I Dont Believe In Miracles

Written by russ ballard, 1980
Found on alibi.
I walk along the road and past your door
Then I remember things you said
I know in time we couldve been so much more
But if you wanna come back home, go right ahead
But I dont believe in miracles
I dont believe in miracles
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are
I believe I was your game, your ball (your ball)
If you tossed me up then I would fall
And so youve won again, ah, you win them all
But I believe Id run to you, if you should call
But I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are (tell me where you are)
I believe that somewhere theres someone
Whos gonna light the way when things go wrong
The bullet that shot me down came from your gun
The words that turned me round were from your song
But I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are (tell me where you are)
But I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
I dont believe in miracles (dont believe in miracles)
But I thought you might show your face
Or have the grace to tell me where you are

Testimony Time

Believers, you'll find everywhere,
Each with a tale to tell,
Of how they sought the Lord in prayer,
When into sin they fell...
Though many folks aren't criminals,
According to Man's laws,
God beckons us with many calls,
With total love not force...

Believers come, believers go,
One life on Earth to live
And yet, how can Man's spirit grow
If God would not forgive?
So many souls enslaved by sin,
How can God set them free?
The Bible helps each soul begin,
But first at Calvary...

Believers learn God's ways in time,
Since prophecies abound,
With each fulfillment so sublime
That wisdom must be found!
The sorrows of the past are healed
In spirit, body, soul,
When Jesus Christ has been revealed
And when He takes control...

Believers each have ministries,
Ordained by God above!
If they obey and seek to please,
His grace will prove enough...
Please listen to their tales of grace,
Their miracles, their prayers,
As they, the Gospel Truth embrace
And do what Jesus says!

Denis Martindale, copyright, June 2011.

The poem is about the Revelation TV show
called Testimony Time in which the lifestories
of Christian believers help explain how they
first believed and how God has made them
overcomers. Though in this world we find
many troubles and setbacks, there is still
the message of the Cross, the gifts of hope,
new life and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

D. J.

Im home, lost my job, and incurably ill
You think this is easy, realism
Ive got a girl out there, I suppose
I think shes dancing
Feel like dan dare lies down
I think shes dancing, what do I know?
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around, no, oh, ooh
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around, no, oh no
I am a d.j., I am what I play
I got believers (kiss-kiss)
Believing me, oh
One more, weekend, of lights and evening faces
Fast food, living nostalgia
Humble pie or bitter fruit
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around no, ooh
I am a d.j., I am what I say
Cant turn around no, cant turn around, ooh
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Ive got believers (kiss-kiss)
Believing me
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Can turn around no (kiss-kiss)
Time flies when youre having fun
Break his heart, break her heart
He used to be my boss and millions of puppet dancer
I am a d.j., and Ive got believers
Ive got believers
Ive got believers
Ive got believers in me
Ive got believers
I am a d.j., I am what I play
I am a d.j.

I Went To A Fiesta Today

it is the feast of San Vicente today,
and all those places named after this saint
took turns in butchering their chickens and pigs
as offering to the powerful miracles of this saint.

some played their gongs to remind
them of the rhythm of love and action
because this saint taught and
showed that God has the power
to cure the sick and liberate
the minds of those who are in prison.

i went to the house of this woman who once
was mad. She confessed her sins of commission
and omission.
She once kicked her husband and
left him.

Now she is serving us food and stays beside her husband.
She smiles. She remembers everything.
Once she once was in deep depression and she prayed a lot
at the chapel of San Vicente.
Light shone upon her forehead.
There was a dove. There was fire. There was a voice.

And surely enough she went home
whole and cured.

Hence, this feast, this thanksgiving, she said.

Life’s Ups And Downs

In all of our ups and our downs, beyond our smiles and our frowns,
Beyond each giggle and every pout, God is working something out,
Beyond our courage and our fears, the eternity God spoke of nears,
And the final up for those in Christ, shall be our entering Eternal Life.

Until then, through both me and you, God still has some work to do,
And we don’t know all that He does, as God works through all of us.
It’s during the many trials we face, in which God displays His Grace,
For many men still need to know, and some believers need to grow.

It was through Grace we received, that in The Truth we had believed,
When as sinners we would realize, as a veil was lifted from our eyes,
That God’s Love was available to us, when in Christ we put our trust,
So we didn’t have to live alone, and became one of God’s very own.

And some of God’s own today, are struggling along the narrow way,
So the guidance to us God will show, helps those believers to grow,
As God’s preparing all of His own, for the time He will take us Home,
Getting each heart prepared for, the soon return of our Blessed Lord.

As things happen within this life, we must stay fixed on Jesus Christ,
For The Lord God is still not done, drawing men unto Christ, His Son,
So believers continue to be a part, while The Spirit, God does impart,
Being in Christ, all we need to be, so others see, all they need to see.

Sister Alphonsa (Aug 1910 – July 1946) From Blessed One to Saint

The cradle of Christianity
In India is Kerala-
Where Saint Thomas, the Apostle
Set foot, two thousand years ago.

The fourth child of father, Ouseph,
She lost her mother, Mariam,
When she was just three years of age,
Remaining sick, all through her life.

‘Be a nun, my child’- were the words,
A Carmelite nun said to her:
These were engraved within her heart
Of love for Jesus Christ, till death.

She did not want to get married;
She chose to be a nun in life;
So, burnt her leg in live ash-pit,
To prove her wish to follow Christ.

She joined the Franciscan Convent
Of Clarist nuns and took her vows;
She suffered pain all life in bed,
But offered it to Jesus Christ.

With pain and agony, she lived,
Self-mortified a life for Christ;
Her suffering had turned all joy,
When love of Savior, filled her heart.

She suffered from malaria,
And Tuberculosis and ulcer;
Some doubted her piety too;
But in the end, just truth triumphed.

A robber attacked her by night,
And left her bleeding and upset;
She died when just thirty-seven;
Of double pneumonia illness.

A one-year boy of Kottayam
Was cured of his deformity,
When parents prayed over her tomb,
Starting a string of miracles!

Beatified by John Paul II,
In 1986 itself,
She wrought miracles numerous,
For devotees who prayed to her.

Young children flocked to see her tomb
And prayed to Sister Alphonsa;
Their handicaps were cured at once;
Ailments of stomach vanished fast.

Some barren wombs had gift of child;
All kinds of ailments vanished fast;
She interceded when they prayed
To God and miracles were wrought.

Her name has brought her hometown fame;
The sister will be canonized
On October twelfth of this year-
First Indian nun and female saint!

Like how wheat grains are crushed and ground
To bake the Holy Eucharist;
And grapes are pressed to make good wine,
Our sufferings too make us good.

Her tomb at Bharananganam,
Is famous pilgrimage centre.
She is the proof of God’s great works;
The road to sainthood isn’t easy!

Dedicated to the loving memory
Of the Venerable Sis. Alphonsa,
Who will be declared Saint shortly.

She Works Hard For The Money

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

Onetta there in the corner stand
and wonders where she is and
it's strange to her
some people seem to have everything

Nine a.m. on the hour hand
and she's waiting for the bell
and she's looking real pretty
just wait for her clientele

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

Twenty five years have
come and gone
and she' seen a lot of tears
of the ones who come in
they really seem to need her there

It's a sacrifice working day to day
for little money just tips for pay
But it's worth it all
just to hear them say that they care

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She already knows
she's seen her bad times
she already knows
these are the good times

She'll never sell out
she never will
not for a dollar bill
she works hard

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right

She works hard for the money
so hard for it honey
she works hard for the money
so you better treat her right
