He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have.

Such luxury is not for me. for friend Thad
A marble floor that’s silken smooth
and walls of carven cedar wood.
What does such ostentation prove?
I do not know but feel I should.
Such luxury is not for me
I am contented with my lot.
I make no effort to impress
I have sufficient for my needs.
It matters not that I have less
than those who feel they must succeed
Such luxury is not for me.
I am contented with my lot
I see no reason to display
I much prefer my privacy.
I live my life in my own way
Accepting life’s reality
Such luxury is not for me.
I am contented with my lot
Though I indulge in fantasy
from time to time like everyone
I know it’s not reality
only a dream that’s quickly gone.
Such luxury is not for me.
I am contented with my lot.
I earn my living honestly
although I’m just an artisan
Better to live quietly
as befits a simple man.
Such luxury is not for me.
I am contented with my lot
A marble floor that’s silken smooth
and walls of carven cedar wood.
What does such ostentation prove?
Something I’ve never understood.
Such luxury is not for me.
I am contented with my lot.

Ignorant Bliss
The status quo, Oh! How I hate that word.
It always summons to my mind a bleak
Condition. Something static; the absurd.
Incapable of change. A sluggish clique
Contented to remain immovable.
Consequently, the common people keen
To worship creeds that are improvable.
Beliefs in doctrines as contrived as dreams.
The branded multitude we label free.
The mark is either cross or star to make
A difference. There’s no difference! See
The cows in meadows! Their future is Steak!
We also are contented creatures, dumb.
Unable to assert ourselves. How come?

Beautiful Love
Beautiful love, you're all a mystery
Beautiful love, what have you done to me?
I was contented 'till you came along
Thrilling, my soul with your song
Beautiful love, you're all a mystery
Beautiful love, what have you done to me?
I was contented 'till you came along
will my dreams come true
Beautiful love,I've roamed your paradise
Searching for love, my dreams to realise
Reaching for heaven,depending on you
Beautiful love, will my dreams come true

Once In A While
(m. edwards, b. green)
Once in a while,
Will you try
To give one little thought to me,
Though someone else may be
Nearer your heart?
Once in a while,
Will you dream
Of the moments
I shared with you,
Moments before we two
Drifted apart?
In loves smoldering ember,
One spark may remain.
If love still can remember,
That spark may burn again.
I know that ill
Be contented with
Yesterdays memory,
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while.
~interlude~
Once in a while...
In loves smoldering ember,
One spark may remain.
If love still can remember,
The spark may burn again.
I know that ill
Be contented with
Yesterdays memory,
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while...
Once in a while.
