Syracuse is a lovely place, with five bucks you can eat, drink, and get by.

Apollo left the golden Muse
And shepherded a mortal's sheep,
Theocritus of Syracuse!
To mock the giant swain that woo's
The sea-nymph in the sunny deep,
Apollo left the golden Muse.
Afield he drove his lambs and ewes,
Where Milon and where Battus reap,
Theocritus of Syracuse!
To watch thy tunny-fishers cruise
Below the dim Sicilian steep
Apollo left the golden Muse.
Ye twain did loiter in the dews,
Ye slept the swain's unfever'd sleep,
Theocritus of Syracuse!
That Time might half with HIS confuse
Thy songs,--like his, that laugh and leap, -
Theocritus of Syracuse,
Apollo left the golden Muse!

Dromio of Syracuse: Not a man of those but he hath the wit to lose his hair.

Possessions Devalued
Consumerism is childish...
Big Bucks. Big Bucks. Big Bucks. Spent.
More Toys. More Toys. More Toys. More...
For little Girls and Boys.
Who never grew up.
To learn the value of sharing.

Lovely One
Lovely one,
Just as on the cool stone
Of the spring, the water
Opens a wide flash of foam,
So is the smile of your face,
Lovely one.
Lovely one,
With delicate hands and slender feet
Like a silver pony,
Walking, flower of the world,
Thus I see you,
Lovely one.
Lovely one,
With a nest of copper entangled
On your head, a nest
The coloUr of dark honey
Where my heart burns and rests,
Lovely one.
Lovely one,
Your eyes are too big for your face,
Your eyes are too big for the earth.
There are countries, there are rivers,
In your eyes,
My country is your eyes,
I walk through them,
They light the world
Through which I walk,
Lovely one.
Lovely one,
Your breasts are like two loaves made
Of grainy earth and golden moon,
Lovely one.
Lovely one,
Your waist,
My arm shaped it like a river when
It flowed a thousand years through your sweet body,
Lovely one.
Lovely one,
There is nothing like your hips,
Perhaps earth has
In some hidden place
The curve and the fragrance of your body,
Perhaps in some place,
Lovely one.
Lovely one, my lovely one,
Your voice, your skin, your nails,
Lovely one, my lovely one,
Your being, your light, your shadow,
Lovely one,
All that is mine, lovely one,
All that is mine, my dear,
When you walk or rest,
When you sing or sleep,
When you suffer or dream,
Always,
When you are near or far,
Always,
You are mine, my lovely one,
Always.

Lovely Cruise
By: johnathan baham
1977
Drink it up, this ones for you
Its been a lovely cruise
Im sorry its ending, oh its sad, but its true
Honey, its been a lovely cruise
Chorus:
These moments were left with
May you always remember
These moments are shared by few
Theres wind in our hair and theres water in our shoes
Honey, its been a lovely cruise
-- spoken: so lets cruise darlin
Chorus:
Ohhh, these moments were left with
May you always remember
These moments are shared by few
And those harbor lights, lord, theyre coming into view
Well bid our farewells much too soon
So drink it up, this ones for you
Honey, its been a lovely cruise
Yeah baby, its been a lovely cruise
Oh darlin, its been a lovely cruise

Lovely, Lovely
Lovely lovely,
colored in black,
Lovely lovely,
On its way back,
Lovely lovely,
Finding its snack,
Lovely lovely;
With its pack,
The lovely lovely,
The irony of its name,
The fear it puts,
Is but nothing to its looks,
Lovely lovely,
Colored in black......

The Tourist from Syracuse
One of those men who can be a car salesman or a tourist from Syracuse or a hired assassin.
-- John D. MacDonald
You would not recognize me.
Mine is the face which blooms in
The dank mirrors of washrooms
As you grope for the light switch.
My eyes have the expression
Of the cold eyes of statues
Watching their pigeons return
From the feed you have scattered,
And I stand on my corner
With the same marble patience.
If I move at all, it is
At the same pace precisely
As the shade of the awning
Under which I stand waiting
And with whose blackness it seems
I am already blended.
I speak seldom, and always
In a murmur as quiet
As that of crowds which surround
The victims of accidents.
Shall I confess who I am?
My name is all names, or none.
I am the used-car salesman,
The tourist from Syracuse,
The hired assassin, waiting.
I will stand here forever
Like one who has missed his bus --
Familiar, anonymous --
On my usual corner,
The corner at which you turn
To approach that place where now
You must not hope to arrive.

On hearts motherland
Where a people

Just because theyre dark n lovely

Terror strikes again
Just because theyre dark n lovely

Dark n lovely
The whole planets watchin
And the sun God is watchin, too

Bartering Lines
Hold me up hold me down
Leave me in the withering pines
Steal my love steal my kisses
Take em to the bartering lines
Ten cents up two bucks down
Shit it out and turn it into fuel
Three bucks shy
Leave it on the table till somebody else with moneys got a use
Spinnin so hard
I cant stand
Shadow of a shadowy man
Hold me up hold my hand
The treasures that she misses make the man
Ten cents up two bucks down
Shit it out and turn it into fuel
Three bucks shy
Leave it on the table till somebody else with moneys got a use
So hold me up tie me down
Leave me in the withering pines
Steal my love steal my kisses
Reviewuate the differences in life
Ten cents up two bucks down
Shit it out and turn it into fuel
Three bucks shy
Leave it on the table till somebody else with moneys
Repeat

A Bawdy to My Mistress' Landscape in 17th Century Style
A rather lovely hilly place
resides below her lovely face
and beyond that, a lovely valley
reveals a fertile grove that’s pally

Friday was Atlanta. That was fifteen bucks. Once a month, we made a six hundred mile trip from Indianapolis down to Atlanta, and at fifteen dollars, by the time you feed yourself and buy gasoline, you're minus about ten bucks.
If you don't like the president, it costs you 90 bucks to fly to Washington to picket. If you don't like the governor, it costs you 60 bucks to fly to Albany to picket. If you don't like me, 90 cents.

Your Dwelling Place
How lovely is your dwelling place
Will you let me in and give me a space?
It must be great and wonderful
You make all things beautiful
I want to be where you are
I know it is not so far
I only have to hear you say
Come..be with me and stay...
Oh..how lovely, is your dwelling place..my God

Zig Zags Rolling Another One
She came home today from her vacation with an attitude
Told me she was leaving me for good
Said her love had died since she’d been gone
Now it was time for her to be moving on….
Then she asked me for the car keys and fifty bucks
Twenty five years of marriage and all she wanted
was fifty bucks and the keys to the car…
She won’t get far…

The Beautiful Sea
The sea is such a beautiful place
The water brings life to the human race
The water is so blue and white
The waves come and splash like dynamite
The dolphins swimming and playing so free
The little fishes eating plankton in the sea
The sharks waiting for the day
When the seal comes and he catches it pray
The sea is such a lovely place to be
The lovely view from your balcony
The sweet breeze blowing across your face
The sea is clearly the best place
