My Tribute To Bacon (Bacon the food)

Why does almost everyone like smoky bacon?
It tastes too good be not mistaken, the best thing to eat is great bacon.
They say even vegans like to eat bacon.
Have you heard they've even got chocolate covered bacon!
There is a donut with maple and bacon.
So, ode to pigs who give us great bacon.
And hooray to all who love great smoky bacon.

Bring Home The Bacon

To my country
I promised
to bring home
the bacon.

And yes, I did
I did bring home
the bacon.

But to my surprise
the bacon vanished
so instantly.

Oh, my beloved country
forgive this unworthy
child of yours
I wasn't able
to bring home
sufficient bacon
for all your children.

Auntie's Mutt

Auntie’d cut off
the bacon rind

and throw it
for the dog

and you’d grab it
and run down

the stairs with it
and the dog’d

run down after you
and the bacon rind

yapping at your heels
and you’d hold

the bacon rind up
and the mutt’d jump up

at it and you’d move it
higher and higher

and the mutt’d jump
higher and higher

until at last
he’d grab the bacon rind

between his teeth
and pull it

from your fingers
and run off

with his prize
and you’d stand there

clapping your hands
ready for the next

thrown out
bacon rind

from Auntie’s hand
up on the balcony.

Epigram at Brownhill Inn

And plenty of bacon each day in the year;
We've a' thing that's nice, and mostly in season,
But why always Bacon-come, tell me a reason?

I think that was very important to Bacon... personally. I think he went to great efforts to get a house for the Stratford man, to make it so difficult for us to prove that it was Francis Bacon, because it is very difficult to prove.

Dont Quote Me On That

Its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slice.
Did you see the one, yeah yeah,
The one they wrote in the paper just the other day,
Well, well would you believe it,
Well what I said, they took it all the wrong way.
Now youve gotta be careful, bout what you say,
Cos theyve got a bad habit
Were you reading in between the lines?
Or is that what I said? , now I just cant remember
They seem to have a very good memory though
But as far as Im concerned, as as far as Im concerned
You don;t have to be black white, chinese or anything really
Just enjoy, shut up, listen and dance...
Its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that, dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that, please dont quote me
Dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that
Hey hey, you know something, I said I liked that guy,
But thats not what I read in the paper
I dont have anything against them,
Its just eggs bacon and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that please dont quote me
Dont quoe me on that
Dont quote me on that.
You know, now we get worried about what we say
We shouldnt be that way
You know, I dont care who comes,
Cos as far as Im concerned,
Its, eggs bacon beans and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that
Dontr quote me on that
Please dont quote me
Mama mama, you know Im still friends with mickey
They say I shouldnt like him anymore, because Im all white,
Well hes allright by me
Dont quote me on that
Please dont quote me
Dont quote me on that
Dont quote me on that
Now what I do, I bring all my old friends along to see the show
And if you have the wrong ideas well,
Its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slice
Dont quote me on that oh no
(dont quote me on that)
Please dont quote me
(dont quote me on that)
I never said that
(dont quote me on that)
Thats not what I meant
(dont quote me on that)
Well I suppose you could take it that way
(dont quote me on that)
But thats not what I meant to say
(dont quote me on that)
Wont you give me another chance
(dont quote me on that)
Please please
Dont quote me on that....
Id like to say thank you to pete, peter tosh
And all the other people who come and they believe in us for the fun and the music
Cos all Ive got to say to you press now is
Its all bacon beans and a fried slice
Eggs bacon beans and a fried slive
Go to maggies caff
132 liverpool road
Just down the road, just round the corner
Only theres not much corner
Its just chairs and tables and theyve even got a space invaders machine...
A cup of tea, thats fine for me,
Cos its all eggs bacon beans and a fried slive
Are you sure you turned that tape recorder off?
Are you sure? ,
Are you sure?

Auntie and Mutt.

Auntie cut the rind
off the bacon
and offered it
to the dog

but before the dog
could put his lips to it
you made off with it
down the cast iron stairs

beside the barrack block
and the dog followed you
barking as it did so
and once you reached the ground

you went off
onto the grass
and the dog
chased you

and jumped up at you
trying to reach
the bacon rind
you held between fingers

and Auntie called over
the metal rail
let the mutt have it
don't tease him

and so you bit
the rind in half
and gave the mutt one half
and ate the other yourself

but sometimes after Auntie
put the bacon rind
in the dog's bowl
you picked it up

and tossed it
over the balcony rail
onto the ground below
and the dog raced down

the stairs after it
but now and then
you pretended
to toss it over

and after the dog
raced off
you would hold it
over the side of the rail

and called to the mutt
and said
I still got it mutt
and the dog raced back

up the stairs
and you sat there
on the metal landing
and the dog came

and licked and nuzzled you
and you gave the dog
the bacon rind
and he licked you

and wagged its tail
and Auntie called out
what are you up to?
what are you doing now?

Inner Peace And The Sound Of The Electric Saw

from where i am seated
beyond the fence of this old ground
they that do not mind the murder of peace
keeps on sawing what wood is left for the hands of this world to feel.

the roots cannot grow by themselves
when all the leaves fall when all the branches are cut
this greed for furniture this amassing of rails and stairs and door jams.

i am seated on a piece of ground without grass.
this is what is left of me in the middle of my quest for peace amidst this chaos.

Awesome Sound

[studio version appears on "the pod"]
Stop it!
I got an awesome sound goin' down [3x]
I got a pork roll egg cheese and bacon
Stop...right...there...
What?
I - i - i got an awesome sound -
I got an awesome sound (biyatch!) goin' down [2x]
I got a pork roll egg cheese and bacon
What you got, buddy?
Shit!
Hit me again!
Awesome sound goin' down
I got an awesome sound goin' down [2x]
I got a pork roll egg cheese and bacon
Goin' down
Goin' down
Go, man, go!
So funky, ohh! ohhh! ohh! ohhh!
Deaner, don't hurt 'em, man!!!
Ohhh! ohhh! ohhh!
Goin' down! goin' down!
Got an awesome sound, goin' down [3x]
I got a pork roll egg cheese and bacon

The Argument

Said Jock McBrown to Tam McSmith,
"A little bet I'm game to take on,
That I can scotch this Shakespeare myth
And prove Will just a stoodge for Bacon."

Said Tam McSmith to Jock McBrown,
"Ye gyke, I canna let ye rave on.
See here, I put a shilling down:
My betting's on the Bard of Avon."

Said Jock McBrown to Tam McSmith,
"Come on, ye'll pay a braw wee dramlet;
Bacon's my bet - the proof herewith . . .
He called his greatest hero - HAMlet."

Moon Poetess.

hands flicker, the smokes hurries
And insignia like ice blows in appearance
So seated and commanding twisting joints.
Powers, so she use and sleep.

Cross like lights, like crowns.
And in moon, she exploit simile.
pair of simile, like smile.
married to a poet of the sun.

Seated in a throne, scrutinizing expected writer.
o' poet your tones are failing
Your flood is quited.
Take not my gown for a clown.

In this moon there is peace.
And my ink is agreeable to a moon cave.
And the election has ended.
Yet you are the poet.

No truth is bad as a poetess been a poet.
Posted to bright stool.
and good stew.

O Brave and Faithful Dream

The day began
with the temperature
plummeting
closing in on zero
wondered if I should wear
a coat
decided to put one on
not wanting
to be a show off
told everyone at Spinoza high school
my mother bore me
on the steppes of Siberia
wasn’t true
but felt
it should have been true
I loved the cold so much
well,
we all had our little
dream.
Later that day
I pranced into The Teacher’s Center
ecstatic
below zero
soon to happen.
Just then Herman Hammer trudged in
saying,
“If I didn’t have bad luck
I wouldn’t have no luck at all.”
Couldn’t understand the man
a little while ago Bob Bacon
gave Hammer
two one hundred dollar bills.
“What’s going on? ” I asked.
“Blew it, Bernstein,
just lost Bacon’s two hundred
plus eight hundred more.”
“Weren’t you in class? ”
“It don’t take long
to make a phone call.”
“After all Bacon said
wha’d you bet on? ”
“A soccer game in Paraguay.”
“What? ”
“I follow every sport
in every country
on the face of the Earth.”
“Are you insane? ”
“Just wanna be rich—
my dream
quickest way
win a bundle
with a bet.”
“But you owe fortunes! ”
Suddenly a blast of wind
rattled windows
as frigid air
seeped into the room
and I smiled.
Herman Hammer stared at me
tears welling into his eyes
then streaming down his cheeks
finally dripping from his chin
well,
my heart ain’t made of stone
so I slipped him a ten
which he quickly took
whispering,
“There’s a Chess game
in India
which I know for a fact
is fixed
sure thing
and a twenty
could turn into two hundred
so Bacon
won’t be on my case.”
Another mighty gust
slammed Brooklyn
so I presented
Herman Hammer
the dream ticket
twenty
not asking
how he came by
such important information.

Deeply Seated

Suicide?

Self harm?

Bleeding a trauma

Distorted vision
From a pain,

of

Deeply seated blame
Sitting on my shoulder,

A whore house persona

Suicide?

Self harm?

Bleeding a trauma,
Which forever sits upon my shoulder?

Distorted vision
From a pain

of

Deeply seated blame
