Miniature trees
In shallow trays-
Pinched,
Pruned,
Sheared,
Twisted,
Wired,
To give them a shape-
Windswept,
Erect,
To
Create
An illusion
In many other ways.
In the name
Of beauty
And aesthetics,
Why interfere
With
Nature,
Let them be trees,
As nature intended
Them to be.
Trees
Have been worshipped
From
Prehistoric times,
They belong
In forests
And not dwarfed,
In a shallow tray
On a terrace.

Campaigning For Him to Fail
Aggressively,
They are campaigning for him to fail.
Without comprehending...
He is the only one left,
Keeping the creditors off their backs.
He is the only one,
Who has not...
Traded his wisdom for deceit.
To line his pockets to get them fat!
He is the only one,
Who has not...
Chased delusion.
With the hopes of seeing it,
Defeated.
He is the only one,
Who has not...
Succumbed to fantasy!
Or allowed himself,
To grieve over trivia!
For personal gain.
To see himself,
Over others succeed.
And yet...
Aggressively,
They are campaigning for him to fail.
Without comprehending...
He is the only one left,
To prevail in their behave.
But they are too blind.
They see him alone.
As someone alone trying to shine!

Pretending Trees
The trees take pretend trips
When we are not there
To cut them down or burn them up.
They imagine rising into the air
On moonlit romps without gravity's grip,
And mate like snakes, entwined,
Going as high as stars,
Looking down upon cities
And their captive kind,
Crying out for us to let them go,
To let them entwine without the cars,
The noise or the neon glow.
But their desire is doomed
Because what they get is pruned.

While waiting for you
I sit on this desk like a schoolboy
Waiting
I tap my fingers i keep my feet
Underneath
Nobody is watching
I am looking
Outside from here
The green football field
The trees pruned like boys
With new haircut
The chapel,
It is where I pray everyday
Before going to the usual university quibbles
Two hours passed
Still there is no you
Or your shadow
Sometimes I think
Most of the time I don’t
This relationship
What am I to you?
That you should make me wait?
I take my notes
And begin writing
Who am i?
I quit this chemistry
I am ready for philosophy

A Contrast
outside there is this old brown short dog barking
to a stranger
three motorbikes are making a lot of noise
on the city street
some children, one bigger than the other two small children
look like they are quarelling over some toys
the trees ligning the road are pruned and some stacks
of leaves are left to dry
on this hot noonday
then a brownout: the computer shuts down
blipping and blipping for a warning to save

C Is For Conifers
Most with cones for seeds, most with needles for leaves
C is for conifers, my kind of trees
Large junipers and fir, spruce, cedars and pines
C is for conifers, more then five hundred kinds
If you see a Christmas tree or a stack of newspapers or a 2x4 frame of a house
It's probably made from pine trees and pine trees are conifers, that's what this song is about
Or if you see a plant in the shape of an elephant, or in the shape of a dog
It's probably a shrub, a conifer shrub pruned into that shape by someone
Most with cones for seeds, most with needles for leaves
C is for conifers, my kind of trees
Large junipers and fir, spruce, cedars and pines
C is for conifers, more then five hundred kinds
Spoken: There are so many different kinds of conifer trees.
This is just a few of them: Spruce,
Hemlocks, larch, cyprus, juniper,
Fir, Douglas fir, cedar, yew,
Pine, the dwarf conifer,
And the great California sequoia redwood.
Most with cones for seeds, most with needles for leaves
C is for conifers, my kind of trees
Large junipers and fir, spruce, cedars and pines
C is for conifers, more then five hundred kinds

The Garden!
The garden that is made,
With pedicure turf,
Smooth as carpets,
With suffering leaves,
Rows of dwarfs,
Perfectly pruned,
Heightened trees,
Architecture,
And golden age,
Ponds are there,
With fountains and fish,
birds do sing,
with the choked throat,
animals do exist,
sculptured and painted,
very clean earth,
no worms found,
Chemical breeze,
Cloudy thoughts,
Sat on the benches,
Picture perfect,
The garden is made!

Pruning Flowering Gums
One summer day, along the street,
Men pruned the gums
To make them neat.
The tender branches, white with flowers,
Lay in the sun
For hours and hours,
And every hour they grew more sweet,
More honey-like
Until the street
Smelt like a hive, withouten bees.
But still the gardeners
Lopped the trees.
Then came the children out of school,
Noisy and separate
As their rule Of being is. The spangled trees
Gave them one heart:
Such power to please
Had all the flowering branches strown
Around for them
To make their own.
Then such a murmuring arose
As made the ears
Confirm the nose
And give the lie to eyes. For hours
Child bees hummed
In the honey flowers.
They gathered sprigs and armfuls. Some
Ran with their fragrant
Burdens home,
And still returned; and after them
Would drag great boughs.
Some stripped a stem
Of rosy flowers and played with these.
Never such love
Had earthly trees
As these young creatures gave. By night,
The treasured sprays
Of their delight
Were garnered every one. The street
Looked, as the council liked it, neat.
