Horse Draws Man a Cow

'Stupid Cow! ' prospective mother in law hissed
Princess Bride, shimmering 'Old Horse', and giggled
Banishing each other to their hindly quarters
Loving Colt today also a dashing groom hoofed, in bridles

Old Horse to bridled colt, yelling across the lawn
'I taste it! The grass is greener on the other siiiiiide...! '
Stupid Cow fuming, stamping Old Horse's pawn
'That Old Horse can now gallop home! - Go on for a ride! '

Dashing groom huffing, nervous and perplexed
Spectators murmuring behind powdery carnations
Maids exchanging glances perturbed, stupid cow vexed
Uncle Colin eyeing Glenda's mocha rum fondants,

Huffing, perplexed groom accompanied by bestman
An entourage of suited jockeys behind them
Pleading, whispering that it was 'Stupid Cow's day, hun'
As Old Horse neighed all the way home

Four years on, still divided, Stupid Cow and Old Horse
Both sides stubborn in their quarters to concede
That his grass is still green with the cow and colt-calves
That the Old Horse has a love needed by the new cross breed

What is a Horse?

What is a horse?
A horse has eyes as dainty as a mink.
The grace is interrupted merely by a blink.
A horse is beauty.

What is a horse?
A horse is a tree in a storm that never goes down.
A horse is a weathered rock that stays around.
A horse is ancient.

What is a horse?
A horse waltzes like breeze over rivers.
She curvets and leaps like rain shivers.
A horse is a marionette.

What is a horse?
A horse is determination, that never stops flowing.
A horse is fondness, that never stops growing.
A horse is poetic power.

A Horse Racing Legend

Along comes a horse
So powerful and sleek
He runs with his heart
Not his feet.

The heart of a champion
Is what this horse has
The looks of eagles in his eyes
Just as

He runs and runs with all his heart
While the crowd is awed with his amazing arts
He crosses the wire in first
And becomes a legend, know

In a time of need
This horse has shown power
He shows no fear
At the passing hour

From a broken-down claimer,
To a racer with heart
This horse has become
A Legend, no doubt

We all lose a few
But it doesn't matter much
If your a horse like this
With spirit and punch.

Wind Horse

Da naho… It is said,
Wind Horse, gentle Wind horse, you were the last of your kind.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, you were running wild and free.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, with this freedom you did nothing but give;
When one called for help you carried them to safety,
No enemy did you have.

Da naho… It is said,
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, you gave your life one day
To a boy with no leg.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, you gave him your endless love.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, you now run in the Great Hunting Grounds;
Giving joy to those there, as you did here.

Da naho… It is said,
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, your life was not the last gift
You gave the People.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, you prayed for us, you wished a wish for us.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, we remember you through your brother Horse.

Wi: yo: h … It is good.
Wind Horse, Wind Horse, we see you still.

A Horse Is A Horse

A horse is a horse and a man is a man
And neither can be the other
And each can survive but is much better
In the company of one another.
And while a horse is a horse and that is true
A horse is but a beast
As a cow is a cow, some ask how
On its flesh we should not feast?
For they do so in France as in other places
And I don't know how they can
For while a horse is a horse and is only a horse
It is less a cow than it is a man!

The White Horse...

on that early dawn
they arrived. I will not tell you
exactly how many were they.
they brought the wild horse again
this time it is white and coy
they did not speak to me
my attention was focused on the
beautiful horse
i did not show that i liked it
i did not talk too
then they brought the horse inside
the house
and then the windows and doors
were closed
and then the white horse started to
dance
and i liked it more

it was then that i realized
what are they really
and why are they here bringing me
a beautiful white horse

will they take my antique chairs
made of rosewood?
will i bargain my house
for a horse?

just for a horse
and they whose names i do not really know
shall laugh
after they had finally taken the whole of what i have

just for a white horse whose talent is just
to dance?

A Fork in the Road

A fork in the road
A choice to be made
A prayer on the lips
Which way to go?

A cowboy on his horse
A blue sky overhead
A decision to make
To trust God or not?

A man riding the plains
A horse underneath
Pondering this question
“Is it enough for me? ”

A rider on his knees
A horse stands behind
A soul is now saved
Let all heaven rejoice!

How the Melbourne Cup was Won

In the beams of a beautiful day,
Made soft by a breeze from the sea,
The horses were started away,
The fleet-footed thirty and three;
Where beauty, with shining attire,
Shed more than a noon on the land,
Like spirits of thunder and fire
They flashed by the fence and the stand.
And the mouths of pale thousands were hushed
When Somnus, a marvel of strength,
Past Bowes like a sudden wind rushed,
And led the bay colt by a length;
But a chestnut came galloping through,
And, down where the river-tide steals,
O’Brien, on brave Waterloo,
Dashed up to the big horse’s heels.

But Cracknell still kept to the fore,
And first by the water bend wheeled,
When a cry from the stand, and a roar
Ran over green furlongs of field;
Far out by the back of the course —
A demon of muscle and pluck —
Flashed onward the favourite horse,
With his hoofs flaming clear of the ruck.

But the wonderful Queenslander came,
And the thundering leaders were three;
And a ring, and a roll of acclaim,
Went out, like a surge of the sea:
“An Epigram! Epigram wins!” —
“The Colt of the Derby” — “The bay!”
But back where the crescent begins
The favourite melted away.

And the marvel that came from the North,
With another, was heavily thrown;
And here at the turning flashed forth
To the front a surprising unknown;
By shed and by paddock and gate
The strange, the magnificent black,
Led Darebin a length in the straight,
With thirty and one at his back.

But the Derby colt tired at the rails,
And Ivory’s marvellous bay
Passed Burton, O’Brien, and Hales,
As fleet as a flash of the day.
But Gough on the African star
Came clear in the front of his “field”,
Hard followed by Morrison’s Czar
And the blood unaccustomed to yield.

Yes, first from the turn to the end,
With a boy on him paler than ghost,
The horse that had hardly a friend
Shot flashing like fire by the post.
When Graham was “riding” ‘twas late
For his friends to applaud on the stands,
The black, through the bend and “the straight”,
Had the race of the year in his hands.

In a clamour of calls and acclaim,
He landed the money — the horse
With the beautiful African name,
That rang to the back of the course.
Hurrah for the Hercules race,
And the terror that came from his stall,
With the bright, the intelligent face,
To show the road home to them all!

Me & My Horse

riding together,
you and your horse.

as you run against the wind all you call hear is-
the wind wipping your ears,
the horse's hooves thundering beneath you,
the chains of your bit as the horse pulls against the reins,
and the faint sound of the horse behind you.

your horse stops,
the horse behind you catches up.

the race is over,
freedom will have to wait until next time.

A Horse For Dinner

A horse A horse
My kingdom for a horse,
A horse A horse
For the main course

Muscles of might
Pulled so tight,
A body of organs
All for a meal

Why a horse?
Why not a deer?
A horse does the work,
A deer will just peer

A horse is strong
a deer has no uses,
so there for a deer
suffers the abuses

Condemned is a deer
as from the day it's born,
until the day it dies
and its meaty flesh torn

So why a horse
if a deer has no uses?
because I am a man
Who too, has suffered too many abuses

The Day That Curly Billy Shot Down Crazy Sam Mcgee

(clarke)
Big tall man standing in the street
Gun hanging by his side
Just one man that hed like to meet
Thats when I began to hide
I recognised him from the face of his son
The hate in his eye didnt lie
Oh what I did cant be undone
Borrowed time theres none to buy
Well I hid round the back of a derelict shack
Aint looking for a mad showdown
But he was smart, hed already checked
A week in advance Id paid down
Well the hotel clerk was a fun-loving man
The job he had it didnt pay
He told all about what happened that night
There he is, thats the ones all hed say
Well all the people were running, jumping, even thumping
On my bad neighbours doors
Crying curly billy silly with his colt he calls filly
Let me in I gotta hide
Well everybody was crying, sighing sam mcgees dying
No one to protect our town
Curly billy silly with his colt he calls filly,
Hes gonna shoot your sherriff down
Big tall man standing in the street
Now a hand hovering waiting to slide
Drew out his gun it wasnt for fun
Let me in theres nowhere to hide
Well I made my play but it wasnt my day
I felt the ripping lead
Thats when I knew my time was through
Rest in peace were the last words he said
Well all the people were running, jumping, even thumping
On my bad neighbours doors
Crying curly billy silly with his colt he calls filly
Let me in I gotta hide
Well everybody was crying, sighing sam mcgees dying
No one to protect our town
Curly billy silly with his colt he calls filly,
Hes gonna shoot your sherriff down
Well all the people were running, jumping, even thumping
On my bad neighbours doors
Crying curly billy silly with his colt he calls filly
Let me in I gotta hide
Well everybody was crying, sighing sam mcgees dying
No one to protect our town
Curly billy silly with his colt he calls filly,
Hes gonna shoot your sherriff down

Since the governments are in the pockets of businesses, who's going to control this most powerful institution? Business is more powerful than politics, and it's more powerful than religion. So it's going to have to be the vigilante consumer.

Horse and Rider

The prairie blows the grasses
And whips the horse’s mane.
They travel, horse and rider,
Through the sea of amber grain

Hills roll by, and clouds pass
But steady are the horse’s hooves
Upon the wind blown grass
As they travel, horse and rider

There is no trail that they follow
No path that can be seen
There they travel, horse and rider
Upon the endless blowing green
