Nearer my God to Thee

Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee
E'en though it be a cross
That raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Tho' like a wanderer,
The sun gone down,
Darkness be over me,
My rest a stone,
Yet in my dreams I'll be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

There let the way appear,
Steps unto heaven;
All that Thou sendest me
In mercy be given,
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Then with my waking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Or if, on joyful wing
Cleavihg the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot,
Upward I fly,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Nearer, my God, to Thee.

Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross
That raiseth me:
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God! to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Though, like the wanderer,
The sun gone down,
Darkness be over me,
My rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Then let the way appear
Steps unto heaven;
All that Thou sendest me

They lost their way

A beggar is nearer to God
than a Monk, ego-less.
A bonded one is nearer to God
than a master, being not possessive..
A child is nearer to God
than an erudite, unprejudiced.
The so called ones lost their way to God.

Though words may change something do not

Her husband was a bedswerver.
A braggart who did not deserve her.
But she herself a bellibone.
Had she but known. Had she but Known

his character before they wed
then she would not have graced his bed.
He was smock sniffer through and through.
The vows he made were all untrue.

He treats her as a draggletail.
Her protests all to no avail.
Which leaves her with no other choice
but file the papers for divorce.

And this she does successfully
He has to pay alimony
She lives alone now happily
At his expense completely free.

She will not be again redmod
A beaten child still fears the rod.
No longer foolishly naïve
she believes all men deceive.

Glossary of obsolete words

Bedswerver unfaithful husband

Bellibone a sweet and innocent woman.

Draggletail a prostitute

Smock sniffer a philander.

Redmod Hastily.

Nearer to Me Than A Moontide Swoon

Nearer to me than a moontide swoon,
And dearer to me than a dream.
She is fairer to me than a spring's full bloom;
Nearer to me than a moontide swoon.

The winds of dark winter may howl soon
And still could not chill her bright sunny beam;
Nearer to me than a moontide swoon,
And dearer to me than a dream.

Slip Slidin Away

Words & music by paul simon
Slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
You know the nearer your destination
The more youre slip slidin away
I know a man
He came from my home town
He wore his passion for his woman
Like a thorny crown
He said delores
I live in fear
My love for yous so overpowering
Im afraid that I will disappear
Slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
You know the nearer your destination
The more youre slip slidin away
I know a woman
Became a wife
These are the very words she uses
To describe her life
She said a good day
Aint got no rain
She said a bad days when I lie in bed
And think of things that might have been
Slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
You know the nearer your destination
The more youre slip slidin away
And I know a fa-ther
Who had a son
He longed to tell him all the reasons
For the things hed done
He came a long way
Just to explain
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping
Then he turned around and headed home again
Slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
You know the nearer your destination
The more youre slip slidin away
God only knows
God makes his plan
The informations unavailable
To the mortal man
We work our jobs
Collect our pay
Believe were gliding down the highway
When in fact were slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
You know the nearer your destination
The more youre slip slidin away
Slip slidin away
You know the nearer your destination
The more youre slip slidin away
Mmm...

The Island

Alive in this island of seclusion
As my fearful eyes witness
The maelstrom multitude of the mighty waves
Placing my nation in deep peril
The tides of tyranny the tides of terror smashing into the shores
Tide after tide draws nearer and nearer out to destroy what I live for
Freedom and fraternity, peace and serenity
All in this island I adore
The waves ever-nearer, are out to fill
My island with things I abhor

With a red nose, --
The longer she stands,
The shorter she grows.

No caldron broths…

This madness has me by the balls
It rocks me rolls me on all fours
In her petticoat; furors…
Loves entanglement, has no faults?
No culpability's, no caldron broths…
No angel—devils disguised as moths.
Love is a heat sensing, system.
A viper's nest... the colder one feels
The more is disgorged, the more
It is in a deep disequilibrium…
The more it repeals, conceals true ideals.
Loves entanglement, has no faults?
No culpability's, no caldron broths…
No angel—devils disguised as moths.
Love is just a heat sensing, system.
The more madness has me by the balls
It rocks me rolls me on all fours
In her petticoat; furors…
