There are not many who would announce their faults with a gong.

There was an Old Man with a gong,
Who bumped at it all day long;
But they called out, 'O law!
You're a horrid old bore!'
So they smashed that Old Man with a gong.

Do not think of your faults, still less of other's faults; look for what is good and strong, and try to imitate it. Your faults will drop off, like dead leaves, when their time comes.

The Gong Show provided me with five years of the happiest times of my life, but that's that. And to be known as the guy who gave the world The Gong Show - listen, my Uncle George isn't known as anything. So I guess it isn't so bad in that context.

Death used to announce itself in the thick of life but now people drag on so long it sometimes seems that we are reaching the stage when we may have to announce ourselves to death. It is as though one needs a special strength to die, and not a final weakness.

Faults And All
(Carl Perkins)
Not so very long from now
She'll be known all over town
Cause she waits by her phone from in the car
She says the limit is the sky
And tonight she's flyin' high
But I'll hang around and take her faults and all
O' Yes she once was mine
Now she's changed and she's that kind
With a crowd she has her self a ball
But she's not that kind of girl
She's just hidin' from the world
But I'll hang around and take her faults and all
She's about as low as a girl can go
She ain't got far to fall
But when she hits the ground
I'm gonna be around
'Cause I want her most of all
And when all's been said and done
I'm gonna be the one
Who'll hang around and take her faults and all
Yeah I'll hang around and take her faults and all

What the Gray-Winged Fairy Said
The moon's a gong, hung in the wild,
Whose song the fays hold dear.
Of course you do not hear it, child.
It takes a FAIRY ear.
The full moon is a splendid gong
That beats as night grows still.
It sounds above the evening song
Of dove or whippoorwill.

Survival
Ill survive you, I will survive you
Well, its too late, I know, to change the way we go
From this day on I want to stay on
Now that Ive started learning
And the tides started turning
Well, its here I want to stay
Ill let the moon announce my arrival
To every eye that cares to see
Just working on the art of survival
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
Im alive here, I can survive dear
Though the weather might change
From the wind to the rain
Well, my heart remains the same
Ill let the moon announce my arrival
To every eye that cares to see
Just working on the art of survival
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
Looked out on a sea of trouble
And I tried to stall for awhile
Its so hard to answer every question
And its hard to protect your heart anymore
Ill let the moon announce my arrival (I am alive)
To every eye that cares to see
Just working on the art of survival (but I wonder)
Where do we go from here
Ill let the moon announce my arrival (I am alive)
To every eye that cares to see
Just working on the art of survival (but I wonder)
Where do we go from here
Ill let the moon announce my arrival (I am alive)
To every eye that cares to see
Just working on the art of survival (but I wonder)
Where do we go from here ...

Bang A Gong
Well, you're dirty and sweet, clad in black, don't look back, and i love you.
You're dirty and sweet, oh yeah.
Well, you're windy and wild you've got the teeth of the hydra upon you.
You're dirty-sweet and you're my girl.
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on.
Get it on, bang a gong, get it on.
(?)
These boots were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do.
Bon voyage, y'all.(?)
Meanwhile, i'm still thinking.(?)

Our Eyes
Have you seen
How quickly
Our eyes close
When they
See our own
Faults?
And how quickly
They pop out open
When they guzzle in
Others' faults?
Our eyes open
Wide and shut.
They are very
Choosy about
Our faults ;)
Being partial
Towards us,
But unsparing,
Towards others.

A man's faults all conform to his type of mind. Observe his faults and you may know his virtues.

The faults of a superior person are like the sun and moon. They have their faults, and everyone sees them; they change and everyone looks up to them.
Happy is he whose own faults prevent him from castigating the faults of others.
What Is It that I Seek
Could I announce from a pulpit,
Travesties I disdain?
Within my consciousness that remains.
To inflict my personal conflicts...
With a revealing of my own insecurities,
I can not shake.
Why do I have a need from a pulpit,
To announce this to berate in a scolding.
And to what desired effect?
There has to be 'something' within me,
I have not been able to face.
There has to be 'something' within me,
An honesty has not graced...
That permits a self examination,
To thoroughly erase.
And what is it that I seek...
To continue to punish others,
For those mistakes I've made?
Is it my own acceptance?
Or my deceptions...
That will not from me go away.
And I need the assurance I am protected,
By my own creation.

Glowing Warmth
Glowing Warmth
By Lance Gong
Summer is the warmth in the heart
A god drawing his beautiful art
Everyone sees its magical start
no one can pull love,
and summer apart.
Summer is like a radiant dove
flying over the sky and above.
it spreads its wings, the feathers allp glow
the beaming rays shining so low.
The Rivers flow
the canoes row
drifting as they go
Summer's awesome
nature's blossom
glows as the sun
gives Earth's fun
out to EVERYONE!

It wounds a man less to confess that he has failed in any pursuit through idleness, neglect, the love of pleasure, etc., etc., which are his own faults, than through incapacity and unfitness, which are the faults of his nature.

By day think of your own faults, by night think of the faults of others.
Criticism is the disapproval of people, not for having faults, but having faults different from your own.
I Would Go Crazy If I Dont Stop
I would go crazy if I don't stop
Hear my head beat as fast as the gong-gong beater
Climbing high into this realm of life I would drop
Into the boiling water with too many heater
I would go crazy if I don't stop
Giving my heart out on a silver platter
Perhaps I wish I was the frog who hop
In the broad day light were all his dreams shatter
I would go crazy if I don't stop
Feeding my emotion to a worthless swine
Like the mother pig who lives at the top
Lo I should run away in caves and hide
I would go crazy if I don't stop
Perhaps the best remedy is to lie and cry
Into this huge and hallowed cup
Which boils and keep all other tears dry

Faults
They came to tell your faults to me,
They named them over one by one;
I laughed aloud when they were done,
I knew them all so well before, --
Oh, they were blind, too blind to see
Your faults had made me love you more.
