And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,

When We Lived In Lang Lang 'For Ed

I often think about my childhood day
Long before they built the South Gippsland highway
On gum tree by our house old magpie sang
As shades of night went creeping o'er Lang Lang.

When I was seven years or thereabout
Before mum and dad brought me with them to Richmond south
To Richmond south one hundred kilometres away
From Lang Lang of my early childhhood day.

My father yielded to the City's call
He sold our farmlet little cot and all
A decision he never did regret
Though childhood memories linger with me yet.

A dairy farmer bought our piece of land
And walls of old cottage are all that stand
And age has claimed old gum where magpie sang
In our backyard when we lived in Lang Lang.

Tagay

Tagay
tagay
tagay lang
huwag mo lang kalimutan
ika'y mamulutan.

Hayan,
ang pusit
at karne ng baboy na inihaw
may toyo at kalamansing
sinamahan pa
ng siling labuyo
sige na,
mamulutan ka.

Tagay
tagay
tagay na
hayaan mo lang ang buwan
na magtago sa ulap
basta't tumagay
tagay
tagay ka lang.

Pusong Sabik

Ngunit di man lang kita nahawakan

Christmas Auld Lang Syne

When mistletoe and tinsel glow
Paint a yuletide valentine
Back home I go to those I know
For a christmas auld lang syne
And as we gather round the tree
Our voices all combine
In sweet accord to thank our lord
For a christmas auld lang syne
When sleigh bells ring and choirs sing
And the childrens faces shine
With each new toy we share their joy
With a christmas auld lang syne
We sing his praise this day of days
And pray next year this time
Well all be near to share the cheer
Of a christmas auld lang syne
In sweet accord to thank our lord
For a christmas auld lang syne

Hinay Hinay Lang

usa ka higayon
usa ka ginhawa
usa ka tikang

hinay hinay lang
ang pagdawat
sa karon

ilabay na ang
gahapon og
ayaw lang sa
dawata ang
ugma

lisod ang tawong
magbagood

daghang mangahulog
kay dili na mahawiran
sa iyang gagmayng
mga kamot

dili mo mahakop ang
tanan
dili mo na magakos
ang dako og
karaan kaayong
kahoy

og busa mas
maayo pag
molingkod ka
na lang una
sa iyang silong
og manghaw-as
sa mga dili
na nimo
kinahanglan

tan-awa ang
mga gamot sa
kahoy
pamatia ang
kalinaw sa
iyang mga dahon
batia ang kabugnaw
sa iyang landong

karon
ang pamalandong
karon
ang paghinuklog
niining
mga kamatooran

usa ka higayon
usa ka ginhawa
usa ka tikang
lang una
hinay-hinay lang

The Elphin Nourrice

I heard a cow low, a bonnie cow low,
An' a cow low down in yon glen;
Lang, lang will my young son greet,
Or his mither bid him come ben.

I heard a cow low, a bonnie cow low,
An' a cow low down in yon fauld;
Lang, lang will my young son greet,
Or is mither take him frae cauld.

Waken, Queen of Elfan,
An hear your Nourrice moan.
O moan ye for your meat,
Or moan ye for your fee,
Or moan ye for the ither bounties
That ladies are wont to gie?

I moan na for my meat,
Nor yet for my fee,
But I mourn for Christened land--
It's there I fain would be.

O nurse my bairn, Nourice, she says,
Till he stan' at your knee,
An' ye's win hame to Christen land,
Whar fain it's ye wad be.

O keep my bairn, Nourice,
Till he gang by the hauld,
An' ye's win hame to your young son,
Ye left in four nights auld.

Que Ca Ne Finisse Jamais

Jamais, jamais, j'voulais que ca n'finisse jamais
Je laisse passer un peu de temps
J'oublie mes sentiments
Jamais

The Task Every Morning Before Breakfast

maybe it will just be once
every dawn

or just once
every weekend

or if you ask
may just once a month

because the body maybe
is so exhausted

but no
i will not stop

i will still do it
twice or even five times every morning

even if the body is tired
even if you do not like doing it anymore

it is delicious
it is wonderful

it is as though i had just an ejaculation
it is as though I've seen heaven

so here i am with this craft again
even if you are no longer around

writing poems religiously
every morning.

bisag kausa lang sa
matag kaadlawon

bisag kausa na lang
sa matag semana

o kon mohangyo ka
bisag kausa na lang sa matag bulan

kay basin og kapoy na kaayo
ang lawas

dili mahimo
buhaton ko lang gayod gihapon

sa matag buntag
kaduha kalima pa gani

bisag kapoy na kaayo ang lawas
bisag dili na nimo gusto

lami man god
mora kog magawsan og kadaghan

lami man god
mora kog kakitag langit

Cris:
Dapat lang magtiwala ng lubos
Lea:
Sa sarili't husay mo
Both:
Ibigay lahat ng makakaya mo
Cris:
Lea:
Kahit hindi mo pa panahon
Ngayon pa lang
Both:
Kahit hindi mo pa panahon
Ngayon pa lang tagumpay ka na
Tagumpay ka!

Das Bleibende

Solang noch der Tatrawind leicht
slowakische Blumen bestreicht,
so lang wirken Mädchen sie ein
in trauliche Buntstickerei'n.
Solang noch im bayrischen Wald
die Axt im Morgengraun hallt,
so lang auch der Einsame sitzt,
der Gott und die Heiligen schnitzt.
Solang auf ligurischer Fahrt
das Meer seine Fischer gewahrt,
so lang wird am Strand es schaun
die spitzenklöppelnden Fraun.
Ihr Völker der Erde, mich rührt
das Bleibende, das ihr vollführt.
Ich selbst, ohne Volk, ohne Land,
stütz' nun meine Stirn in die Hand.

Anak

Kahit malayo man si MAMA,

For my son TJ..

Ang Balak Isip Usa Ka Lusok Nga Nangka

Alang kanako ang balak mora pod
og usa ka lusok sa nangka.
Tam-is. Sinaw.
Bus-ok. Hanoy

nga mosulod
sa akong tilaok.
Walay sabod.

Apan ayaw lang hinumdumi
ang mga tagok
sa mga nangka nga giabis
ug gihimong utan
nga tinunoan.

Ayaw lang hunahunaa
kadtong imong nalimtan
og putos sa sako sa semento-
kadtong nangalata kay nasamdan

sa pagpaak sa mga piyangaw
ug mao nga ginuka ug
gikabahong ug gisulong
sa mga langaw ug nangahulog,
wala gani tagad mangahinog
tungod sa imong kadanghag.
Kalimti na lang kadto.
Ayaw gub-a ang imong adlaw.
