Leave it til tomorrow to unpack my case, honey disconnect the phone

Back in us, back in the us, back in the ussr
Well, the ukraine girls really knock me out, they leave the west behind
And moscow girls make me sing and shout

And moscow girls make me sing and shout

He Was Born In Ussr

He was born in USSR
At the hospital there
At 5: 30 am
And that was the time that his mother gave birth to him
But I remember that she said that giving birth was very hard
And I can say to that
Thanks God that men don't give birth
Because I don't think they would want to go through with it
Knowing that there is pain in giving birth to a baby
But when he was 13 he moved from USSR to United States
So that he could get a god education
And a good job in his life

How sad Trotsky's last words?

Lev Davidowich Bronstein.
(He assumed the name Leon Trotsky in 1902)
The exiled Bolshevik leader
Who was settled in Mexico in 1936.
On 20, August 1940 an assasin called Franck Johnson
A French Jew, acting on Stalin's orders
Stabbed Trotsky with an Ice Pick,
Fatally wounded in him
And he died the following day in Coyoacan.
His skull fractured with pickaxe.
How sad Trotsky's last words;
'I think Stalin has finished the job he started.'

*In 1926 they expelled him from the Politiburo; And in 1928 Stalin exiled him to Central Asia and 1929 expelled him from the USSR.
The play depicts the death of Leon Trotsky in varying ways.End of the play; Ramon Mercader, the Spanish Assasin who smashed, not buried, the axe into Trotsky's skull.

Dancing In The Street

Ok, talk to you
South america, australia, france, germany, uk, africa
Calling out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat
Summers here and the time is right
For dancing in the streets
Theyre dancing in chicago
Down in new orleans
In new york city
All we need is music, sweet music
Therell be music everywhere
Theyll be swinging, swaying, records playing,
Dancing in the street, oh
It doesnt matter what you wear, just as long as you are there
So come on, every guy, grab a girl, everywhere, around the world
Theyll be dancing, dancing in the street
Its an invitation across the nation, a chance for folks to meet
Theyll be laughing and singing, music swinging
Dancing in the street
Philadelphia, pa
Baltimore in dc now
Dont forget the motor city
On the streets of brazil
Back in the ussr
No matter where you are
All we need is music, sweet music
Therell be music everywhere
Theyll be swinging, swaying, records playing
Dancing in the street, oh
It doesnt matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on every guy, grab a girl, everywhere, around the world
Theyll be dancing, dancing in the streets
Way down in l.a., everyday
Dancing in the streets
Cross in china too
Me and you
Dancing in the street
Dont you know
Theyll be dancing
Dancing in the street (repeat)

So... it wasn't a date.

It was a date.
At some unearthly hour
When all was dead and still,
I snuck out to meet you.
[I absolutely insist that
9.30 in the morning is an unearthly hour
During the school holidays when
My siblings aren’t even awake then.
So there.]

We met at a small quiet room
Which the administration had
Most romantically and appropriately titled:
“The Study Room”,
In a desolate, deserted community centre where
We sat with our knees occasionally bumping into each other's
Whispering sweet nothings to each other.

You coyly, tenderly murmured into my ear that
The integration of the equation: 1 / [ x(x+1) ]
Was equivalent to: ln |x| - ln |x+1| + c,
'Where c, '
You breathe almost huskily,
'Is an arbitrary constant.'

In return, I gently, sweetly, responded that
the Special Economic Zones that Deng Xiao Ping implemented
Allowed for the liberalization of the Chinese economy in a
Controlled and organized manner,
'Thus, '
I lower my voice and lean in closer so I can breathe in your scent
'Bypassing the mistakes that Gorbachev had made,
When he was trying the same with the USSR.'

All day we sat there,
Pens every so often knocking into the other's.
It was just
You and Me
(and the Textbooks.)

That night, as I walked you home,
We giggled and gossiped about
Frivolous issues such as
The Affairs of Monopoly and Oligopoly and
Their scandalous engagement in Third-Degree Price Discrimination
By cruelly segmenting the pitiful, victimized Consumer Market and
Evilly plotting out schemes to 'Prevent the Resale of the Good'.
And when we parted that night,
I was thinking that
You were more beautiful
Than the Trigonal Bipyramidal structure of
My favourite molecule: the Sulphur Tetrafluoride

Alright, so it wasn't a date.
We didn't kiss or hold hands
Like they do in chic flicks
Or watch movies and star-gaze
Like they do in romance novels.

So, it wasn't a date.
But hey,
I would rather spend my entire life
Repeating this date which was not a date
Than truly go on a date
With anybody else but you.

And let the oil flow cheaply!

Heads of state or government of 25 nations met in Belgrade, capital of Yugoslavia at the first Summit of Non-Aligned Nations on 1st September 1961. Sri Lanka was a founder of the Non-Aligned Movement which consisted mainly of developing countries that preferred to stay away from any power blocks. These nations were not aligned to any superpower – either USA (America) or USSR (Russia) .Sri Lanka’s newly elected Prime Minister, Sirimavo Bandaranaike attended the inaugural Summit, stepping on to the world stage as the world’s first woman Prime Minister. She attended the second Summit held in Cairo in 1964 and in 1976 hosted the fifth Summit in Colombo. Thereafter Sri Lanka occupied the chair for three years. The origin of the movement dates back to 1954, when the Prime Minister of India, Shri Jawaharlal Nehru had coined the term “non-alignment” during his speech at the Asian Prime Ministers Conference in Colombo. In this speech, Nehru described the five pillars to be used as a guide for Sino-Indian relations. Called ‘Panchaseela’ (five restraints) , these principles would later serve as the basis of the Non-Aligned Movement. The five principles were: Mutual respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereigntyMutual non-aggression
Mutual non-interference in domestic affairsEquality and mutual benefit
Peaceful co-existence

I hear a sad Bedouin song of an aging Dictator
Who sung with his deep voice for a long period!
Yes, let others to sing and get rid of the power.
Bring the lute and leave the wealth.
Like your younger days remember
You touched the Sri Lankan soil once
As Omar Mukthar the Hero!
At the 5th Non-Alignment Summit, Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1976.
We're old now and leave aside the burden
Watch how they sing with the different pitch?
Companion Camel too old now
And no more desert crossing
Stop at an Oasis!
Take the lute out and sing the oldest song;
'Where we've come from
And where do we go? '
And let the oil flow cheaply!

The White Rose of Stalingrad

Her nickname was Lilya.
In the Great Patriotic War
When Hitler’s armies invaded the Soviet Union
She became a Soviet air ace,
Known as the “White Rose of Stalingrad”.

Lydia Litvak was born
Into a Moscow Jewish family.
In 1935, at the age of 14, she joined a flight club
And a year later she had her first solo flight.
When the Germans attacked Russia,
Lilya joined the Soviet Air Force.

In the summer of 1942 she was assigned
To the 437th Combat Regiment
Fighting over the skies of Stalingrad.
At first the men were reluctant
To take her seriously
But soon it became evident
That she was an excellent pilot.

Lilya was a pensive and beautiful young woman
Who got into trouble because of deviating from
The prescribed dress code of the Soviet Air Force.
Once she cut off the fur lined trim of her boots,
Producing from it a fur collar for her flight suit.
She was jailed for the offense.

Nevertheless, her desire for expressing
Her feminine individuality was irrepressible
And she continued to design
Her own military outfit.
Among other things she bleached her hair.
Military regulations permitted this.

And then she took pieces of parachute silk,
Sewed them together,
Painted them in different colors
And wrapping them around her neck
She created her own air combat fashion.

Lilya flew a Yak-1 fighter plane,
Which she embellished in painting white roses
On its sides. She made her first kills
Of enemy planes on September 13,1942,
Shooting down two Luftwaffe aircrafts,
A Ju-88 and a Bf 109 G-2.

The German flyer of the downed Bf 109
Was Erwin Maier, a decorated combat pilot.
He bailed out and parachuted
In Soviet-held territory. He asked his captors
To see the Russian ace that shot him down.

When the Soviets brought in Lilya,
Maier thought first that they made him the butt
Of a Bolshevik joke. But after Lilya showed him
Her flight maneuvers in the dogfight,
The German pilot’s disbelief turned
To surprised admiration.

Once, during a mission, Lilya was wounded
And she belly-landed in fascist-held territory.
German soldiers were rushing from every direction
On the field to catch her. She could see them
Running towards her with their weapons in hand.

Yet before they could take Lilya captive,
A Soviet aircraft appeared from the clouds
And landed next to her. Its pilot helped her climb
Onto his plane and took off as fast as he could
Under intense enemy fire.

On another occasion, in the course of air combat
Lilya was wounded in her leg but kept engaging
The Nazi aircrafts. She had whirled between
The enemy planes painted with black crosses
On their fuselage and the underside of their wings,
The swastika insignia hectoring on their tails.

She fired at the enemy aircrafts
With high explosive ammunition
From her 20 mm cannon
And 12.7 mm heavy machine gun
And at the end she managed to bring back
Her Yak-1 to base.

Lilya’s daring exploits included the destruction
Of a German observation balloon,
Which the Wehrmacht used
For artillery targeting against Red Army positions.

The hydrogen-filled balloon was protected
By an alignment of anti-aircraft guns that created
A deadly fire wall. The balloon flew high and far,
Out of the range of the Soviet artillery
And no Red Air Force pilot succeeded
To shoot it down.

Lilya volunteered to do the seemingly impossible.
First her commanders did not endorse the sortie
Because they regarded it as a suicide mission.

But Lilya devised a plan
Of approaching the balloon
From an unexpected direction, flying over
Enemy-held territory.
She succeeded to shoot it down.

August 1,1943, was another exhausting
And bloody day of the war.
Lilya already completed three sorties
But was sent again to take off with her squadron
And escort a formation of Ilyushin II-2 planes.

As the Soviets were returning from their mission,
two German Bf-109 fighters dived on Lydia’s Yak-1.
Her plane was hit. Smoke began to pour
From its fuselage.

The German pilots recognized the white roses
Painted on the aircraft and now as many as eight
Messerschmitt Bf-109 fighter planes joined
In pursuing the damaged Yak-1 plane
Of the Soviet ace.

She could not bail out.
Her plane crashed but did not explode.
Lilya was killed of a head wound.
She was twenty one years old.

Lilya shot down 12 enemy air planes in the war
And was the top scoring female fighter pilot
Of the Red Air Force. She and her close friend,
Katya Budanova, were the only two female aces
Of the Second World War.

In 1990 USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev
Posthumously awarded Lydia Litvak
The gold medal of the Hero of the Soviet Union.

Five ballades with a prologue

(after W.E.G. Louw)

Prologue: The child of God

From the creation,
long before the time of Plato and Aristotle
the word of God was the child’s criterion
while he ruled over everything.

When darkness rose right across the earth
others came in rebellion
wanted to show the God of creation
that they do not regard Him
and did not want to believe him

that destruction will follow upon their deeds,
that rain will fall in a terrible flood
that flooding will come as a result
from the hand of the God of the universe.

The child constructed a ship
went into its shelter with his wife,
children and animals
believing that the hand of the Almighty God
was sheltering
while the others in destruction
begged and cried for mercy.

The child walked through the palace of Pharaoh
could not convert his mother Hatshepsut
to the Almighty God,
saw whips lashing on the backs of his brothers
wanted to stop the lashing
on of one of them.

Right through the sea the child led his people
with crushing water closing on Pharaoh’s army,
right through the desert
his eyes were set on the Promised Land
while he trusted God.

When God Himself came to this earth,
taught people about love,
the child followed Him,
he baptised people and converted them

until on a Friday
on which the curtain ripped right through,
with God innocently hanging on a cross
while evil people mocked, cursed
and scolded Him in arbitrariness
when He was paying for the destiny of man,
was triumphant against the snake.

Peter, Paul, Thomas, John and other apostles
witnessed about Jesus,
went to the Jews and the wide world,
talking with crowds of strange people
about the life of Jesus,
standing before kings and princes

and some of them were persecuted,
tortured and mocked
and other children of God
were thrown to lions in arenas,
for some death was their destiny
and the soldiers of Rome
was deployed against them.

Still the child of God spread
the testimony of Jesus
to bring others to salvation,
to reconcile them with God
just where he could, he canvassed people
going through the world
as the champion of God

until the dark time of the Middle Ages came,
with the church and state being one
and it was persecuting him
and still the light of God was in him
while soldiers of Papal Rome was pursuing him

and the child did escape to the new world,
flowered there
settling in America
and on the Southern tip of Africa
and he lived as if in the hand of God
with the blessing coming from Him.

I. Another gospel: Communism

Deceitful, cruel and focused on himself
man doomed millions to their death,
believing that the perfect man
in due time would by evolution
come into existence.

While the end justified the means,
nobody was safe against its onslaught.

The false doctrine
wanted to strip those that have,
of their possessions
with the goal of giving everything to everybody,
but some got everything and others nothing.

While the end justified the means,
nobody was safe against its onslaught.

Armed forces, revolution and terrorism
spread almost right across the world,
nuclear weapons were set against each other
to try and bind man at all costs to the state.

While the end justified the means,
nobody was safe against its onslaught.

In Hungary people wanted to be free
and died for freedom,
until the Berlin wall fell
and things started to change in the USSR.

While the end justified the means,
nobody was safe against its onslaught.

But in China, Cuba and on other places
the fortress still stands strong
where the state controls everything
even what you believe, how you live your life.

While the end justified the means
nobody is safe against its onslaught.

II. Quick treachery

In the dark there were being tinkered
while lies were being told to the whole wide world
while in Washington, Peking, Moscow,
London and even Tel Aviv
deliberations were done secretly.

Who is earning dollars,
while bombs are falling like rain,
with guns that are shooting almost endlessly?

In the dark plans were being hatched
and in Afghanistan and Iraq allegedly
soldiers were looking for weapons of mass destruction
while seizing oil reserves.

Who is earning dollars,
while bombs are falling like rain,
with guns that are shooting almost endlessly?

Innocent men, women and children were killed
and foreign soldiers invaded their country
to allegedly bring peace
and treasures were seized.

Who is earning dollars,
while bombs are falling like rain,
with guns that are shooting almost endlessly?

III. Focus on the common man

It is said that every game
have got two sides
and so the bones of fortune
or the dice is thrown
where one wins and the other looses.

In this way people live while they deceive each other,
have relationships with each other’s wives
and tell lies and more lies.

Envious they look at each other’s property,
are competing for a job, to make a living
while people tread on one another
walking into the gambling house, the whorehouse.

In this way people live while they deceive each other,
have relationships with each other’s wives
and tell lies and more lies.

The fellow man that you have got to help,
is starving on the street, is despised
while he looses his wife, his children, his car and job
and everyone is only focusing on the self.

In this way people live while they deceive each other,
have relationships with each other’s wives
and tell lies and more lies.

IV. Another new gospel: Theosophy

That occultism is the new in thing,
slowly but surely
is usurping Christianity as part of it,
anyone will hardly believe.

That man is a god, part of God and again reincarnates,
is becoming slowly but surely a new confession.

Jesus Christ is expelled as creator,
sacrifice of atonement, God
and saviour and another God
is written into His name,
the creator is doomed as Satan
and the snake is exalted
as the eternal light bearer.

That man is a god, part of God and again reincarnates,
is becoming slowly but surely a new confession.

Call it new age teachings, Gnosticism, Cabalism
the teachings of Alice A. Bailey (channeling Djwal Khul) ,
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Annie Besant
with human rights as a basis,
is supplanting the commandments of God.

That man is a god, part of God and again reincarnates,
is becoming slowly but surely a new confession.

Even in some protestant churches
séances are being held
and spiritualism is sneaking in slowly but surely
where man is looking for signs and wonders.

That man is a god, part of God and again reincarnates,
is becoming slowly but surely a new confession.

People are seen as complex, with a lower and higher nature
where the mind, spirit and soul is polluted by the body,
is cleansed when it returns to the divine
and purification takes place by reincarnation.

That man is a god, part of God and again reincarnates,
is becoming slowly but surely a new confession.

V. Focus on Southern Africa

We think that the murders on farmers,
the hijackings, robberies and rape
is the consequence of lawlessness
but what if it becomes legal by legislation?

By the natural law as set out by Thomas Aquinas
in his Summa Theologiae that affirms Fascism,
or is it only ethnic hatred that is coming to the fore?

This says that possessions like farms,
houses, cars and even tools
are seen as only in title the owners property
but that the community have the right to the use of it
above the owner and may take it by force.

By the natural law as set out by Thomas Aquinas
in his Summa Theologiae is affirmed in Fascism,
or is it only ethnic hatred that is coming to the fore?

[References: Sewe Ballades met ‘n Proloog (Seven ballades with a prologue) by W.E.G. Louw. “Goods of some are due to others by the natural law. There is no sin if the poor take the goods of their neighbours. In cases of need, all things are common property, for the need has made it common. Not only is such taking of another’s property not a sin, it is not even crime. It is lawful for a man to succour his own need by means of another’s property by taking either openly or secretly, nor is this properly speaking, theft or robbery. It is not theft, properly speaking to take secretly and use another’s property in a case of extreme need, because that which he takes for the support of his own life becomes his own property by reason of that need. In a case of a like need a man may also take secretly another’s property to succour his neighbour’s need.” Summa Theologiae ii-ii 7th Article by Thomas Aquinas. “There is one type of fear more devastating in its impact than any other: the systematic fear that arises when a state begins to collapse. Ethnic hatred is the result of the terror that arises when legitimate authority disintegrates.” Michael Ignatieff: Blood and Belonging – Croatia and Serbia.]
