The calmer you go, the further along you will be.

By The Rocky Bay
Last night, I was sitting by the rocky bay
Alone below the torching clouds,
Alone but had loads to say,
The tales of tomorrow,
The thoughts of today,
But as the sea kissed the bay,
My heart would sway,
From the calm sea to
The old calmer days,
A calmer mind, a calmer heart,
When nothing had fallen apart,
So today when I think of the rocky bay,
All I could see, in a vague imagery,
I am just a small fish in this grand sea.
Last night, I was sitting by the rocky bay
Alone below the torching clouds,
Alone but had loads to say,
The tales of tomorrow,
The thoughts of today,
But as the sea kissed the bay,
My heart would sway,

A calmer mind, a calmer heart,
When nothing had fallen apart,

All I could see, in a vague imagery,
I am just a small fish in this grand sea.

There was a Young Lady of Parma,
Whose conduct grew calmer and calmer;
When they said, 'Are you dumb?'
She merely said, 'Hum!'
That provoking Young Lady of Parma.

Having gone through all of this, I feel in some ways calmer now. It's strange, but sad. I think I'll always be sad.

Only The Wind
(tennant/lowe)
----------------
Its only the wind blowing litter all around
Just a little wind and the trees are falling down
Theres nobody crying, that was yesterday
Inside were all smiling, everythings okay
Its only the wind blowing cans along the street
Someones dustbin lid playing havoc with the peace
Theres nobody hiding behind a locked door
And no ones been lying, cause we dont lie any more
Its only the wind, how it takes you by surprise
Suddenly begins, then before you know it dies
My hands are not shaking, I dont touch a drop
You must be mistaken, I know when to stop
When life is calmer, I have no doubt
No angry drama, a storm blows itself out
Its only the wind, they say its getting worse
The trouble that it brings haunts us like a curse
My nerves are all jangled, but Im pulling through
I hope I can handle what I have to do
When life is calmer, I have no doubt
No angry drama, a storm blows itself out
A storm blows itself out...
Im sorry

Jiasheng
When the Emperor sought guidance from wise men, from exiles,
He found no calmer wisdom than that of young Jia
And assigned him the foremost council-seat at midnight,
Yet asked him about gods, instead of about people.

I had a breakthrough, I think my life just became calmer, I gave up drinking. My priorities changed as I had a young daughter. The group didn't want me to record for the Think Tank album... so I took it as a sign to leave.

On Imagining A Friend Had Treated The Author With Indifference.
Go, Jealousy, Tormentress dire;
On Lovers only seize:
In Love, like Winds, you fan the Fire,
And make it higher blaze.
But Friendship's calmer, purer Joy
Thou dost not heighten, but destroy.

Inscription For A Moss-House In The Shrubbery At Weston
Here, free from riot's hated noise,
Be mine, ye calmer, purer joys,
A book or friend bestows;
Far from the storms that shake the great,
Contentment's gale shall fan my seat,
And sweeten my repose.

Think in Circles
Feels like I'm going through this alone all the time.
I know what I want, what I need, who doesn't?
But how do I get it? Where do I look?
They never taught me the how to tell someone you're interested.
Or how to tell someone is interested in you.
It's hard to breathe. Why is it all such a mystery?
What's wrong with me? Am I broken? Are these thoughts evil?
Used to think this was anxiety. This is different, calmer, less nervous, more emotionally demanding. Makes you think in circles.

Bumpy Roads In Sight
I know bumpy roads, calmer to the sight,
Clumsiness yet is mistaking these journeys.
My seeing is for my goodness that sits,
Bitter truth shall exist after too much repose.
The wisdom so attracted to my head
Is like a vehicle only for my soul.
Existent qualities hear me as I walk
The distance of a mighty river.

Late In The Afternoon
LATE IN THE AFTERNOON
Late in the afternoon
Late in life
Lyric poetry is still possible.
It is quieter of course
And calmer of course
And its passion is subdued of course
But it is still possible.
Love does not die in old age
It simply sings softer.
Even now towards the end of this happy day
The light has its own sad song.

The backgrounds enhance.
Silence after storm is quieter than silence.
Peace after war is stiller than peace.
Privacy after turmoil is calmer than privacy.
Sex across the fence is lustier than sex.

Calm Waters
We set out on life’s ocean
filled with turbulent waves,
often looking for calmer waters
in which to stay and bathe.
We seek to find happiness
all of us want to find.
Some times, we find a friend,
who will take us by the hand,
leading us to those calm waters
we were looking for.

Can't unwish the world
You can't unwish the world love
it is this way for a reason
people wanted it so bad
every expectation is a prayer
desires spoken become
hopes treasured explode in jeweled colors
it will be this way till
the wish-tiller turns the boat
another way....onto shadier creeks
on calmer afternoons
in a simple place with room
for only me and you

My Lady's Maladies
Lucinda wasn't well at all,
she nearly drove us up the wall,
since on the carpet sleep did she
and not in bed, like you or me.
But everything now seems alright,
and so on Friday we'll take flight.
We're flying to a French city
thats known world over as Paris,
and once we're there we'll settle down
with no more wandering round town.
May the next months much calmer prove,
Or else, I fear, we'll have to move.
But as stockmarkets sink so low,
as if we'd move! Where could we go?

Lines -- Far, Far Away, O Ye
I.
Far, far away, O ye
Halcyons of Memory,
Seek some far calmer nest
Than this abandoned breast!
No news of your false spring
To my heart’s winter bring,
Once having gone, in vain
Ye come again.
II.
Vultures, who build your bowers
High in the Future’s towers,
Withered hopes on hopes are spread!
Dying joys, choked by the dead,
Will serve your beaks for prey
Many a day.

If Love Is Strong
We always take a detour
when there is a rocky road ahead,
but with love you never know
when it is right to take a detour.
You have to wade through
every coming storm,
hoping everything will turn out right.
If love is strong,
the storm will be a small squall,
with calmer waters
on the other side.
While you are in it
be prepared for a rough ride
until the storm recedes,
and peace is restored once more.
