Hour Glass

As grains start to fall, everything is new.
Nothing is known about what to do.
As the pile of grains continues to grow,
It seems easier to know which way to go.

When grains approach a quarter of the way,
Things appear less black and white versus an earlier day.
But the world is exciting and there’s plenty of time.
Any thoughts of the hour glass give way to the sublime.

Pleasure, money, power and love battle for share,
While the grains at the top become increasingly rare.
At half way flowing grains take on a resounding force,
Though few pay attention as they race on their course.

Mental and physical factors band together as reminders,
But many still prefer to continue using their blinders.
As the grains accumulate to their three quarters state,
The niave and unprepared are in for a sad, brutal fate.

They still act as if they have power over the grains and the glass.
Nothing could be more wrong as the last few grains pass.
For matter not the importance or the manner of any man
When his last grain falls, the hour glass won’t turn over again.

Humility

The wheat, when rich with grains
Bends its stalks in Gratitude
The weed, though it proudly strains
To raise itself, yields no food.

Patience, Patience

the child with a black coat
on this cold day
sits there beside a brick
church of spanish
architecture

the yard is quiet except
for the sound of the flapping
of doves feedind on some
rice grains

the boy has a black hair
and his feet are stained with
mud his fingers dirty with
some sticky sauce

he spreads the rice grains
from his palm to the
muddy grounds

the doves hover and land
on the spot where the grains
are freely spread

he sits with them
surrounded

the doves are watching him
and he watches carefully each
dove that eyes on his grains

he likes to snatch just one
to bring home to mother

the doves are too careful
it is just the rice grains nothing more

eye to eye
both wait for what shall happen next

Feeding The Chickens

the grains in your hands
you spread them on the ground

chickens come near you
making you feel like you are the

United States of America
and they are the countries that depend on you

those third world bastards
those colonies, those developing ones
the grains become your bombs
under your keeping
you think you are the only one who has that sole
divine right to keep these grains (yes the bombs)
inside your hands

Holy cow! Who are you? Who are YOU!
(repeat the question 10x)

Waiting On The Wheat Harvest

as you sow brothers sisters so you wheat harvest reap
as a grain of wheat dies germinates bears fruit to heap
Jesus will completely clean up threshing floor gather his wheat
chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire hell suffering heat
an enemy came in over sowed weeds in among seed wheat
reapers harvest collect weeds burn them saving only wheat
Satan demands sifts men as wheat to blow away in sifting wind
Son of man will send angels to gather chosen ones from ill wind
a grain of wheat falls into the ground dies then bears fruit new life
so hate soul temptation in this world safeguard soul for eternal life

Maya

little brown birds with grey beaks and a patch of black
on their heads
three of them
drinking water on a pond of water created
by the little rain this morning

as i go near them
they all look at me and then in a sudden
they all fly away leaving some ripples in the
muddled pond

i never think of them as my enemies
they all leave at once
i do not have a gun
or a club or a slingshot

what i have in my hands are rice grains, nothing but rice grains
yes, rice grains for all of them

Give me the grain as the pot roll down

sweat that sweeten the wheat, touches the tongue that
sweeten the grain, brings flesh as it boils the potter hot in
the lapped hand it stops

shape and turn into some direction, whether soft or hard
too sharp to touch, comes the most beautiful mold as it
form the most splendid return the eyes have seen

as little fingers linger folded the clay in the water soak
it display; waste no bits and pieces, paste what ever it
may see, putting in the ground for making it dry in the
air it say goodbye

here is my flexible hand and softly touches your whist
line for you to feel the shape you want me to be, roll my
side, to up and down, as the wheat stand in the ground
waiting for you to calm down

pour me down for me to give the ground as you will have
the grains, in you’re sweetening tongue you found.....

Seven Billion Reasons

Another baby born, another bushel of wheat
Another piece of land, for another family to eat

Another net is cast, another fish is caught
Another fire in the forest, another tree sought
Another bird flees, another bird gone
No home for the beast, diversity all gone

Crops in the amazon, Rivers clogged up
Flooding in cities, Seas on the up
Nature under pressure, Pollution the price
Shortage of wheat, Shortage of Rice
Temperature rising, Deserts expanding

Oil running out, the world is in doubt
War for resources, the west uses force
While the poor beg in cities
Victims of policies, Victims of atrocities

Seas that are empty, Bellies that are swelled
Mankind too many, Riots a plenty
The button is pushed, and humanity is hushed
The Earth is now empty, Heaven is full
And we are 7 billion reasons
For God to cry “Treason” ”Treason”

And the stars look on, silent
And galaxies die alone
And no one will know.
This place,
Where once, our babies did grow
But time will go on
And the earth is aglow
Just as it was,7 billion years ago.

7 billion today
Tomorrow more
What is the real figure?
For all out Nuclear War?

GRAINS of SAND

Grains of sand
on which I stand
burn my feet
from the sun's intense heat.
I bury them quickly
to keep them cool.
The grains of sand
can be too cruel.
And now I know
I played the fool
for I left my sandals
where it was cool.
Afraid to move,
I see a child.
I call to him
as if I'm wild.
'My shoes, my shoes
please bring them here.'
He looks and waves,
then disappears.
And so I stay
and face the day
stuck in grains of sand.

Parables of Jesus: The Kingdom of Heaven: The Wheat and the Darnel Gospel, Matthew 13: 24-30

Then Jesus told another parable:
‘Kingdom of Heaven- Wheat and the darnel'
Heaven can be compared to that of a man,
Who sowed only good seed in his whole field.

But just when everybody fell asleep,
His enemy had come and sown darnel,
Amongst the wheat and sped away quite fast.

And when the new wheat sprouted very well,
The darnel too appeared amidst the same;
His labourers all went to him and said,
‘Wasn't it good seed that you sowed in your field?

He told them, ‘Some enemy had done this! '
When they asked if they should pull the weeds out,
He told, ‘No, as the wheat would come with it! '

‘Let them both grow until the harvest-time;
And then I will instruct my reapers all,
‘Collect the darnel first; burn the bundles!
Gather the good wheat all into my barn! '

Drying The Grains Under The Sun....

we dry the grains today
under the sun

they die.
they shrink.

we think that by dying
the grains can stay that long

and then
ready for the next steaming

delicious for our
mouths

filling our hunger
in times of drought.

Sonnet

Love bends over a yellow stalk of wheat,
Hope shields these grains her seed, sowed, eyes
Corn poppies pearl-black the inset stars discreet,
Worm eaten flowers, caste-up” a moment’s prize!
The sparkling cross pollination of souls and minds
Of hearts cool, hot, tepid, passionate, tears assigned:
These aren’t the sting, swollen, eruptions” she reminds.
Each bursting bloom a blood vessel, newly; entwined:
But gaze not blindly men at women’s true honest preserve
It’s God’s worn-out labour here on mother earth, cherished
The brashest of bees can dance and thrash their verve
And like the kneeling Sheppard raise all... the perished.
As the yolk of a flower is but a set, weed!
So he the father must chaff-out the wheat from the seed.

Solitude

So many stones have been thrown at me,
That I'm not frightened of them anymore,
And the pit has become a solid tower,
Tall among tall towers.
I thank the builders,
May care and sadness pass them by.
From here I'll see the sunrise earlier,
Here the sun's last ray rejoices.
And into the windows of my room
The northern breezes often fly.
And from my hand a dove eats grains of wheat...
As for my unfinished page,
The Muse's tawny hand, divinely calm
And delicate, will finish it.

Love Is Like Sand

I said it too,
Love is like sand,
It slips down through fingers,
But some grains stick with the palm,
And when it is bushed,
These grains pass through eyes
While journeying to the soul,
They often weep and wail
Lying in its secret channels,
But troubling a lot.

Birds And Grains

in a relationship
the birds wait for the grains
whose meanings are

the birds to eat
the grains to be eaten

what a complimentary world is this
all in utmost pleasure

another tongue fills in the void of hunger.
