If you make a habit of buying things you do not need, you will soon be selling things you do.

Three things make a man rich: Earning and not spending, promising and not doing, buying and not selling.
When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators.

Our Street
In our street, the main street
Running thro' the town,
You see a lot of busy folk
Going up and down:
Bag men and basket men,
Men with loads of hay,
Buying things and selling things
And carting things away.
The butcher is a funny man,
He calls me Dandy Dick;
The baker is a cross man,
I think he's often sick;
The fruiterer's a nice man,
He gives me apples, too;
The grocer says, "Good morning, boy,
What can I do for you?"
Of all the men in our street
I like the cobbler best,
Tapping, tapping at his last
Without a minute's rest;
Talking all the time he taps,
Driving in the nails,
Smiling with his old grey eyes -
(Hush) ... telling fairy tales.

You Can Stir Up Much Havoc
There are things I don't know.
Will you hold me to demands...
I make you understand,
That which I don't know.
There are things you don't know.
And I have no expectations grand...
You will suddenly take command,
To show you do know.
You've come to complicate my life.
And I don't like it.
One bit.
You can stir up much havoc.
Like a habit.
To fit..
Underneath any sentiment.
There are things I don't know.
Will you hold me to demands...
I make you understand,
That which I don't know.
And I don't know,
What you think I should know.
You've come to complicate my life.
And I don't like it.
One bit.
You can stir up much havoc.
Like a habit.
To fit..
Underneath any sentiment,
In me!
You can stir up much havoc.
Like a habit.
To fit..
Underneath any sentiment,
In me!
You've come to complicate my life.
And I don't like it.
One bit.
And this is it.
I think we should admit.
Quit and leave.
You can stir up much havoc.
Like a habit.
I think we should admit.
Quit it and leave.

Twice Becomes a Habit
Doing what we please.
With the selling of our embellishments.
Has come under much scrutiny.
And a call to be precise...
Does not sit too comfortably,
With those irresponsible.
And others n'er do well.
Seeking a laziness to entice.
To abuse this twice becomes a habit.
To keep it fed becomes routine.
Some may see this as discrimination.
Not a justification...
To do away with incompetence.
And those who half accomplish...
What their intentions find difficult to finish.
These days a mediocrity,
Is being ushered from the spotlight.
Success comes with applied effort.
Not from those accepted as nice.
But aren't up to the challenge...
To get things done,
With sacrifice.
To abuse this twice becomes a habit.
To keep it fed becomes routine.
Gone are those days of going through the motions.
And adopting the notion,
Procrastination fascinates those with patience waiting.
Time is not a blind date...
Hoping to approve who shows and comes,
Out of breath with expressed excuses.
And annoying the diligent ones.
That tick-tocking on those clocks have stopped!
To abuse this twice becomes a habit.
To keep it fed becomes routine.
And refusing people like this,
From addressed strict agendas...
Keeps a purpose with direction flourished.
As long as it is understood...
They will always be kept in minds respected.
But their absence is welcomed,
When they are far away from strategic scenes.
Not to demean.
But to accomplish.
'No offense.
But we are here to get things done.
You understand that,
Don't you? '

I'm not sure about the selling part, but I've always found that the things I've worn on tour have moved over to what people wear every day. Sometimes the things I wore in the beginning before I had money were things I put together.

Could It Be
Well I don't know what to say
Because there's truth to what you say
I know it kills you I'm this way
There's something different every day
Could it be I that I never had a chance to grow inside?
Could it be that my habit is to find a place to hide?
Could it be that sometimes I say things just to disagree
Could it be that I'm only being me?
Not easy living in my mind
A little peace is hard to find
My every thought is undermined
By all the history inside
Could it be I that I never had a chance to grow inside?
Could it be that my habit is to find a place to hide?
Could it be that sometimes I say things just to disagree
Could it be that I'm only being me?
I know I hear the words you said
Over and over again
I just can't get them through my head
There's just to many voices
Must be like living with the dead
Waiting for me to begin
To do the things that I have said
And for this I'm sorry
So there's some truth to what you say
Could it be I that I never had a chance to grow inside?
Could it be that my habit is to find a place to hide?
Could it be that sometimes I say things just to disagree
Could it be that I'm only being me?

I Can Dig It
(jim rushing/monty criswell)
You say his memory is a habit that wont let you go Ill help you kick it
If youre looking for a ride on a real smooth road Im your ticket
If youre holding onto seeds you been wanting to sow
If you wanna break ground, Ill break out the hoe
If you want a little garden where some lovin can grow
I can dig it
If you wanna build a fortified house of love I can brick it
Name me something that you want, aint a task to tough
I can get it, yeah I can get it
If youre lookin for a man that can do all that
If you want your broken heart to be your last
If you wanna big hole to bury your past
I can dig it
If youre buying what Im selling just say the word
And Ill roll up my sleeves and baby, Ill get to work
If youre sick and tired of a liar and cheater
If you want a true love til you meet st. peter
A drink from a well where the water is sweeter
I can dig it, yeah I can dig it
I dug that
If youre buying what Im selling just say the word
And Ill roll up my sleeves yeah and baby, Ill get to work
If youre sick and tired of a liar and cheater
If you want a true love til you meet st. peter
A drink from a well where the water is sweeter
I can dig it, yeah I can dig it
Can you dig it, baby?
I can dig it

Sonnet: Undependable Are Men
We think we’re wise, behaving most stupid;
We think we’re fair, yet do things most unfair;
We think we’re great, behaving insipid;
We think we’re seers, yet fail our nails to pare.
We think others are fools by our ignorance;
We run down next but bear not ridicule;
We can’t run but make fun of those who dance;
We can’t ev’n joke or wait just minuscule.
We aren’t perfect yet expect next to be;
We speak big lies but want more honesty;
We make mistakes but treat next cruelly;
We have ‘stone hearts’ and can’t give amnesty.
We speak one thing but do things opposite;
We preach good things, yet can’t change bad habit.

In The Dark
Make me fumble
Make me fall
Make my heart stop and start
To tremble uncontrollably
Let my eyes see fear make desire
Keep those who long apart
Forbid the kiss
And leave us innocent
Of the things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
Make me remember
Make me forget
Make my mind unable
To force the body to do its will
Let it be right for belief and denial
To share a space in the heart and leave us only to imagine
About the things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
Make me pretend
Make me expect
Things can go and come to pass
Without trial or tribulation
Let this life space and time
Leave my body with permanent marks
Faded scars and lines
But not a single impression
Of the things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
Let me be tempted
Let me be torn
But make my thoughts pure and not
Morally corrupt in form
Let us sleep tonight
Let innocence lie in our dreams and secret hearts
With burning desire
A need to know and do
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark
The things some do in the dark

Change Of Habit
(words & music by b. kaye - b. weisman)
If youre in old habits
Set in your old ways
Changes are a-comin
For these are changing days
And if your head is in the sand
While things are goin on
What you need, what you need,
What you need is a change of habit
Now if youre in the habit
To let your temper fly
When you talk with people
Who dont see eye to eye
And if you dont believe it
Theres a newer world ahead
What you need, what you need,
What you need is a change of habit
A change of habit, a change of outlook
A change of heart, youll be all right
The halls of darkness
Have doors that open
Its never too late
To see the light
So if youre in the habit
Of putting people down
Just because theyre different
From the wrong side of town
Well, dont count on any medals son
Theyre pinning none on you
What you need, what you need,
What you need is a change of habit

Things Are Getting Better
Well I worked for a week and I got no pay.
(things getting better.)
Well my babys coming back home to stay
(things getting better.)
Well shes coming back home, but I havent got a dime
(things getting better.)
But Ive got my love to keep me fine[? ].
(things getting better.)
Oh-oh
Things getting better.
Things getting better.
Well since my babys been away,
(things getting better.)
Well things got worse from day to day.
(things getting better.)
Well now my babys come back to me.
(things getting better.)
Yeah, itll get better, wait and see.
(things getting better.)
Oh-oh
Things getting better.
Things getting better.
Oh-oh
Things getting better.
Things getting better.
Well I pawned my watch and I sold my car.
(things getting better.)
The money Ive got wouldnt get me far.
(things getting better.)
But I dont mind now that youve packed.
(things getting better.)
Its a fact, that
Things getting better.
Things getting better.
Oh-oh
Things getting better.
Things getting better.

An Emptiness Collected (Things)
Things,
People pray for.
Things,
People have.
Things,
All around the people.
And things they have make them sad.
Things,
They ask of God to give.
Things,
They get don't please.
And when they realize it's not things they need...
That touch that is desired and wanted,
Has come to leave...
Them!
With their things!
And a generous offering,
Felt...
Of an emptiness collected!

The Things We See
The things we see are the things which make us proud,
because they make people jealous on a daily basis.
The things we see make us to be famous,
because we expose the truth, by promoting honesty.
The things we see make us feel jealous, curious, hopeful,
career driven & self motivated.
The things we see make us feel at home all the time.

Shades Of Time
Tell me the things that you see
Or is it some time that you need
All of the things that youve done
Im certain that you had your fun
Go out and make it better
You can make it if you try
Try to make it better
Somebody calls in the night
Says he can make things go right
I know therell soon come a day
Things will start falling your way
Ill try to help if I can
So dont hide your head in the sand, oh no
Why are you feeling so low
Youre wondering where will you go

Special
I been trying for so long
To get you where I stand
Feel like I been climbing all my life
Everybody told me
I'd never ever get this far
I know I can make it if I try
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
(come to you, you too, to you, do to, be do, you)
Special things come to you
There's no sense in trying to fight it
When I want something so bad
No, it's not as easy as it seems
Simple things are the hardest
Of the things we do for love
And I won't give up cause I'm not just what it means
The special things you dream about
And the special things you're all about
Special things that somehow come to you
And it's the simple things to just believe
And the special things that you want to see
Special things somehow come to you
(come to you, doo doo doo, to you, doo doo doo)
Special things (doo, doo ahh, you doo)
Do do doo, on you, do do doo, to you
Do doo, ahh, do do doo, too
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
The special things you dream about
And the special things you're all about
Special things that somehow come to you
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
And it's the simple things to just believe
And the special things that you want to see
Special things somehow come to you
