The Sorrows of the Blind
Pity the sorrows of the poor blind,
For they can but little comfort find;
As they walk along the street,
They know not where to put their feet.
They are deprived of that earthly joy
Of seeing either man, woman, or boy;
Sad and lonely through the world they go,
Not knowing a friend from a foe:
Nor the difference betwixt day and night,
For the want of their eyesight;
The blind mother cannot see her darling boy,
That was once her soul's joy.
By day and night,
Since she lost her precious sight;
To her the world seems dark and drear,
And she can find no comfort here.
She once found pleasure in reading books,
But now pale and careworn are her looks.
Since she has lost her eyesight,
Everything seems wrong and nothing right.
The face of nature, with all its beauties and livery green,
Appears to the blind just like a dream.
All things beautiful have vanished from their sight,
Which were once their heart's delight.
The blind father cannot see his beautiful child, nor wife,
That was once the joy of his life;
That he was wont to see at morn and night,
When he had his eyesight.
All comfort has vanished from him now,
And a dejected look hangs on his brow.
Kind Christians all, both great and small,
Pity the sorrows of the blind,
They can but little comfort find;
Therefore we ought to be content with our lot,
And for the eyesight we have got,
And pray to God both day and night
To preserve our eyesight;
To be always willing to help the blind in their distress,
And the Lord will surely bless
And guard us by night and day,
And remember us at the judgment day.

Eyesight To The Blind
Well well well well...
You were talkin\' bout\'chor woman
I wish to God that\'choo could see mine
You were talkin\' bout\'chor woman
I wish to God honey... that\'choo could see mine
Every time that little girl start to loving... she bring eyesight to the blind
Lord... her daddy musta been a millionaire... \'cause I can tell by the way she walk
Her daddy musta been a millionaire... \'cause I can tell by the way she walk
Every time she start loving... the deaf and dumb begin to talk
Yeah... you know what they say
I remember one Friday morning
We was lying down across your bed
Man in the bathroom was dying... eyes were sad and I stroked his head
And I said... Lordy... ain\'t she pertty... and the whole state knows shes fine... yeah
And every every every time she start to loving... she bring eyesight to the blind
What a woman I got here
Lean on me baby... lean on me
Oh...
Yes... I declare she pretty and the whole state knows she\'s fine
Man... I declare she pretty... Lordy Lordy I declare she\'s fine
Every every every every time she starts to loving... she bring eyesight to the blind

We should trust more to our eyesight than to our ears.
Whatever you may look like, marry a man your own age. As your beauty fades, so will his eyesight.

Sir, Say No More
Sir, say no more.
Within me 't is as if
The green and climbing eyesight of a cat
Crawled near my mind's poor birds.

You are the top story of my life
You are my soul and you are my wife
You are the top story of my life
You ride with me on love's joyride
You are my heart's enormous pride
You are the sweet smell of my soul
You help me to reach my high goal
You are the rhythm of my poetry
You are my life's sweetest reverie
You are the moon of my dark night
You are the joy of my eyesight
You are the music of my song
In your tender arms I belong

The First Arrival Of Love In My Heart...
of the many people who got out of
the church
that Sunday evening
of 1985
despite the dimming light
of the passing years
my failing eyesight considered
it was only you, just you, and
nothing but you
that i clearly saw....

Life begins at 40 - but so do fallen arches, rheumatism, faulty eyesight, and the tendency to tell a story to the same person, three or four times.

My heart's queen
On time's path I am walking day and night;
My ear is alert. Keen is my eyesight.
Now I wonder if I had time-machine
I would go faster and find my heart's queen.
Where are you, baby? How many miles away?
It's getting late. All my hairs are turning gray.
It just makes me sad I am still a half.
So my thoughts are becoming songs of love.
What are you up to? Won't you walk towards me?
Baby if I were God I would just say be.
Things are very complex and hard for us.
Problems engulf me like an octopus.
If I knew magic or knew telepathy
It would be fantastic and easy for me.

First Love
I ne'er was struck before that hour
With love so sudden and so sweet,
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.
My face turned pale as deadly pale.
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked, what could I ail?
My life and all seemed turned to clay.
And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my eyesight quite away,
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday.
I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start --
They spoke as chords do from the string,
And blood burnt round my heart.
Are flowers the winter's choice?
Is love's bed always snow?
She seemed to hear my silent voice,
Not love's appeals to know.
I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before.
My heart has left its dwelling-place
And can return no more

Older Age, Basho In Mind
.
for Nimal
Road gets narrower
eyesight dims,
even signs wave
Basho's ghost
guides with ink,
HERE NOT HERE
Can't ever cross
Rainbow Bridge
Beneath it, though,
a billet of mist

Will my admiration of E. E. Barnard's incredible eyesight, the Many Worlds insight of Dr. Everett,
Robinson Jeffers explaining our life,
Trace a mark?
Doubtful.
There shall be others to grip the truth.
I can't wait.

Light O my Light - Original by Rabindranath Tagore
Light O my Light!
The world is full of Light!
Light has washed my eyesight!
I love the Light!
Light dances near my soul; Light is so cute!
Light makes sound of music in my heart’s lute!
Sky wakes up and wind blows!
Everyone laughs of course!
In the current of Light
Hundreds of butterflies sail themselves!
In the ripples of Light
All the creepers dance in God’s names!
There is gold in the clouds in this morning!
Countless gems are out there O the best King!
Even leaves are laughing!
Music overflowing!

When She Comes Home
When she comes home again! A thousand ways
I fashion, to myself, the tenderness
Of my glad welcome: I shall tremble--yes;
And touch her, as when first in the old days
I touched her girlish hand, nor dared upraise
Mine eyes, such was my faint heart's sweet distress.
Then silence: And the perfume of her dress:
The room will sway a little, and a haze
Cloy eyesight--soulsight, even--for a space:
And tears--yes; and the ache here in the throat,
To know that I so ill deserve the place
Her arms make for me; and the sobbing note
I stay with kisses, ere the tearful face
Again is hidden in the old embrace.
