My Life Needs Love
Deformed may my arm be
Yet I fondle it now
Maybe with twisting and
Love and care, for always.
Deformed is my face now,
Just a day ago I
Felt like loving the world
For its beauty and tears.
My life is unhappy
And sad, as well my mouth
Can bring new joy and smile,
The very laughter comes.

The Robe
Each naked branch, the yellow leaf or brown,
The rugged rock, and death-deformed plain
Lie white beneath the winter's feathery down,
Nor doth a spot unsightly now remain;
On sheltering roof, on man himself it falls;
But him no robe, not spotless snow makes clean;
Beneath, his corse-like spirit ever calls,
That on it too may fall the heavenly screen;
But all in vain, its guilt can never hide
From the quick spirit's heart-deep searching eye,
There barren plains, and caverns yawning wide
Ever lie naked to the passer by;
Nor can one thought deformed the presence shun,
But to the spirit's gaze stands bright as in the sun.

Written in her French Psalter
No crooked leg, no bleared eye,
No part deformed out of kind,
Nor yet so ugly half can be
As is the inward suspicious mind.

Vice, in its true light, is so deformed, that it shocks us at first sight; and would hardly ever seduce us, if it did not at first wear the mask of some virtue.

What A Difference A Lie Made
I can't dial back to the way we had been.
What a difference!
My heart has been deformed and left for another place to stay away from the sadness.
What is the most painful is
that I can't forgive you...
No!
I actually have forgiven you, but
I just don't understand and can't get over the incident.

Only Hatred
No Love, only Hatred
I don't feel compassion,
Neither do I feel sympathy.
My mind is altered by rage.
My soul is deformed by despair.
At the end, my heart is only abyss

To Deaconess No!
On her natal day, September 25,2011
May you always be
God's masterpiece of art
Alive for his people
Who deserve nothing less.
May no lines go astray,
No colors fade,
No forms be deformed,
No movements of grace freeze
In your dance of love, of life
In your knowing,
In your being,
And in your caring.

Are ideals confined to this deformed experiment upon a noble purpose, tainted, as it is, with bargains and tied to a peace treaty which might have been disposed of long ago to the great benefit of the world if it had not been compelled to carry this rider on its back?

An Angelic Face
Today I saw a young woman
who had such an angelic face.
Unfortunately her body
was twisted and deformed.
A defect of birth
or a crippling disease,
I could not be sure.
What I am sure of was the smile on her face;
it was a mark of courage.
Courage to carry on
and be normal as can be.
Her friends took no notice
of her broken body,
only of her as a person,
which said a lot for them.
To them she was as normal as you and I.
There were no imperfections
that clouded their eyes.
Just friendship deep and pure.
They laughed and joked
just as friends would do.
No one cast a stare
as often people do.
I smiled when she turned my way,
my acceptance of whom she was,
a young woman
with an angelic laughing face.

The man with the deformed hand
On the Sabbath with my shrivelled deformed hand
in front of all the people I took my stand.
Everyone was watching expectantly
I know it's the Sabbath but will He heal me?
The Pharisees and the teachers of the law
were very unhappy with the things they saw.
They looked for reasons to accuse Him of sin
and if He healed me then they thought they would win.
He said, 'On the Sabbath should we do evil? '
'Should we save a person's life or should we kill? '
Jesus spoke these words to the Pharisees there
they were quiet showing no compassion or care.
Then, 'Stretch out your hand, ' Jesus commanded me
and restored my withered hand for all to see.
So when I placed both of my hands together
the bad hand was made as good as the other.
I cannot understand and did not know
why all of the Pharisees acted so.
But I am so glad that Jesus healed me
from my handicap and deformity.
Written after reading Luke 6: 6-10
Taste
What, then, is taste but those internal powers,
Active and strong, and feeling alive
To each fine impulse? a discerning sense
Of decent and sublime, with quick disgust
From things deformed, or disarranged and gross
In species. This nor gems nor stores of gold,
Nor purple state nor culture can bestow;
But God alone, when first His active hand
Imprints the secret bias of the soul.
