Sleep My Darling Sleep

yesterday at noon he fell asleep
what they told me next made me weep
they said if he's not up today at noon
there gonna tell everybody he might not awake
but in the meantime i say
sleep my darling sleep
get your health back from god
sleep my darling sleep
but dont forget to come back to me

Early In November

Beneath the starry morning still and steady
Frost laid on the leaves
Frost laid on the dreams
And stayed till the sun beams

Its early in November
And there's no rain
Oh this terrible silence and frozen pain

Sleep clinging in the closets
Sleep creeping on the floors
Sleep climbing up the walls
And stays till the reality falls

It's early in November
And I can't remember
How long will i wait and slumber?

The sky begins to pale
The black reveals is blues so dull and stale
As the footsteps begun to jolt this abandoned trail
The heart bursts out into this silent wail

It's early in November
And there's no rain
Oh this terrible silence and frozen pain

Too Early Her Sunset

Oh, so much of drowning regrets!
When faced with too early a sunset
Time seems to have been cheating
And the Future is just disappearing.

Life becomes fast drifting sands
We fail to hold in our weakened hands
Dreams and plans like mists are set
To fade like fog in too early a sunset.

Too early to think of sleep and rest
Too early for having Death as guest
Why does it seem that Fate forgets
Not to come early, too early for sunset?

It pains and grieves my frail heart so
Words to comfort, how? I don't know.
She hangs on there till the End is met
No choice but to go, too early her sunset.

For Eden, my friend. (Brain cancer victim at 38.)

Monday Morning

I love to sleep all day,
Or play all night.
But I must get all ready,
For Monday morning so tight.

I have to go to school,
On this very cold early morning.
Perhaps I wish was a fool,
Who would sleep till tomorrow?

But I am no fool,
On this very early morning.
Hence I must go to school,
So my friend will not be laughing

Waking up this day,
Drives all joy away.
The little ones play,
With gladness all day.

Monday morning it is,
For I have to wake up early
So I would not be caught,
Pouring cold water on my body so dry.

Today is Monday morning,
The most boring of all days.
Which bring back all sorrows,
Running to school so noisy.

Yet I sit in class,
And listen to the teacher.
Who come in a pink dress?
As the pastor preaches.

My face I bury,
Deep, deep in my books.
Which I take no delight in,
Yet still I must read or I would not eat.

How can I be born for joy?
Yet still sit in this cage.
And listen to the other boys,
Who I despise as much as dirt.

Today is Monday morning,
I have to go to school.
For I would not sleep till tomorrow,
Because I would be acting as a fool.

Early Mornin'

Early mornin'
All right, I was out real late last night
Got a little messy
Early morning
Can't be like that anymore, oh
I was shaking my ass in the streets this morning
Just walked in and it's early morning
Bump, bump till the break of dawn and
It don't stop till the early morning
Passed out on the couch I'm yawning
Just walked in and it's early morning
Bump, bump till the break of dawn and
It don't stop till the early morning
Wanna talk to
When he walked up someone grabbed him
But I liked him to come here
Kinda cool
Baby, we can make plans
Where ya live
Does your mama live there
We can hook up at the hotel
Hands down so
I told him, let's go
But waht happened next, guess?
But you don't wanna know
I was shaking my ass in the streets this morning
Just walked in and it's early morning
Bump, bump till the break of dawn and
It don't stop till the early morning
Passed out on the couch I'm yawning
Just walked in and it's early morning
Bump, bump till the break of dawn and
It don't stop till the early morning
Oh, in love
So I approached him
We gotta give him his friends
There's something bout him that show
So I said, what the hell
Let's go
Got up, got on the dance floor
Hooked up with a guy named Joe
When the music was fast and slow
But waht happened next, guess?
But you don't wanna know
I was shaking my ass in the streets this morning
Just walked in and it's early morning
Bump, bump till the break of dawn and
It don't stop till the early morning
Passed out on the couch I'm yawning
Just walked in and it's early morning
Bump, b

Sleep Baby Sleep

Sleep Baby Sleep....,
You'll be better soon....,
Sleep Baby Sleep....,
You've been ill since noon...,
Your body will repair itself....,
Just close your eyes....,
And dream sweet dreams...,
Sleep Baby Sleep....,
You'll feel better soon....,
Sleep Baby Sleep....,
You'll get better soon.

Morning, Noon And Nightime....

it was early morning
when what i am is merely hearing voices

and all i can do is look at those faces
and sometimes make a stare

at noon, i have learned many things
and i begin to speak their language

adopt their way at looking at this world
and attempt many times to understand each part

i've read on the papers that evening
about a woman who jumped to the sea and was never found

there is the shiver that goes to the bottom of my marrow
i check my bones

some people have become periods of the long paragraph
i judge them sometimes and put those flowers of sympathy

i do not sleep till dawn
my hands are resting on my forehead

my eyes are painting the ceiling
and my feet are buried on the ground

such is the case of some complaisance
as morning arrives again singing its blue marks

upon its cheeks are tattoos
which i have mistaken as scars

there are always other matters
i sleep with them now.

Noontime Pains

Aloud The sirens sound loudly for the arrival of high noon

The world stops
& snoops The heart keeps

Leaps

Even in high noon Pains, stones,
wide eyes till one p.m. and some bland stories to keep this harsh day moving

till five.

Rowers Chant

Row till the land dip 'neath
The sea from view.
Row till a land peep up,
A home for you.

Row till the mast sing songs
Welcome and sweet.
Row till the waves, out-stripped,
Give up dead beat.

Row till the sea-nymphs rise
To ask you why
Rowing you tarry not
To hear them sigh.

Row till the stars grow bright
Like certain eyes.
Row till the noon be high
As hopes you prize.

Row till you harbour in
All longing's port.
Row till you find all things
For which you sought.

How Things Really Went

when he turned pale and fainted
he blamed it on his dieting
he said he did not eat breakfast
that morning

when his eyes turned red at noon
he said he got sore eyes
and blamed the knob of the
door for the infection

and on the night when he locked
his room he said he wanted to
sleep early as he lacked sleep
writing his poems

he drank poison a la socrates
and when he died
the froth on his mouth looked like
the bloom of a
while million flower

he did not tell the truth
that his wife left him with another man
