Every kind of peaceful cooperation among men is primarily based on mutual trust and only secondarily on institutions such as courts of justice and police.

In conversion you are not attached primarily to an order, nor to an institution, nor a movement, nor a set of beliefs, nor a code of action - you are attached primarily to a Person, and secondarily to these other things.

Cant Get No Justice
black man
in them poverty chains
cant get no justice
in them sterile white courts.
blue collar man
in them grimy working chains
cant get no justice
in them insulated courts.
freedom man
in them speak out chains
cant get no justice
in them walled off courts.
poor woman, ha!
in them second class chains
cant get no justice
in them man-god courts.
you and me
in them angry tired chains
cant get no justice
in them fictional courts!

At the beginning of the new century, it is the common aspiration of the peoples of the two countries to deepen mutual understanding, enhance trust, develop friendship and strengthen cooperation.
Voices were heard from the United States of America which made it clear that America wanted a peaceful and united Europe as a basis for mutual cooperation.

The time has come for justice at the ballot box, and justice in the courts, and justice in the legislative halls, and justice in the governor's office.

Guatemala Unanswered
Where bad men go free as good women die.
Crying for justice that's never answered.
Their families mourn and loved ones will cry,
Waiting for justice that's never answered.
Raped, cut, bitten, tortured until they die,
Praying for police that never answer.
Gangs ruling the streets without a worry
About the police who never answer
For relatives who come, all those who cry,
Seeking, but never finding their answers
From police who shrug, roll their eyes and sigh,
The police who should have all the answers,
But then, it’s not their daughters who have died.
So the courageous police run and hide

Psalm 129
Will you trust me in the valley deep?
Will you trust me as you lay down to sleep?
Yes I will trust you despite the pain
Yes I will trust you without any gain
Will you trust me in the depths of the sea?
Will you trust me though we may not agree?
Yes I will trust you in the darkest night
Yes I will trust you when I have no sight
Will you trust me when your lost and alone?
Will you trust me when your far from home?
Yes I will trust you when I have lost my way
Yes I will trust you to bring me back one day
Will you trust me that justice is Mine?
Will you trust me to give you new wine?
Yes I will trust you and turn the cheek
Yes I will trust you, your presence I seek

There are perhaps opportunities for greater political cooperation, at least more cooperation than exists now. But there can be no cooperation in the field because every situation is different.

My optimism is not based primarily on the successful march of democracy in recent times but rather is based on the experience of having lived in a fear society and studied the mechanics of tyranny that sustain such a society.

One who lacks a sense of justice lacks certain fundamental attitudes and capacities included under the notion of humanity. Now the moral feelings are admittedly unpleasant, in some extended sense of unpleasant; but there is no way for us to avoid a liability to them without disfiguring ourselves. This liability is the price of love and trust, of friendship and affection, and of devotion to institutions and traditions from which we have benefited and which serve the general interests of mankind... by understanding what it would be like not to have a sense of justice - that it would be to lack part of our humanity too - we are led to accept our having this sense.

Just deserts
I’ve killed before and will again.
I kill for justice not for gain
So many criminals go free
because of their ability.
To hire a lawyer who will try
To make the truth appear a lie
So they escape just punishment.
Although it is self evident
That crafty legal argument
based on some ancient precedent
The merest technicality
persuades the judge to set them free
I’m not constrained by petty rules
and those that are I see as fools
I pursue justice ceaselessly
and do my duty faithfully
And those I deem deserve to die.
The punishment that I apply.
Is merely justice long delayed
I play the part that I have played.
That of the executioner
Or murderer if you prefer.
For many years without remorse
And I will carry on of course.
I’ve killed before and will again
As long as criminals obtain.
Immunity they don’t deserve
a fact I frequently observe.
In courts of law. Guilty men go free.
Blind justice can depend on me.
To disregard such foolishness
I am completely pitiless.
Though self appointed I redress
injustice with some small success.
I operate in secrecy
It is a prime necessity.
You do not need to know my name
I have no wish for worldly fame.
I take my duties seriously.
and that’s reward enough for me.
I rectify the courts mistakes
a little thought is all it takes.
Each guilty man the courts set free.
I’ll execute eventually.
But I must make it crystal clear
that innocents have naught to fear.
I only punish guilty men
before they can offend again.
Prevention is better than cure
I see no reason to endure.
Acquittals earned by lawyer’s lies.
I think a higher law applies.
If you transgress then you must pay.
There’s nothing more I need to say. http: //blog.myspace.com.poeticpiers
