Folly
(For A. K. K.)
What distant mountains thrill and glow
Beneath our Lady Folly's tread?
Why has she left us, wise in woe,
Shrewd, practical, uncomforted?
We cannot love or dream or sing,
We are too cynical to pray,
There is no joy in anything
Since Lady Folly went away.
Many a knight and gentle maid,
Whose glory shines from years gone by,
Through ignorance was unafraid
And as a fool knew how to die.
Saint Folly rode beside Jehanne
And broke the ranks of Hell with her,
And Folly's smile shone brightly on
Christ's plaything, Brother Juniper.
Our minds are troubled and defiled
By study in a weary school.
O for the folly of the child!
The ready courage of the fool!
Lord, crush our knowledge utterly
And make us humble, simple men;
And cleansed of wisdom, let us see
Our Lady Folly's face again.

Men In Chains
Men in chains
In malady of the age,
Bigots in rage
Worshippers lie in state.
Another Chuch
Bombed last night,
Good God! take them
Out of my sight.
Is this a folly in Religion?
I thought we worship
A one God.
What has those children
Done that you bring
Them to hurt?
.
This morning
Another father mudered
His son for love of money
Imagine
This mother abandoned
Her child, cause she can't keep him
Holy Christ!
It takes one like you
To make the Devil wise.
You must strike down
The oppressors
Of my people.
For in heart of man
Your love had dwindled.
.
Who said Christ
Did not live Nazareth?
Three days after death
He resurrect.
Up in the Hevenly
He made His throne,
So we can die tomorrow
And have a home.
Oh how sweet it is!
We have a hope.

Folly And The Peace
Distribute the folly among the people of nearness,
Tabulate their weaknesses, scribes are again.
A gain has been committed for the reality,
The worlds of greatness complain so they gain.
To folly we achieve our peace, but the great worlds
Inhibit this folly, for the goodness, for the belly of ache.
Forward they walk, backward they glance,
To act according to the peace and war has been achieved.

A Pound Of Flesh
you're a pound of flesh
you're an overdue book
you cannot take
what's already been took
now baby you've got the feel
and you've got the look
you're a pound of flesh
you're an overdue book
you're a prayer for judgement
you're a shooting star
blind man in the alley
playing slide guitar
you're way too close
to be going this far
you're a prayer for judgement
you're a shooting star
incurable sickness
you're a runaway train
you're an addiction
stronger than cocaine
you shake them hips
you drive me insane
incurable sickness
you're a runaway train.

Chanson d’Amour
I thought to live without true love
All my life through to be at peace,
But this heart, once again, would prove
Its folly from which I had won free.
Greater the folly is in me
Than child crying foolishly
To possess the lovely star
He sees shining clear and far.
However much I may despair
Love has well rewarded me
For serving him with all the care
I possess, without treachery,
Making Folly’s King of me.
Let all beware his deceit
Who grants such a gift, we see,
To those who serve loyally.
If I show anger it’s no wonder
To one who wounds me so sore
God! If I had him in my power
For just one day and no more:
Then he’d pay for his folly
As God my witness be!
He’d pay with his death, unless
He vanquished my lady blessed.
Ay! Noble heart, that is so wise,
Don’t scorn all my foolishness.
I know I’ve not the slightest right
To love you, just a lover’s right:
But folly drives us recklessly
Like a storm-tossed ship at sea,
That’s blown where the wind will blow,
Until all’s wrecked and brought low.
My lady who lacks never a grace,
Generous, kind, show me mercy:
Since there’s no evil in that face
But all good shines there clearly,
You know from whence this folly
That takes my life comes to me.
To whom can I cry again,
Except to you, in pain?
Song, pay her your respects, she
Is my sweet folly, and please
Beg her for God and honour
Never to prove a traitor.

Old Man Kensey
Old man kensey wants to be a sign painter
First hes got to learn to read
Hes gonna be a clown on tv
Flexes his elbow taunt and free
Thats my folly, I believe
Drink up the lake kenseys awake
Thats my folly, thats my mistake
Old man kensey wants to be a goalie
First hes got to learn to count
Hes gonna be a clown on a circus mount
Letters to be signed and dropped off
Kenseys going far
John, bill and ed, stand on your head
Thats my folly, Im ready to go
Old man kensey wants to be a dog catcher
First hes got to learn to stand
Hes gonna be a clown in a marching band
Letters to be signed ransom greed
Thats my folly, I believe
Drink up the lake, john, bill and ed,
Thats my folly, thats my mistake
Kenseys awake, stand on your head
Thats my folly, Im ready to go

Dolphin II
She told me tales of Arion
and the sly Ulysses
and filled my ringing ears
with sounding arias
of love among the fishes.
Oh, the waves are the laughter of water!
She dined upon the minnows
the whelk and such-like crill
but took from them contagion
that made her deadly ill
and gone, she's gone away.
Folly, say, and folly
for luxury to make
imperishable mischief
of every sea and lake.
So sadly short of sight.
Oh, the waves are the laughter of water!
Folly, cry, and folly
that loutish lucre makes
illimitable mischief
of every loch and brake.
So madly short of sight
Where is the lovely dolphin
that used to swim with me
along the gleaming torrents of
the vast, uncrowded sea?
the vast, uncrowded sea.

Love And Folly
LOVE, who now deals to human hearts,
Such ill thrown, yet resistless darts,
That hapless mortals can't withstand them,
Was once less cruel and perverse,
Nor did he then his shafts disperse,
So much at random.
It happened, that the thoughtless child
Was rambling thro' a flowery wild,
Like idle lad in school vacation;
Where sauntering now, and now at rest,
Stroll'd Folly, who to Love address'd
His conversation.
On trifles he had much to say,
Then laughing he propos'd to play,
And stake against Love's bow his bauble;
The quiver'd gamester smil'd and won,
But testy Folly soon began
To fret and squabble.
Loud and more loud the quarrel grows;
From words the wranglers went to blows,
For Folly's rage is prompt to rise;
Till bleeding Love a martyr stood
A stroke from Folly's weapon rude,
Put out his eyes.
Then wild with anguish, Venus pray'd,
For vengeance on the idiot's head,
And begg'd of cloud-compelling Jove,
His swiftest lightening, to destroy,
The mischievous malignant boy
That blinded Love.
'Folly is immortal,' Jove replied,
'But, tho' your prayer must be denied,
'An endless penance is decreed him;
'For Love, tho' blind, will reign around
'The world; but still where-ever found,
'Folly shall lead him.'
