Shallow Grave
When I fall in endless sleep
I hope that I'll be buried deep
Let me be the one that fortune favours
Even good children got shallow graves
Throw another clown to the lions
Throw another Joan on the blaze
Cast me away on the cruel calm ocean
and leave me for days and days and days and days and days
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
I won't lie, I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Bless the poor 'cos like the rich
They all end up in a ditch
In this world of fools and knaves
Even good children got shallow graves
The tinker, the tailor, the fabulous five
Nobody gets out of this alive
Chorus
Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Dig me down, dig me down, dig me down deep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave

The Dreamers
Black eyed ravens
They spiral down
They tilt his head back
To the flame filled sunset
Raise their guns high
As the darken falls
These are the days boys
Shallow man
Shallow man (shallow man) and they
Eats in the doorways with his head inclined
And hes always in decline
No-one hears anymore
So he shrinks as they ride
Under vermillion skies
So it goes (so it goes)
Just a searcher (so it goes)
Lonely soul (so it goes)
The last of the dreamers (so it goes)
Shallow man
Shallow man
Speaks to the shadows
Moves his trembling hands
And hes always a little late
For the dawning of the day
So it goes (so it goes)
Just a searcher (so it goes)
Lonely soul (so it goes)
The last of the dreamers (so it goes)
(so it goes) just a searcher
(so it goes) lonely soul
(so it goes) the last of the dreamers (so it goes)
(so it goes) just a searcher
(so it goes) lonely soul
(so it goes) the last of the dreamers (so it goes)
(so it goes)
(so it goes)
(so it goes)
(so it goes)

Shallow Days...
well, there are
shallow days, nothing deep
something for my
feet,
above me the sun
one and only one sun
just the sun and my head
and the shallow waters
on my toes
and the noon time walk
when everyone is as usual
having lunch, and
my toes get wet and i
am making meanings
on the shallow waters
the body in the middle of
this air, the hands are like
eagles flying. the fingers are
turning into feathers

The Moon Within Me
there it was..the moon
lying in the shallow rain water
a shaky moon..never
very sure of itself
what would happen to this moon....
i thought.....tomorrow
when the sun would drink off this shallow
what would happen to this moon tomorrow
ooh.....silly fellow
the moon would be safe up above..actually...
actually that was'nt the question in my mind
it was the astonishment that the scene left behind
the milky white moon was milky white
even when lying in that dirty shallow state
like i soppose the ' GOD ' in me....even
even inspite of the dirty shallow within me

Shallow Are My Nights
Shallow are my nights.
A smothering of wrongs...
Has come to contaminate,
My will to do things right!
And for what reasons,
Should I hold onto standards gone?
Where is my quality of life?
Dreams I treasured to fulfill,
Have made me feel...
I don't belong!
My strength to maintain them...
Seems like a song I've sung.
I no longer care to even hum!
Shallow are my nights.
A smothering of wrongs...
Has come to contaminate,
My will to do things right!
Trashed are my steps.
To place them at my best.
A process once I refused as disrespect.
Now I see,
Less than mediocrity.
Is more than enough...
Those conditioned with this mindset will accept.
Shallow are my nights.
And a Sun once bright I gazed with delight...
Leaves me with a warmth,
I have come to find irritating.
Shallow are my nights.
With a lust I seek from the gutters!

In An Anonymous Week
If I am not beautiful, nobody really has interests
Or love; and I am quite shallow,
The pittance of an unreturned dove:
You know, you know- all of our graves or quite
Shallow, too- like animal graves,
Like animals shoes; and this is what I have been doing,
Digging up shallow tubs of earth, throwing dirt
Over my shoulders like a dirty curse, and doing it
Without appeasing anyone in the eye;
If I should have to die, If I should have to die, let it
Be little animal tears for me, and distant cars,
And distant echoes of somnolent feet; you know,
I am not pretty, and the way the earth moves, I shall
Be dead in an anonymous week.

Do Not Stay On The Deepest Part Of The River
lest you get drowned
or be taken hostage by the
monster
join with us
friends of the shallow waters
we are wading
and laughing and
filtering colors
on the prism
we are kids on the shallow waters
our chins on the stone
our minds still dreaming

A shallow heart
Shallow is the heart
That wears it's tears and smiles
That courts each wind of chance
In fleeting breaths
Undressed upon a rude stage
Shallow is the heart
That waltzes in the dark
And light
Who keeps a brute amused
With brutishe charms
And brittle lies
Shallow is the heart
That weaves a web
To catcha star
And holds the ghost soul
In it's gaze but for a while
Then beats a slow retreat
Murmurs and regurgitates
Upon it's core
That stops a mighty throng
With piercing cries
And stops the clocks in midst of chimes
Til heard no more

Shallow: Sir Hugh, persuade me not; I will make a Star-Chamber matter of it: if he were twenty Sir John Falstaffs, he shall not abuse Robert Shallow, Esquire.
Slender: In the county of Gloucester, justice of peace and Coram.

Strength of man
The strength of man is not found in his hands.
A hand is equal in strength to a salesman's shallow stand.
The man who is strong with or without hands is
The man that will not drown when put on shallow ground.

Recruiting Campaign
I often wondered,
If those who were shallow,
Knew it.
And if their obsession with self,
Smothered from the suffocating.
And if they could do that to themselves,
Why has the number of them increased...
With such a self serving done?
As if to another one...
The one self obsessive...
Is the one having the fun,
At someone else's expense.
It seems as if being shallow,
Is on a very successful recruiting campaign.
And no one is paying anyone,
To pump up the hype!
It all has become part...
Of a society hopeful that what is done,
Maintains to produce gains...
With an image that sustains.

Heel On A Shovel
i'm diggin' you a shallow grave
an to the sun your face i'll raise
i'm diggin' you a shallow grave
one hundred buzzards buzzin'
i seen death hangin' from the tallest tree
eyes closed no lookin' back at me
ye they came an took him in the night
the one who kissed em was greed
o everyone will see
an everyone will know
boy you reap what you sow
i'm diggin' you a shallow grave
an on your rotten bones i'll raise
yellow daisies
for my true loves hair
one hundred buzzards buzzin'
i see death runnin' from his majesty
o lord where is the fear in me
in between your praying hands
you hold the skeleton key

First Level Of An Ordinary Conversation
on the shallow waters of laughter
we let go the words, we go with the flow of the first layer of our waters.
wooden boats, hands as rudders and a little emptiness covered
by the lace of sweet nothings, hi, hello, how are you, miss you,
as the feet stamp on something rocky, as the eyes bitter blue,
as our souls should know where to go, sham, spam,
violets are violets, and blue is blue, and red as red,
no implications, no deeper swimming, just a slight touch
here and there, some finishing statements, oh your nice,
you look thinner, losing weight is good, like your hair your nose
shallow, so shallow, there is no force here, no light, glimmer sans,
i look forward to seeing you again.
maybe next year, maybe never. you have become so ordinary.
and you sure, do not understand what i really mean. It is you.

Aquamarine
Aquamarine
All that glitters lies beneath
Deep blue,
Shallow green
I won't let it go
Aquamarine
You're my sexy little daydream
Deep blue,
Shallow green
I don't make it sound
Now there's a dream
Aquamarine
Send it up into the gulf stream
Deep blue,
shallow green
I won't let it go
Now there's a dream
Now there's a dream
Aquamarine

Shallow Halls
In the shallow halls
of hollow fame,
I walk my endless trek
with arms empty open
waiting to beckon
any stranger to my kingdom
where hearts entangle
within loves refuge.
Where smiles are written
within each world,
but no one comes
to seek refuge
within these shallow halls.

The Silent Lover i
PASSIONS are liken'd best to floods and streams:
The shallow murmur, but the deep are dumb;
So, when affection yields discourse, it seems
The bottom is but shallow whence they come.
They that are rich in words, in words discover
That they are poor in that which makes a lover.

Shallow Water
Do fish swim up-river
Why do they make it so hard
So hard on themselves
Do they not know
Down-river is the way to go
Aha, but what is down-river
There is an enemy
He will look for you
When you go
When you leave your home
Unfamiliar territory
Your waters become are shallow
Do not be afraid of the enemy
But take a freind where you go
Do not fear the shallow
