To be in love and act wisely is scarcely granted to a god.

I Took Him For Granted
I once was blind
But now I see
I took him for granted
She took him from me
I once had a love
But now now I have none
And im, Im as blue as can be
I treated him a-wrong
And now im, Im all alone
I took him for granted
She took him from me
Well if I had known then
Just what I know now
I wouldve treated him so differently
And if i, if I had known
Well then i
I couldve shown him more love
Than hell ever see from her
I thought I had his love
In the palm of my hand
But i, I guess she showed me
And now i, I understand
Just how she, she got my man
I took him for granted
She took him from me

Wisely Love The Wise
The wise love wisely.
It’s said, that when the truly wise
surface from their sleep,
they see nought but heavenly blue
in which the world then gently, slowly shapes itself
as if this whole created world were but
a single act of love; and within that love,
their love is wisdom, knowledge, law;
as they emerge from their wise sleep,
this is what they are.
The wise love wisely; when they look at you,
(you who maybe meet them for
the first time; offer them perhaps
a flower from too hot a hand,
a fruit, a handkerchief…
or meet them by some heavenly accident,
they, like a comet through your life)
and their first so wise glance at you
sees nought but your perfection;
they do not doubt that you are they,
that they are you; and while they’re here
you share all this with them;
you’ve met yourself; for this
is what you are..
The wise are careful lovers
for love is care, and care is charity;
and yet the wise are widest, wildest,
most romantic lovers:
they throw, they strew their love
on all and every one and thing without a further thought,
offering simply, lawful freedom, happiness;
bidding love well as it flies away,
wishing you themself;
wishing you, yourself;
The wise love wisely;
for they know the secret law of love:
the more it’s given, the more there is
to give.
The wise love wisely;
so, they wear a wise disguise;
they look like you and me; because
we are that same disguise.

Amnesty Is Granted
Loves an hourglass.
It goes out wide then it comes in closer.
It drifts away leaving empty shattered moments.
Who said that love could last forever.
Im growin tired of feelin like I do.
As we drift apart.
Little secerts come between us.
As we sail away.
Feelin comfort in the distance.
You said that love would last forever.
Neither one of us will ever surrender.
Theres a time.
Theres a place.
A change of heart.
About face.
This is about love.
Its about forgiveness.
Tell me now -
Tell me like it is.
You dont have to give -
Amnesty is granted.
Whats done is done for everyone.
Come on baby let start again right now.
Amnesty, amnesty, amnesty is granted.
Yeah, I think a lot.
Yeah I been thinkin a lot.
I been thinkin about you baby.
Lord knows Ive been thinkin about you.
Ive been thinkin that love would last forever.
Neither one of us will ever surrender.
Theres a time.
Theres a place.
A change of heart.
About face.
This is about love.
Its about forgiveness.
Tell me now -
Tell me like it is.
You dont have to give -
Amnesty is granted.
Well done is done for everyone.
Come on baby let start again right now.
Amnesty, amnesty, amnesty is granted.
Neither one of us will ever surrender.
Theres a time.
Theres a place.
A change of heart.
About face.
This is about love.

I
I was granted the opportunity to live
Let me have life
I was taught how to love
Let me love my neighbor
I was told about tradition
Let me be proud of my heritage
I learned about school
Let me have knowledge
I found friends
Let me give you friendship
I was granted the opportunity to shine
Please let me be a star

Power Of Kindness
tomorrow isn't promised today
so today take full advantage
of the life you have
and the people you share it with
never take life for granted
because if you do
it just might be
the last thing you'll do
make a new friend everyday
and show the people you love
that you really do
care and love them
never go a day
without telling someone
that you love them
even if it's just your parents
never leave someone
on a bad note
because it just might be
the last time you see them
even if you get
into a big fight with someone
tell them afterwords that
your sorry for what happened
you'll feel better
about yourself when you do
and you might even make
them feel better to
one kind word to someone
can make their day
or even stop them
from doing the unthinkable
you have the power
to change someones life
just say something nice to them
or even just a small gesture
the power is yours
and yours alone
so use it wisely
and you'll never go wrong
follow your heart
and nothing can stop you
from giving the ultimate power
the power of kindness.

People Like Us
Life is given as a gift
So it should be taken as one
We should wake up thankful that the day came
When you feel like you have it worst
You can always look at the people who have nothing
Then you would realize that you have everything
The people who have nothing
Don’t take life for granted
They are very grateful for everyday that comes
But people like us who have lots
Take life for granted
We don’t stop to realize what we’ve got
Then before we know it, it’s gone.
Its people like us
Who lead the troops to war.
And kill thousands, all over land.
Frankly I don’t understand why we
All can’t just get over it and increase the love
We all have to have material things such as cell phones
Most of us couldn't even go a day with out them.
Most of them have never even seen a cell phone
Yet, we still take things for granted
Everyday you should think about those
People when your getting mad because you
Can’t get your way
And maybe then one day
People will stop taking things for granted
Especially life
And live every day as if it were their last.
People like us need
To be like people like them

Without you
I got to make it through without you,
I so sad to say that how much I had missed you,
I have mistreated you,
Took you for granted,
I am sorry for what I have done,
There is nothing I can do to make you stay,
Just say that we may remain as friends,
I am here without you,
You are there having fun with someone you probably love,
You probably don’t remember me,
I once took people for granted without knowing the consequences,
The consequences of hurt and pain,
Without you I have made me strong but yet still missing you,
1 there is nothing wrong with me,
2 there is something I have to say,
3 I am here with out you,
4 I miss you terribly,
But all is fair love is war.

Unanswered Prayers
The greatest gift
Can sometimes be…
Unanswered prayers
Life composed…
Then unexpectedly exposed
as a labyrinth of layers
For what you pray today…
could be The opposite of…
your prayers upon the morrow
And the granted prayer
Now wished undone, becomes…
A source of new found sorrow
Take care in prayer
Intone it wisely…
waste it not, I pray of you
Take care in what you pray for
For your prayer…
just might come true

His Way, My Way
I Have My way to do things
God gives us His Way.
We have a choice now
To choose wisely
If God will make His Way
Where there seems
To be No Other way.
He Works
In A Way
Where We cannot see or hear.
He will make
A way for us to follow
And to believe in His faith.
If we choose wrongly
We bear all consequences
We accept the punishments
Given by God.
So my friends, we
Must choose wisely the way
Of faithful living
And
Trusting in God.
One day by His Way,
We shall see
And meet our God.

Love Was Like the Stars
I remember
when the wine
was sweet
and our laughter
something that
we took for granted.
I remember
when every dream
seemed within our reach,
nothing that we ventured
ended in defeat
and every flower
blossomed
that we planted.
I remember
cold mornings
that made each day show clear
and black crystal nights
with a thousand
fiery stars
so close
it seemed
they'd landed
in our hearts
and in our souls
burning hot
within our passions
and love was like the wine
and love was like the stars
and love was like the laughter
that we took for granted.
I want justice to be so pervasive that it will be taken for granted, just as injustice is taken for granted today.

Shake The Sugar Tree
(chapin hartford)
(track 5 - time 3:08)
Love, youre getting lazy
Youre forgettin to give me
Sweet sugar words that I wanna hear
Youve been neglectin me
You know jealously, it is a bitter as a green spring berry
And just like fruit from a fickle vine
You turn sweet in the nick of time
Love you only come alive when youre losin me
And its a childish game
Ive got to shake you up just to wake you up
To make you love me
Ill shake the sugar tree
Til I feel your love fallin all around me
Youve got to tend to what you planted
And if you take my love for granted baby
Ill shake the sugar tree
Another night and youre sleepin
Im awake and Im dreamin
Oh honey bout the way that it used to be
And little times gone by
Do you think that Im content
With the cookin and the payin of rent
No I wanna know if your loves all spent
Ill shake the sugar tree
Til I feel your love fallin all around me
Youve got to tend to what you planted
And if you take my love for granted baby
Ill shake the sugar tree
Ive got to raise some commotion
Before you show me some real emotion
Ill shake the sugar tree
Til I feel your love fallin all around me
Youve got to tend to what you planted
And if you take my love for granted baby
Ill shake the sugar tree
You know Im gonna shake the sugar tree
Til I feel your love fallin all around me
Youve got to tend to what you planted
And if you take my love for granted baby
Ill shake the sugar tree

The power of prayer
You pray a lot and take pride
That your prayers are granted
And you pray some more
Like a monk like a priest,
Sometimes I think about
Prayerful dogs, what if their
Prayers are granted too
Bones and more bones
Would surely rain from
The heavenly skies.
Oh yes, I pray, but if my
Prayers are not granted,
I still know that God loves me
He thinks my wants are not the best
For me, and he reserves the rest.
That really suits me best.

Quickly And In A Swift Delete
I am romantic.
One who loves to touch.
I am the hug and cuddle type.
And I keep my distance,
From those uptight about it.
I am extremely compassionate.
And give affection easily.
But there are only just a few,
Who have seen this side of me.
Those who I thought were close,
To use me to throw under a bus...
In protection of their deceit.
I am sure they have discovered by now,
That a taking me for granted...
Removes them quickly and in a swift delete.
I am romantic and love to touch.
And I am not a collector of people,
To have around me much.
There is a certain kind of person,
Who's company I keep.
And anyone who ever takes me for granted.
They will learn I am not weak...
When I delete.
Be real, be you.
That is the only way to be.
Never take others for granted.
Be upfront with trust AND honesty.
These attributes today rare commodities.
Be real, be you.
That is the only way to be.
Be honest and true.
And value those with qualities like these.

Forgotten, But Not Gone
(johnny macrae/buzz carson)
Her birthday came and went without a card, or a single I love you
On their anniversary she sat all alone at a table set for two
She tries her best to please him, but she never hears one single word of praise
She feels just like a stranger, in a home where love has seen its better days
Well hes taken her for granted
God only knows why she keeps hangin on
cause its better to be gone, but not forgotten
Than to be forgotten, but not gone
Somehow he cant remember, when hes late to even take the time to call
And even on the nights hes there she gets the feeling hes not there at all
Shes become a prisoner in that big old house where sweet love used to be
Well, its not even over but lord she feels just like a memory
Well hes taken her for granted
God only knows why she keeps hangin on
cause its better to be gone, but not forgotten
Than to be forgotten, but not gone
cause its better to be gone, but not forgotten
Gone, but not forgotten
Than to be forgotten, but not gone
