drinks are on me
For free
The drinks on me
For free
The drinks on me
For free
The drinks on me
The drinks on me
The drinks on me
The drinks on me

Day and Night

DAY goeth bold in cloth of gold,
A royal bridegroom he;
But Night in jewelled purple walks—
A Queen of Mystery.
Day filleth up his loving-cup
With vintage golden-clear;
But Night her ebon chalice crowns
With wine as pale as Fear.

Day drinks to Life, to ruddy Life,
And holds a kingly feast.
Night drinks to Death; and while she drinks—
Day rises in the East!

They may not meet; they may not greet;
Each keeps a separate way:
Day knoweth not the stars of Night,
Nor Night the Star of Day.

So runs the reign of Other Twain.
Behold! the Preacher saith
Death knoweth not the Light of Life,
Nor Life the Light of Death!

Death Takes The Piss

Death goes on the piss
(he's already had a few too many) .
Death goes on the tear
(looking the worse for wear) .

Death belche4s: 'The drinks...
...are on me! '
Death only wants a little company.

But, when last orders are odered
...nobody's there!
Death drinks alone
...then goes home.

Death thinks: 'It's a dirty job but...
... someone's gotta do it! '
'I just wish it wasn't me! '

Then goes on living -
- so that others may die.
Then with a bursting bladder...

Death takes a pee
(still muttering drunkenly)
'I just wish it wasn't me...
...I just wish it wasn't me! '

Nobody Drinks Alone

You brought that bottle home in a paper sack
Drew the blinds and locked the doors
And there's nothing but empty there inside that glass
So you pour a little more
And there's no one there to judge you
At least that's what you tell yourself, but
Chorus:
Don't you know
Nobody drinks alone
Every demon, every ghost
From your past
And every memory you've held back
Follows you home
Nobody drinks alone
You remember whiskey on your daddy's breath
So you always stick to wine
And you scared your little brother half to death
You just kept it all inside
You can hear your mama cryin'
Only now she cries for you, and
Don't you know
Nobody drinks alone
Every demon, every ghost
From your past
And every memory you've held back
Follows you home
Nobody drinks alone
Though you're only
Hey don't you let that feelin' fool ya
(REPEATH CHORUS)
Nobody drinks alone

Something about the women in the genealogical register of Jesus Christ

(after P.W. Buys)

Right next to the Timna road she is in a veil
where small Tamar alluring waits on Juda,
Salmon could not refuse the slut Rahab
when she sneaked to him in the dark night.
Boas was well-off and a big flatterer
when for days he secretly watched Ruth.
I can have contempt on these women as a leader
and still I wonder how He regards me with esteem?

Little Man Syndrome

He is though a very short man
To the world he must always prove himself
Tired of woman laughing when he walks by
And hates it when children calls him an elf.
When other man talks he always shouts
When other men walks he has to run
As though his disease his known to himself
As what he has is the little man syndrome.
So he goes out and buys himself a bike
And then buys a pair of high heel boots
He wants people to think he is truly a man
He even sometimes wears a small boys suit.
He has a short temper as he is a short man
Some times he tries to tell others want to do
But he gets ignored which is quite common
To the world his existence he must always prove.
He drinks and smokes to make himself feel tall
Must lie and steal at what other men do own
Always has seconds to what other other men had first
In the world of man he is always alone.
When he walks he must walk on his toes
Sadly he is shorter than all man and all child
And when he's with a woman she hunches her back
So she can help him feel tall every once in a while.
When others get taller he grows not at all
He is the same size as when he was a child
So the very little man has little small hands
And everything or one he touches he will defile.
He thinks he is tough but that is an act
As he cowers to everyone that he will meet
He will run and hide and cant fight his own fight
As a man he isn't he cant stand on his own two feet.
When he take his picture he stands on a chair
While all others will sit as he must always stand
But no matter what he does or what he wears
Everyone know the syndrome of the little man.

Anacreontics, Drinking

THE thirsty earth soaks up the rain,
And drinks and gapes for drink again;
The plants suck in the earth, and are
With constant drinking fresh and fair;
The sea itself (which one would think
Should have but little need of drink)
Drinks twice ten thousand rivers up,
So fill'd that they o'erflow the cup.
The busy Sun (and one would guess
By 's drunken fiery face no less)
Drinks up the sea, and when he 's done,
The Moon and Stars drink up the Sun:
They drink and dance by their own light,
They drink and revel all the night:
Nothing in Nature 's sober found,
But an eternal health goes round.
Fill up the bowl, then, fill it high,
Fill all the glasses there--for why
Should every creature drink but I?
Why, man of morals, tell me why?

My Cup Of Drinks

My cup of drinks will,
never be filled.
The drinks of nature,
in my eyes, get reeled.
I drank the beauty of
the hill, streams, rivulet,
All other beauties,
before them ever fade.
The rivers dance as,
the little lass in me,
the trees, the plants,
the meadows and lea,
captivate me with their,
never-forget-smile,
The seas, oceans and the
mountains beguile,
their time, with me,
in my mind's little room.
Borrowing a brush and color,
I like them to groom.
My cups of drinks I
want to fill with thee.
O Nature! I know other
beauty can not satisfy me!

Where There's Smoke, There's Failure

So it goes like this,
Guy meets girl.
Guy buys flowers.
Girl puts them in a vase.
Guy buys a ring.
Girl says yes.
Guy goes to work.
Girl goes to work.
Guy meets girl.
Girl meets guy.
Guy and girl fight about girl and guy.
Guy leaves work for new work and gets an apartment by himself.
Girl moves over seas and doesn't have to work any more because she has a new guy and the old guy has to send her money from his new work.

Guy writes poems.
Guy writes about new girl and old girl and new guy and work and old friends.
Guy wants to stop working and sell poems about the stuff in his life so that he can do other stuff in his life without having to go to real work.
Guy does not yet have high selling collection of poems.
Guy goes to work.
Guy meets girl.
Guy buys flowers.

Boat Drinks

Boat drinks
By: jimmy buffett
1979
Boat drinks
Boys in the band ordered boat drinks
Visitors scored on the home rink
Everything seems to be wrong
Lately, newspaper mentioned cheap air fare
I gotta to fly to saint somewhere
Im close to bodily harm
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on
Nobody cares they are way too far gone
Screamin boat drinks, something to keep em all warm
This mornin, I shot six holes in my freezer
I think I got cabin fever
Somebody sound the alarm
Id like to go where the pace of lifes slow
Could you beam me somewhere mr. scott?
Any ol place here on earth or in space
You pick the century and Ill pick the spot
Oh I know, (I know)
I should be leaving this climate
I got a verse but cant rhyme it
I gotta go where its warm
Boat drinks
Waitress I need two more boat drinks
Then Im headin south fore my dream shrinks
I gotta go where its warm (I gotta go where its warm)
I gotta go where its warm (I gotta go where its warm)
I gotta go where its warm!
I gotta go where there aint any snow
Where there aint any blow
cause my fin sinks so low
I gotta go where its warm

Runaway

If you Runaway you will miss you'r family in lot's of
ways and you could die in a couple of days.
You wan't have any money for food or drinks and you
will get cold and wet.
You wan't get any new stuff or have any fun.
You will find you're self-looking in the bins for food and drinks.
You will become a tramp.
So don't run away from home.
