A Good Friend She Was
A good friend she was
Would be there for me
Through ups or downs
A good friend she was.
A good friend she was
We laughed and had fun
Her smile was the best
A good friend she was.
A good friend she was
Her caring was amazing
Her love of life showed
A good friend she was.
A good friend she was
Kept her spirits up in pain
Never showed her hurts
A good friend she was.
A good friend she was
Even up until the end
Put my hand on her heart
A good friend she was.
A good friend she was
I will treasure the memories
Of all the joy we shared
A good friend she was.

Differences between a Good Friend and a Bad Friend
A good friend would wait for you;
So you could both walk to the bus;
A bad friend would just leave impatient;
“I’d rather go hang with Gus.”
A good friend would help with a chore;
Even if it’s taking out the trash;
A bad friend would just smirk;
“If only you gave me cash.”
A good friend would listen;
To whatever you have to say;
A bad friend would cover your mouth;
“Quit blabbering away! ”
A good friend would say “Come on over.”
Whenever you feel like you’re alone;
A bad friend would yell at your face;
“Just go on back home! ”
A good friend would phone;
To ask how you are;
A bad friend wouldn’t care;
“Wanna go to the bar? ”
A good friend will cheer you up;
Whenever you feel sad;
A bad friend would laugh;
“Well, that’s just too bad.”
A good friend would stand up for you;
When blamed for a crime;
A bad friend would walk away;
“Oh look at the time.”
A good friend would come to your funeral;
And leave flowers in your wake;
A bad friend would blow it off;
“It was his mistake! ”

The Good Friend (Revised)
The good friend
Is always there
Is always faithful
Is always supportive
The good friend
Loves unconditionally
Forgives easily
Forgets every wrong
The good friend
Cries over you
Cries for you
Cries with you
The good friend
Gets hurt
Gets walked on
Gets left behind
The good friend
Keeps her heart open
Keeps smiling
Keeps her promises
The good friend
Never gives up
Never stops being true
Never fades away
The Good friend
Is who I am
Who I always want to be
Who you can always trust to be there with a smile and open arms.
Its hard,
But I am the good friend.

What It Takes To Be A Good Friend
A good friend is always kind,
Should always speak their mind,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
A good friend is there for you,
They are real, they are true- blue,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
A good friend will be there when you marry,
A heart full of memories, they will carry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
They'll be there if your father dies,
They'll weep with you when you cry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.
If a good friend you do find,
Make sure they treat you kind,
Understanding they shouldn't lack,
And they would never stab you in the back,
On top of everything always remember,
A best friend is forever.

All You Need
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The loneliness disappears.
Reminiscing when you are near.
Strength erases every fear.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
It's the womans struggle.
It's the womans fight.
After years of both physical and mental abuse.
Therapy is of no use.
You just need.
You just need....
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
No longer the victim.
In times of desperation.
In times of exhaustion.
In times of, In so many times of
All you really need.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The fire burns this midnight hour.
And the reflection brings so many feeling of both the bitter and sour.
Be careful because depression will devour.
Don't cut your self off from the world.
No never, all you really need.
Oh all the really need.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
The friend.
The motivator.
And everything is good again.
And all you have to do is ask.
And we will be right there so fast.
No matter the time or the place.
Because we love you and we always will.

Talk About The Good Times
(words & music by jerry reed hubbard)
Well I remember when I was as children
The time the people used to treat the neighbor like a fellow man
And all their singin and big prayer meetins
When a man was proud to walk up and shake his neighbors hand
Oh you talk about the good times,
Talk about the good times
Oh if you ever needed help a friend was there
Some good neighbor
Help lift your burden
Mmm, and the simple joys of life a friend would share
Times are harder and the people are changin
Now most folks couldnt tell you who their neighbors are
All their guns are loaded, the front doors are bolted
Aint this ol world takin hate and fear just a little too far
Oh you talk about the good times,
Talk about the good times
I wish I could go back to the days Im speakin of
When a friend would meet you
And a smile would greet you
What this ol world needs now is a little old fashioned love
My granddaddy God rest his soul now
Well we had a big long talk together the day he died
Said son this world is full of hate and venom
An I cant wait to leave this ol place and rest on the other side
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
Im gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol days
Well have a big hand shakin
An sit and talk together
Sit down by the river jordan and sing our blues away
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
Im gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol days
Well have a big hand shakin
An sit and talk together
Sit down by the river jordan and sing our blues away
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
Im gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol days
Well have a big hand shakin
An sit and talk together
Sit down by the river jordan and sing our blues away

What is a good friend?
A good friend is someone you
can run too for help.
A good friend is someone you
can call to talk to them.
A good friend is someone you
can cry on there shoulder went
your sad.
A good friend is someone that
is there for you.

Good Friend
I used to think that you were someone else
Then I'd loose my mind each day
I used to think that I could help myself
But its true
what they say
There is no reason without a way
This is
Good Bye to you and Me
what a good friend you've been to me
and I owe it all to you
every good thing that I do is you
I used to wish that I was someone else
then I'd dream away the day
those dreams have made me into someone new
and its true what they say
there is no better time than today
if this is
Good Bye to you and Me
what a good friend you've been to me
and I owe it all to you
every good thing that I do is you
I am here
I need to say
that I will miss you
everyday
and its true what they say
there is no better time than today
if this is
Good Bye to you and Me
what a good friend you've been to me
if this is
Good Bye to you and Me
well what good friends we will always be
and I owe it all to you
every good thing that I do is you [x2]
its you
Every good thing that I do is you
its you
every good thing that I do
well I owe it all to you
every good thing that I do is

You Were A Good Friend
If I closed my eye-eyes
It did't hurt quite so ba-a-ad
'Cause tonight I just lo-o-ost
The best friend I ever ha-a-ad
You were a maveri-ick
Runnin' all away from New Orlea-eans
We'd tell stories 'round the campfire
Late at night when it was down
To just you and me-ee-ee
Good friend
Why did you have to go?
Just when I was gettin' to know you
I'll sing this song to show
You were a goo-ood friend
They don't make 'em quite like you
And in my memory you'll always be
A good good frie-iend to me
You said I got a home, boy-oy
Haven't seen it for so lo-o-ong
Said I'm goin' home, boy-oy
My work is done
I can feel it in my bo-o-ones
Good friend
Why did you have to go?
Just when I was gettin' to know you
I'll sing this song to show
You were a good friend
They don't make 'em quite like you
And in my memory you'll always be
A good good frie-iend to me
Good-good friend
Why did you have to go?
Just when I was gettin' to know you
I'll sing this song to show
You were a good friend
They don't make 'em quite like you
And in my memory you'll always be
A goo-ood friend to me
And in my memory you'll always be
A good good frie-iend - to me...

Be Good Johnny
Skip de skip, up the road
Off to school we go
Dont you be a bad boy johnny
Dont you slip up
Or play the fool
Oh no ma, oh no da,
Ill be your golden boy
I will obey evry golden rule
Get told by the teacher
Not to day-dream
Told by my mother:
Be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good be good (johnny)
Be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good (johnny)
Be good be good.
Are you going to play football this year, john?
No!
Oh, well you must be going to play cricket this year then,
Are you johnny?
No! no! no!
Boy, you sure are a funny kid, johnny, but I like you! so tell me,
What kind of a boy are you, john?
I only like dreaming
All the day long
Where no one is screaming
Be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good be good (johnny)
Be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good

You're So Good
If you were an apple, I would take a bite
If you were a lemon, I would squeeze you tight
You're so good, I've got to have you
You're so good that nothing else matters
You're so good, you're so good, you're so good for me
If you were a penny, you'd be good as gold
If you were a snowball, I would love the cold
'Cause you're so good, I've got-got to have you
You're so good that nothing else matters
You're so good, you're so good, you're so good,
You're so good for me
If you were a candle, I would light your fire
And if you were hard labor, I would never tire
'Cause you're good, I've got-got to have you
You're so good that nothing else matters
You're so good, you're so good, you're so good
You're so good for me
You're so good for me
You're so good, you're so good, you're so good for me

From The Short Story What The Swallows Did
Swallow, swallow, neighbor swallow,
Starting on your autumn flight,
Pause a moment at my window,
Twitter softly your good-night;
For the summer days are over,
All your duties are well done,
And the happy homes you builded
Have grown empty, one by one.
Swallow, swallow, neighbor swallow,
Are you ready for your flight?
Are all the feather cloaks completed?
Are the little caps all right?
Are the young wings strong and steady
For the journey through the sky?
Come again in early spring-time;
And till then, good-by, good-by!

Depending on what day of the week it is and what time of the month it is, I'm a good friend or not a good friend. I'm more or less a good mom or not a good mom, more or less a good mate or not a good mate. That's just life, whether or not you're public.
Good Friend
If only you could know
How Id love you so
The way good friends do
The way I would be you
And me too, Id be your
Good friend, Id be your
Good friend, Id be your
Good friend
Thats what I wouldve been
Oh but everytime I turn around
My hearts on the mend
These feelings I have
I have to suspend
Seems like everytime I turn around
My hearts on the mend
Because I dont think you want me
To be your good friend
Yesterday is a laugh
And the traumas slip past
And I dont think
That Ill be doing a lot of crying
But Ill sure do my share of sighing
I would have been your...

Why do you come here ?
And why, why do you hang around ?
I'm so sorry, oh ...
I'm so sorry, oh, oh ...
Why do you come here
When you know it makes things hard for me ?
When you know, oh
Why do you come ?
Why do you telephone ? ahur...
And why, why send me silly notes ?
I'm so sorry
I'm so sorry, oh ...
Why do you come here
When you know it makes things hard for me ?
When you know, oh
Why do you come ?
It was because
Everything that i did
I wrote it down
On the wall
You had to sneak into my room
'just' to read my diary
"oh, it was just to see, just to see"
(all the things you knew i'd written about you...)
And oh so many illustrations
Oh, but
I'm so very sickened
Oh, i am so sickened now
Still, it was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
Ah ...
Still, it was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
A good lay, ah ...
Oh, it was a good lay
It was a good lay
It was a good lay
Oh, it was a good lay
Good lay, good lay
Oh
Oh, it was a good lay, good lay
Oh, it was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
Good lay, oh
Thankyou.

What good is a Friend
What good is a friend
if you can't trust them
can't believe in them
can't be their friend
What good is a friend
if you can't tell secerts
can't share secerts
can't be their friend
What good is a friend
if you can't love them

Take A Friend
Words and music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Well, Im lookin at you
And Im wondrin what youre gonna do
Looks like you got no friends
No one to stick with you till the end
Take yourself a friend
Keep em till the end
Whether woman or man
It makes you feel so good
So good
Yes, you think youre all right,
And now youre lonely evry night
Well, you need a friend
Someone on whom you can always depend
Take yourself a friend
Keep em till the end
Whether woman or man
It makes you feel so good
So good
Yes, you need some advice
Well, let me put it to you nice
I said you need a friend
Someone wholl stick with you to the end
Take yourself a friend
Keep em till the end
Whether woman or man
It makes you feel so good
So good
