If you reach for the highest of ideals, you shouldn't settle for less than the stars.

Settle Down My Boy
Settle down, an eat your peas and gravy, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Stop wasting all your time with running around the town
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Knuckle down and find a job and take some responsibility
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
The futures something you should be thinking about
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Look around for a wife to start a family, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Listen toy our father and hell tell you the same as me
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Your words would go in one ear and out the other side
Dont say my head was empty and I had things to hide
And you better put something away for your old age
So settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down uh huh huh

I Shouldn't … but, I do.
I like the way you look at me,
Every time you look at me...
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I like the way you talk to me,
When you say the things you shouldn't be...
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I liked the feeling of your company,
When you'd carve out some time for me...
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I like the sound of your voice,
Pulling at me, like I have no choice,
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
Thoughts of you are frequent for me,
Though, I try not to think of you.
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I can't help that I feel this way,
Believe me, it's much to my dismay,
There wasn't
But,
NOW
There is a
YOU...
If you only knew,
How much I try,
How often I fail..
When I try
To try
Not to think of
YOU.

Settle Down
Album: Eternal (2001)
[Chorus]
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down with me, babe
Settle down
Would you like a house on the hill
Overlooking the ocean side
Tell me, would you like that baby
Or how about a high-rise apartment
In Manhattan on the east side
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me, baby
[Chorus]
We could take a jet plane all the way to Spain
Just to buy you a wedding ring
Tell me, would you like that baby
Oh, talk to me girl
We could get married on Christmas day
On the shores of Montego Bay
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me
If you're ready
Only if you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Tell me if you're ready, ready yeah
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down, settle down
Settle down
I'm not trying to buy your love
Money ain't in it
You can't put a rpice on love
Tell me if I'm worthy of
Worthy of you're hand
Girl let's start making plans
You're shining like a star above
You're the light of my life
Oh girl, be my wife
Settle down baby
Oh but first
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
I wanna know if you're ready, tell me baby
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down babe
Settle down
Ooh
oh, whoa
Oooh
No no no no no no no
Yeah yes
Oh settle down babe
Settle down
You tell me when you're ready
(I'm ready, I'm ready)
Do you think you're ready
(I, yes I am baby)
Please tell me
(You already know)
When you're ready
(Yes I'm ready)
Then We can settle down
(Settle down babe)
Settle down
(I'm ready)
I wanna know if you're ready
Oh wee, oh it feels like you're ready babe
I can tell if you're ready
We need to settle down babe

Perpetuum Mobile
Between people's ideals and their fulfillment
There will always exist a difference in level,
Which surpasses the highest waterfall.
Nevertheless we can use rationally
This fall of expectations by building on it
Something like a hydroelectric power station.
With the energy obtained this way,
Even if we can't do more than light our cigarettes,
Still, this is quite something,
As while we smoke,
We can seriously
Think of even greater ideals.

The Rare Flower
There's beauty in such a sacred structure, oh,
That thing that is nurtured and loved.
It's quite an occasion.
It's driving me crazy.
I'm not allowed to touch on lust.
I've gotta get a hold of myself.
I mustn't admit it.
I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't
Pick the rare flower.
I don't see why I shouldn't,
Well I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't
Pick the rare flower.
Whoooo
Walking in a Paradise or Eden,
Whoa, temptation:
Give me one second to succumb.
It's calling me.
With a menacing whisper of,
Magic offer a-charming me./Magical world enchanting me.
Why I've gotta get a hold of myself,
You see, but it ain't easy.
I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't
Pick the rare flower.
I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't,
I don't see why I shouldn't
Pick the rare flower.
Whoooo

Ill Settle For You
(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
Every star has a twinkle
Every palm has a wrinkle
Every leaf comes from a tree
I would agree
So if everything is made up of two
And the sky really needs the blue
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Every future has a past
Every first has a last
Every night has a day
Come what may
So if everything is made up of two
Whether it be old or new
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Who wants to be like a sea without a shore
The love just drifting forever more
Every smile has a frown
All you gotta do is turn it upside down
Every house has a door
Of that Im sure
So if everything is made up of two
I think it would be best if you know
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Dont you know, Ill settle for you
Ill settle for you
If I had to settle, baby
Ill settle for you
Dont you know, Ill settle for you

The Ripest Peach
The ripest peach is highest on the tree --
And so her love, beyond the reach of me,
Is dearest in my sight. Sweet breezes, bow
Her heart down to me where I worship now!
She looms aloft where every eye may see
The ripest peach is highest on the tree.
Such fruitage as her love I know, alas!
I may not reach here from the orchard grass.
I drink the sunshine showered past her lips
As roses drain the dewdrop as it drips.
The ripest peach is highest on the tree,
And so mine eyes gaze upward eagerly.
Why -- why do I not turn away in wrath
And pluck some heart here hanging in my path? --
Love's lower boughs bend with them -- but, ah me!
The ripest peach is highest on the tree!

Always Been Your Girl
Don't lie to me, even if it's gonna make me cry
Say what you mean, even if it hurts me deep inside
We've been good friends for years and I hold that dear
But you cannot end this now without giving me the chance to tell how I feel
inside...
So you're seenin' her
What's this, third or second date?
Is it serious?
If it is you're makin' a big mistake
Can you be truthful when you're alone with her and look into her eyes
If you tell me that you DON'T think of me it would come as a surprise
Chorus
Can you tell me that I'm not her?
Say I'm not the whole who completes your world
Who should share your name, who should wear your ring, when I've always been
your girl
Can you tell me I'm not the one, to be the mother of your unborn son?
May not have the time, but there's no denyin' that you feel the same...
'Cuz I've always been your girl
They sung to me
And don't you dare say it's too late
Honestly
You know she's only a passing face
I am your meant to be
Your eternity
Shouldn't settle for anything less
She may have your body but I own your heart, for you to notice your regret
(Chorus)
I am your meant to be
Your eternity
Shouldn't settle for anything less
She may have your body but I own your heart, for you to notice your regret
(Chorus 2x)

Warm Ride
Come to me baby, I got something to say
I been changin your direction evry step of the way
Now I bring emotion and I bring desire
And I bring the potion to set you on fire
I know you need me, there can be no doubt
You got me held inside your love and I cant get out
We must surrender to the powers that be
The angel in you and the devil in me
Warm ride , warm ride , baby just the way you are
Warm ride , warm ride , we can reach the highest star
Now I warn you women, we are two of a kind
And we both know whats coming
We got one thing in mind
I bring the pleasure , satisfaction you learn
And I got the strength to make you burn, baby, burn
Warm ride , warm ride , baby just the way you are
Warm ride , warm ride , we can reach the highest star
Why are we waiting for this love on the rise
And why am I searching for the magic thats in your eyes
We must surrender to the powers that be
The angel in you and the devil in me
Warm ride, warm ride , baby just the way you are
Warm ride, warm ride , we can reach the highest star
(break)
Warm ride , warm ride , baby just the way you are
Warm ride , warm ride , we can reach the highest star
Warm ride ( fade out)

Higher Ground
[Originally by Stevie Wonder]
People keep on learnin'
Soldiers keep on warrin'
World keep on turnin'
Cause it won't be too long
Powers keep on lyin'
While your people keep on dyin'
World keep on turnin'
Cause it won't be too long
I'm so darn glad he let me try it again
Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin
I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then
Gonna keep on tryin'
Till I reach my highest ground
Teachers keep on teachin'
Preachers keep on preachin'
World keep on turnin'
Cause it won't be too long
Oh no
Lovers keep on lovin'
Believers keep on believin'
Sleepers just stop sleepin'
Cause it won't be too long
Oh no
I'm so glad that he let me try it again
Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin
I'm so glad that I know more than I knew then
Gonna keep on tryin'
Till I reach my highest ground...Whew!
Till I reach my highest ground
No one's gonna bring me down
Oh no
Till I reach my highest ground
Don't let nobody bring you down (they'll sho 'nuff try)
God is gonna show you higher ground
He's the only friend you have around

My Messages
Must a poet's word bring forth
a liturgy of high ideals?
Or is it just as important
to speak of how one feels?
Ideals are what we reach for.
We mostly come up short,
but still the reaching's important
which we never should abort.
Still my poet's mind must care
and create the scenes I see,
the world in pain that's everywhere
must be penned by me.
All cannot be rosy
although I wish it were.
And so these words I offer you
make me a messenger.

Q & A of November,2011
what is 'democrative'?
working definition: an adjective modifying nouns of variation in a
sentence within a paragraph or verse in poetry which is a participatory
theme in a book or thesis or poem or an essay or literary genre.
ideals: the highest freedom with responsibilities, reflecting highest
independent and humanistic zone even in time of crisis.it is just
the sparking abstractions!
Sometimes questions are not to be answered but to be provocative
upon the readers.
The multi-disciplinary poet tries to fix things up hower confused they
have been through times.
